Exploring Our World - Part 3 - The Wine Country of Chile. Here is your opportunity to explore the Wine Country of Northern Chile with stopovers at four delightful GA airfields (SCAD-SCMI-SCOV-SCVN) enhanced by Cesar Carrasco. Along the way you will enjoy some very beautiful scenery. This package includes revised Afcads for the airports and a small Traffic file using default aircraft plus a challenge to find an observatory which I have added. Please read the documentation for further details. Designed to work with the default FS2004 scenery, no additional mesh is required. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder and follow the simple installation instructions which are in .doc and .pdf formats. If you find the red reminder messages about Brakes and Overspeed intrusive, this package contains a revised language.dll which will abbreviate these messages. This file modification will ONLY work with the ENGLISH version of Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX and was created in response to several requests. Flattens for use at PANC Anchorage, Alaska Airport - for FS2004 only.
While flying into PANC recently, I noticed the water was encroaching on the land near Runways 14 and 6 in a most unrealistic manner. This package provides two flattens which will eliminate that problem. Tested with the default scenery and with the Frame Rate Friendly Studio version of PANC. It has not been tested with any terrain enhancement such as Ultimate Terrain. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the very simple installation instructions. File Description:
USS Stennis Aircraft Carrier & Coast Guard Helicopters. This enhancement, created from several readily available components, features the USS Stennis Aircraft Carrier and AI Jayhawk Coast Guard Helicopters flying to and from it. The carrier is steaming up the Oregon coast off the Port of Newport and is escorted by a Coast Guard Cutter.
The scenery is designed to compliment my Newport, Oregon airport (KNOP) scenery - newport1.zip - but will work with the FS2004 default scenery also. All necessary files are included. The documentation also lists the sources used - and several have instructions detailing how to add the component to your own scenery projects. Reducing FSX Traffic speed - an Illustrated tutorial
One of the more "interesting" enhancements which Microsoft introduced in FSX is the vehicle traffic which can be seen on the highways around larger cities and airports. However many simmers feel the speed at which these vehicles travel is considerably too fast and therefore quite unrealistic. One simmer has even commented that he cannot overtake many vehicles when flying low and slow in the default Cessna.
It is quite easy to edit the speeds of such vehicles and the process has been documented in at least one forum post. However I thought it might be useful - especially for those not accustomed to working with command line interfaces - to have a tutorial available which illustrates each step.

A Desert Flower Exclude. While flying around Egypt you may have encountered another error which shipped with FS2004 - a flower like arrangement of bridges (see screenshots) which are totally out of place. This file includes provides a VTPX exclude bgl which removes them. Please unzip to a temporary folder and follow the very simple installation instructions. | The Queen Mary II at New York Harbor |

The Queen Mary II at New York Harbor. Using the exceptionally fine AI model of the QM2 by the Japanese artist Mitsuya Hamaguchi (Hama), this package presents the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (home of the Cunard Cruise Lines) with the QM2 making regular departures and arrivals. Also included is a representation of the Cape Liberty Cruise Port, Bayonne, New Jersey - just across the river. An animated wake has also been added to the default Cruise ship seen in the harbor. This package is designed to work in the default FS2004 setting ONLY. This scenery uses several custom objects created by John B.Loney Jr. as well as objects from the EZ Scenery and RWY12 libraries. Complete details will be found in the instructions.If you have the Lago FSE program you will also hear the horn of the QM2 occasionally. AI Ships on Hong Kong Harbor. This enhancement is designed to compliment the 9Dragons version of the old Kai Tak Airport (VHHX). One of the World's busiest harbors will get even busier as this package adds a number of AI ships sailing near the airport and the dock areas, adding visual interest to the Harbor which is already well populated with static ships. You will see a beautiful Yacht, several container ships, a tramp steamer and the SS Ile de France Cruise ship - all arriving and/or departing the area. A properly installed 9Dragons Kai Tak scenery is required. Models used are by Phil Crowther and Mitsuya Hamaguchi (Hama). A few technical notes are included if you wish to experiment with adding AI ships to your own scenery. This enhancement is for FS2004 only.
