FS2004 Project Open Sky (POSKY) Airbus A340-300 in the colours of Virgin Nigeria Airways. This is ex-VS G-VBUS. Has all the great features common to POSKY's A340s, and also includes updated FDEs giving a more realistic approach speed as well as better climb rates at real climb power. Textures are in DXT3 format to improve loading time. Enjoy!

File Description:
Previously the Mamba test bed G-AHXU/VX231, this airframe was passed on to Alvis at Coventry to test both the Leonides Major engine and nacelle for the then forthcoming HPR3 Herald. First flown at Woodley in this format on 15th March 1955, it eventually went to Armstrong Siddeley for further test work but was wfu and scrapped in October 1959 at Bitteswell.

cfs2/Bell P39Q Airacobra 100 29004 Soviet. Painted over The B24 Guy's P39D Overhaul Model. Flown by: Lt. Col. Aleksandr Ivanovich Pokryshkin, 16th regiment (16 GIAP), summer 1944. Col. Pokryshkin was an Ace with 55 victories (at the time he flew this aircraft). This aircraft is decked out with the "Victory Stars" as the national emblems (red star with white outline with yet another fine-lined red outline). The victory stars began to become popular in 1944, and went on to be the present day national insignia. Note the variety of displayed national insignia. For more information regarding Col. Bell P39D-2 Airacobra White 37 41-38428 Soviet. Painted over The B24 Guy's P39D Overhaul Model. Pilot: Lt. V.I. Fadeev, CO of the 3-rd Squadron, 16 GIAP. Kuban', April-May, 1943. According to 16 GIAP documents, during 394 combat missions/51 encounters Fadeev scored 17 personal and 3 shared kills (from which 14 Bf-109 and 1 Ju-87 while flying Airacobra from April 4 to May 5, 1943). Fadeev was killed in action on May 5, 1943 and was posthumously awarded the Golden Star. Note the lack of national insignia on the upper wing surfaces, and the sky-blue field behind the fuselage insignia. Complete Texture Folder, with Damage Files, included. By revev ([email protected]). File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2267, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #15. Pilot: Lt. Donald G. Smith, Co-Pilot: Lt. Griffith P. Williams, Navigator/ Bombardier: Lt. Howard A. Sessler, Flight Engineer: Sgt. Edward J. Saylor, Gunner: Lt. Thomas R. White. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included.
