File Description:
These are the textures from the unfinished version of the Airport Environment Upgrade (AEU8) project that I abandoned in December of 2005. For best results you should use these textures along with AEU7 (aeu7.zip) because only about half of the textures were ever finished for this project. These textures have not been tested with FSX and are not expected to display properly in that version of Flight Simulator. Seasonal runways, taxiways, ramp areas, and about half of the airport building textures were completed. Reflective effects were never added to the new textures before the project was abandoned. A completely new version of AEU for FSX is planned for the future but I haven't determined when work will begin on that project.

For those of you who find airportlightenv.zip too intense this version is the same lights but they're aren't so bright.
This file redesigns all aiport lighting for every airport in both FSX and FS2004. This file will display exactly the same in both FSX and FS2004 but the file is optimised to be used with Bloom within FSX to give a fantastic, realistic feel to the sim. This file isn't designed to improve performance although some people have seen an increase in performance using this file, especially when using bloom. Not only does this file redesign lighting, in FSX, but also Bloom. The bloom you will receive after installing this file is much more realistic than default and enhances the "Bloom Effect" within FSX.

Airport Environment Upgrade II - These textures will significantly enhance world-wide airport scenery. The upgrade includes ramps, taxiways, runways, airport lighting, a few of the more common terminal buildings, and some hangars. Both day and night textures are included. A great deal of effort was made to reproduce colors and details as they appear in real life.
This version includes the fix for the missing ramp/ taxiway textures by including the files in .r8 format. Also included are new high-contrast airport markings, improved runway textures, better airport/ aircraft lighting, and a new pavement texture over-lay. This version includes significant improvements of the runway environment and airport lighting. Runway, taxiway, approach and center-line lighting have been brightened and enhanced. This add on produces a more realistic sound environment by replacing some FS sound files. You will hear more realistic sounds of props, large and small size jets. In addition you hear also reverse thrust sound for the following types of aircraft: Turbo props, Small jets, Medium jets, Large jets.
Changes in version 1.01: Almost all sounds were revised to fit better with different types of aircraft and flight conditions.
