| Himalayas LOD9 Base Mesh, Volume 1 - Southeastern Ranges |

Detailed terrain mesh of the Southeastern Himalayan Ranges, N26-32 E90-98. The files in this package are based on Shuttle Radar (SRTM) Version 2 data but with many of the void areas, especially the most significant sections, filled with elevation data generated from topographic maps by Jonathan de Ferranti. While Jonathan's work is unrelated to flight simulation he kindly gave me permission to compile his data for use in FS. The result is a wonderful improvement in detail and accuracy over any existing mesh file, freeware or commercial, based on SRTM or DTED data alone.
Due to the large area of the Himalayas I've compiled the source data as two separate series: the "Himalayan Peaks" series covers prominent mountains and ranges in higher detail and locally overrides any existing LOD9 terrain mesh. In addition, a LOD9 "base mesh" series, with LOD8 and LOD7 "buffer" mesh files, covering the entire Himalayas, is meant for those who do not yet have an add-on terrain mesh of these beautiful mountains.

FS2004 USAF/MATS Convair CV-240 VBF in colors of 1952. The Convair with cn 264 was one of a bunch of T-29B-CO (CV-240-27) delivered to the U.S. Air Force September 16, 1952 and on July 15, 1953 assigned to the 1299 Transport Squadron of Military Air Transport Service (MATS). She was equipped with standard high density seating for staff transport and painted in the typically MATS livery of the early fifties. On July 13, 1956 she was converted to VC-131A standard and fitted with the weather mapping radar used extensively on the model CV-440 and on many CV-340 models. The last operator of this Convair was the 86th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Stuttgart (Germany). She came to AMARC on May 06, 1975 and was sold off for scrap on November 23, 1994. Monty's model is great. Digital Overload worked really hard on the ini files as well. But the A-1H V4.0a release still has many problems. I am offering my own version 4.0c ini files (this solves the prop issue with the 4.0b ini files). These ini files offer some nice alternatives to the 4.0a files: The cockpit is unfinished but more importantly has transparency issues with the glass. The problem is compounded when you try to see through the gunsight, canopy, and propellor tga files. So I replaced the unfinished cockpit with the stock A-4B cockpit. It is very similar and has almost identical functionality. It is also very easy to see through the glass and even targets through the gunsight. Since the prop is visible again, I have provided a more transparent version of the original prop tga file. The lod table has been vastly simplified to reflect the fact that there are only two lod files. The A-1H has no radar, so the erroneous line giving it one has been deleted.

File Description:
One of the most completed packs ever uploaded for FS. Full combatible with both FS2K2 & FS9 versions, this "Aegean Ghost" repaint, is representing an F-16C Blok 50 in service of 341st Squadron of Hellenic Air Force. The fantastic model and realistic "metal looking" textures are made by Kirk Olson. The package contains realistic sounds made by Angelos Hatzikatakos. A new panel was made by Nick Karatzides who also modified the official checklist (by Lockheed Matrin Ltd.) for FS purposes and also wrote and a VERY completed flight manual (47 pages) which can be read with Adobe Acrobat. The panel uses realistic radar & HUD gauges combatible with both FS2K2 & FS9 versions, made by Eric Marciano. This "F-16C_HAF_v2.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the controls and do not "kick" the contol stick while flying...It is for people who want to know how it looks to fly with a modern fighter. The package contains visual effects, night lighting, fine looking mechanical parts movement, contrails, realistic gears extracting / retracting etc.

Textures for Tom Gibson's Douglas DC-6 - repainted by Manfred Meyer.
You need to download and install the latest Douglas DC-6 base pack with model, sound and panel from the website calclassic.com.
These textures depict HC-ARK "El Pinguino" (c/n 42865) of Americana de Aviacion. This Ecuadorian Company leased and later bought this plane in 1968 and used it, among others, for flights to the Galapagos Islands.
This DC-6 was the 13. built and originally delivered 1947 to American Airlines as "Flagship Texas" renamed later "Flagship South Carolina". American AL sold her 1960 to Aerolineas Peruanas as OB-OAD-545. From 1964 onwards she was in the hands of some U.S.leasing companies and goes then to Americana of Ecuador. They used the plane until 1970 and then it was broken up at Quito after 1975.
The Lettering "DC-6 EQUIPADO CON RADAR" should be on the nose wheel doors, but unfortunately this is not possible at this FS model. So I put the text on the lower bow near the nose wheel bay.
