| Hunting Percival Sea Prince Belgian Air Force (RM-7) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Percival Sea Prince by Rob Richardson, in the colors of RM-7 of the Belgian Air Force, in the paintscheme it wore in its first year of service. In 1953 the Belgian Government ordered 12 Percival Pembroke's through Contract N° SP140 as a replacement for the ageing Avro Anson. The aircraft was used for short-range transport and liaison flights. Between 1956 and 1957 several brand-new Pembrokes were stored at Wevelgem awaiting a future detachment to the Belgian Congo, which eventually never materialised.
A number of Pembrokes were also used for the benefit of the Belgian National Geographical Institute that used the aerial photographs obtained with the Pembrokes to produce very detailed maps of the country. In 1978 the Pembrokes were struck of charge after their replacement, the Swearingen Merlin III became operational. All but two Pembrokes were sold to the rather dark company Air America (not to be confused with the CIA-supported Air America that was operational in South-East Asia), which was owned by a drugsdealer. After some very adventurous carreers in Souith America, several former Belgian Pembrokes were acquired and preserved in the USA. RM-7 is preserved in Belgium at Melsbroek air base by the Dakota Historical Center 15th Wing. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Rob Richardson.

| Vliet Airport (6NJ1), NJ |
|
File Description:
Located 02 miles SE of Washington, New Jersey, Vliet Airport is a private turf field. Trees border the runway on three sides, and a dirt mound and semi-truck are also obstacles to watch out for at the end of Runway 06 if you land long. At 1300' feet, it is a very short runway so make sure you check the capabilities of your aircraft before attempting to either land or take off here! Don't forget that in order to clear trees, usable runway space is closer to only 1000'. This airport has no lighting so daytime VFR operations only are recommended. Take note that there is also no wind sock, so be sure you are aware of the weather conditions prior to arriving/departing. There is also no hard-surfaced runway and you will be landing on terrain so it's suggested you have your mesh resolution slider as high as possible.
Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 007. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

File Description:
"Tongass Remote Airfield" (RATR) Alaskan scenery (Fictitious)
Tongass Remote Airfield is for Flight Simulator 2004 and for the "Tongass Fjords" (FS9) addon by Holger Sandmann & Bill Womack . You must have "Tongass Fjords" (FS9) for this to work.
Field history and description:
In the early days this area was well known to prospectors and hunters. A small mine was established and later abandoned. Around the late 40¢s a crew was contracted to clear a small landing area to gain easier access for hunters and campers. Due to the extreme remoteness of this area that clearing took several years. The last phase was the approach, clearing by hand a descending glide slope through just the tops of the tall trees. There is now just enough room for a very experienced pilot to get in and out of this field. The airfield is 26 miles north of Petersburg Alaska (PAPG). This is a tricky narrow approach with a left hand dogleg and then an immediate right hand dogleg turn just before the final approach. Not much time to set up your approach, also, it's a very short runway. For experienced pilots only, and make sure that your life insurance is up to date. See enclosed Maps and info. Good luck.

| LFLJ - Courchevel, France |
|
File Description:
This FSX scenery package contains the LFLJ Courchevel airport in the French Alps. The airport has a very short, upslope runway of only 525 m (1,722 ft). The airport is considered one of the seven most dangerous in the world. It has a difficult approach, a 300 foot upslope runway and is adjacent to the Courchevel ski runs. The Courchevel airport altitude is the highest in Europe, with a mean elevation of 6,520 feet. This airport is intended to be used with FSX and the free addon - TileProxy. TileProxy provides real-time photorealistic satellite imagery in place of the stock auto generated FSX scenery or any other scenery package. The Courchevel airport was originally released as part of an FSX airport scenery package containing 15 airports, located in the French Alps. The link to the original 15 French Alps Airport package is shown below. This file is not required, but allows you to download 15 related French Alps airports. The LFLJ, Courchevel airport in the original 15 airport package was missing a required scenery file which corrects the airport altitude (from 6420 ft. to 6520 ft.) due to the mis-location of the stock FSX airport. This download provides all three of the required .bgl scenery files.

| Nick's Prop Dust with Control Gauges |
|
File Description:
Prop aircraft users are in for a real treat. This gauge/effects package automatically senses the terrain the aircraft is in contact with or flying over and changes the dust and water effects for the aircrafts prop/rotor wash based on dirt, dry mud or clay, snow, rain, water, ice, sand, gravel and short grass. In addition the real time surface conditions are also sensed. In example, a dry asphalt or concrete runway will produce no dust, however, the same runway with snow conditions present will automatically produce a throttle controlled snow blowing effect. The 25 included effects files and 5 gauges have been tuned to reflect a realistic representation of the dust/mist produced by different types of aircraft taking off or touching down on different terrains and surface conditions. The effects are properly influenced by cross wind conditions and reverse pitch is also supported. Effects files and gauges are included for large and small, single engine, multi-engine, amphibians, helicopters and massive scale military and commercial transports. It requires editing/adding lines in the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files. The README files include very complete and comprehensive instructions including a quick and easy copy/paste file for all the Microsoft prop aircraft and tutorial on making custom gauges from the ones provided.

File Description:
MEGA Maldives Airlines has introduced a Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet as part of its fleet modernization drive. The aircraft is just over 4 years old with 12 business class seats and 156 economy class seats with the latest Boeing Sky interior and new extra fuel saving “split scimitar†winglets. It is part of an overall strategy for the airline to update and re-structure its fleet over the next year. The aircraft will support MEGA’s plans for increased connectivity between the Maldives and short to medium range markets. This includes India and Sri Lanka, with new routes starting within the 4th quarter. MEGA also plans to restart its Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah routes, although these routes will operate primarily on larger 767 aircraft in MEGA’s existing fleet. he new B737 aircraft is wet-leased from Czech operator Travel Services, but will fly in the MEGA Maldives Airlines colours and livery and MEGA Maldives cabin crew will service the flight onboard. This is the third time MEGA has wet-leased an aircraft from Travel Services. Furthermore, in support of the national drive to increase tourism, the aircraft also sports the “Maldives – sunny side of life†logo prominently. | Slovenia - LOD11 (19 meters resolution) Mesh |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Slovenia, no matter how small, is a country with wide variety of landscapes.
From flat lands in the North-Eastern part one can see lovely rolling hills in
southern regions and razor sharp edges of 8500 ft peaks of the Alps in the
North-Western region.
SRTM elevation data that was used and is provided as default FS X terrain simply
can't cope with the task of representing our terrain in at least a little close
to reality manner, shapes and altitudes of some of our nicest peaks are deformed
beyond recognition, our highest mt. Triglav is with 38 meters SRTM mesh falling
short by almost 3000 ft!
So Slovenia Scenery Team developed this 19 meters resolution using FSX compatible
tools for it's payware scenery, but after development of even finer mesh with 10
meters resolution, we decided to offer the original 19 meters mesh to general
fligt simulation public. Mesh is FS X only and is not compatible with FS9.
Even if released as freeware, this files were uploaded to only some selected
flight simulation sites and redistribution of this scenery is not allowed without
written permission from the authors.
File is packed into a convenient installer that should perform all of the actions
automatically, but, please, do read the License agreement and "Read me" file
included in the installation.

| RAF North Creake |
|
File Description:
RAF North Creake is a former Royal Air Force station located 3.3 miles (5.3 km) southwest of Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk and 5.7 miles (9.2 km) northwest of Fakenham, Norfolk, England.
Originally used in 1941 as a decoy site for RAF Docking, construction of this Class A airfield began in October 1942, with the station being provided with accommodation for 2,951 male and 411 female staff. The airfield had 36 loop type hardstandings, two T2 hangars and one B1 hangar.
By December 1943 the airfield had passed to 100 Group, although it did not immediately become operational as consideration was given to upgrading the airfield to Very Heavy Bomber Standard. In the event, this did not take place, with RAF Sculthorpe being selected for upgrade.
Short Stirling III's from 199 Squadron arrived in May 1944 to complete Window and Mandrel operations against enemy radar tracking of Bomber Command raids, however, in March 1945 these were changed to Handley Page Halifax III's. In September 1944, No. 199's 'C' Flight was used to re-form 171 Squadron, who contributed to 100 Group's radio counter-measures activities with Halifaxes.
The RAF relinquished the station in 1947, and the area is now used for agriculture, though some evidence of runways, buildings and facilities remains. Seventeen aircraft were lost from the airfield, eight Stirling's and nine Halifax's.
The control tower survives, and has been converted into a house, offering bed and breakfast.

| Norfolk International Airport (KORF) |
|
File Description:
Again, another instance of an airport I don't really fly into much but I decided to and yet again the default MS afcad is for lack of a better word, "nasty". This is an accuarate an AFCAD for Norfolk as it's gonna get folks. I've managed to include all terminal gates with accurate numbering and airline assignments as per the Norfolk airport website. Cargo areas and general aviation parking are also provided. This should definetely improve your experience in and out of the Norfolk Int'l Airport. As a note to users so that you do not think it was an error on my part, MS in their infinite grace decided to put the terminal almost on top of each other leaving a tiny space in between with which to park, let alone taxi. You may notice that when AI pushback they may pushback onto the aircraft behind them at times, there is, unfortunately nothing I can do about this short of removing all those gates and then you'd lose 50% of the actual gates in the airport...If someone at a future date makes some good ORF scenery, I'll update the AFCAD accordingly. Having said that, this is 10 times better then what the default MS afcad provides. Note: Independance Air is now using gate B18. The current AFCAD does not have a designator for that airline. Any of you flying
Independance or using them with AI they park at that gate.

| Kugaaruk CYBB and DEW Pelly Bay CWPB in Nunavut, Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Kugaaruk is on the coast of northern mainland Canada on the Boothia Peninsula, 60 miles into a deep north-south fjord-like inlet called Pelly Bay. The name was changed from Pelly Bay in 1999, and the population is around 800. Gjoa Haven is 150 miles to the west, and Hall Beach just over 200 miles to the east. Six miles south of the village, and connected by a gravel road, there is a NWS station and what remains of a DEW Auxiliary Site; the DEW site was closed in 1992, a year after the NWS station became operational. There is also a 3,350 feet long gravel runway beside Barrow Lake 2 miles east of the site, Pelly Bay CWPB. Kugaaruk airfield is adjacent to the village and the 5,000 feet of 100 feet wide gravel runway is aligned 049T/229T where T stands for "true" as opposed to magnetic. There are flights by First Air and Canadian North and the AI includes a daily flight of each from Yellowknife via Gjoa Haven (as per real life) plus a cargo visit by Buffalo. Although the runway is long enough to accomodate a 737 it is not licensed for regular scheduled jet flights; the reason for this is that the approach lighting is "inadequate". Included here is a new .bgl for Gjoa Haven which will remove the small hold short line from the gravel; my mistake.
