South West Aviation started at Exeter in 1966 commencing operations with a Piper Aztec. By early 1968 the airline had grown and acquired a Shorts Skyvan on lease and had established footholds at Bristol Lulsgate and Swansea as well as Exeter. Late 1968 they acquired their first DC3 aircraft G-APBC which operated numerous charter flights within UK and to Ireland and the rest of Europe. However, in April 1969 'BC started charter operations between Norwich, Tesside and Aberdeen in support of the North Sea oil industry. 1970 saw the introduction of scheduled air services to Cherbourg from both Exeter and Southampton using the DC3. In 1972 SWA were bought out by Ashford based Air Freight Ltd and the name of South West Aviation disappeared. Requires default DC-3.

Silver City Vanguard 952F G-AYLD Download

File Description:
On return from lease with Air Trader of Sweden G-AYLD found itself again without immediate placement so Air Holdings set outbout using the machine again. This time the name Silver City was resurrected. Air Holdings owned the name as it was owner of British Air Ferries who had acquired the name in the merger that formed Britsh United Air Ferries. The days of mass Bristol Freighter flights was not to be repeated as the lone Vanguard plodded about from February to November 1973. It was to be joined by G-AYFN which was delivered in March but did not enter service as it was needed for lease to a re-financed Invicta. That aircraft's place was to be taken by a BEA aircraft on lease but that machine was not delivered and toward the end of the year it was decided not to continue flying. Silver City quietly faded away again, but this time it was for ever. Requires the FSDS Vanguard model by Rick Piper.

Air Viking Vanguard 952 TF-AVA Download

File Description:
The ex Air Canada Vanguards acquired by Air Holdings were flown by many airlines in the early days. Many of them were only for a short time as startup airlines took them on with high hopes only to fail or change direction. Air Viking was one of two Icelandic airlines leasing Vanguards in 1970-71. Operating this single Vanguard from a base in Keflavik it flew to many destinations even flying as far as the Canary Islands. Delivered in June 1970 it was repossessed by Air Holding when the airline failed in December of that year. This particular machine came of note when, as CF-TKD it flew the first TCA Westbound flight on 01 February 1961 and again when flying for Invicta as G-AXOY it made the last ever UK passenger Vanguard flight flying a Luton-Luton charter on 26 October 1975. Sold to EAS as F-BXOH it did not enter service but was stored as a spares source at Perpignan. Requires the FSDS Vanguard model by Rick Piper.

Starways Viscount 708 G-ARIR Download

File Description:
Founded in 1948 based at Blackpool, Starways moved to Liverpool the following year. It expanded throughout the 1950 and in 1961 this Viscount was acquired from Air France where it had served since June 1954 as F-BGNS. At the end of 1962 it was joined by G-APZB a series 707 which came from Tradair. In late 1963 a co-operation agreement was signed with British Eagle which was in effect a take over of Starways operations. Effective from 1st January 1964 British Eagle Viscounts appeared with Starways titles. G-APZB was sold to Channel and this machine returned to France and a new career with Air Inter as F-BLHI. It returned to the UK with Alidair in June 1975 and after various leases and livery changes was sold in December 1983 to Janus. Eleven months later it was sold to MMM Aero Services of Zaire as 9Q-CAH in November 1984. However it only got as far as Ostend in Belgium where it was broken up in December 1988. Guernsey Airlines Viscount 735 G-BFYZ Download

File Description:
In April 1978 Alidair bought the three Viscounts from Iraqi Airlines. One had been damaged beyond repair in a landing accident a few years before and was a spares source and the other two flew to Castle Donnington to be prepared for service. One went to Alidair Scotland as G-BFMW while this machine became G-BFYZ with the newly formed Guernsey Airlines. Taking up UK marks on 1st December 1978 it was leased to Guernsey Airlines on the 6th of the same month. the airline was up and running for the summer season or 1979. Wearing the name "Sarnia" the aircraft served throughout the Alidair network, with its Guernsey services often being operated by Alidair machines. This was not to be a long career as on October 25 1979 while landing at Kirwall the number four propeller struck the ground causing it to veer off the runway and the undercarriage to collapse. It was replaced by G-BDRC. Requires the FSDS Viscount 700 model by Rick Piper

Terrace CYXT in British Columbia, Canada - REVISED Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This version includes the correct Piper Cub texture, unreported by all but one downloader (why?).

Terrace is fifteen miles east and inland from Prince Rupert, which is 500 miles north of Vancouver up the BC coast. It is at the point in the mountains where two fjords meet, one coming from Prince Rupert and the other from Kitimat. The airport is a couple of miles south of the town and on the south side of the Skeene River. There are two runways, and the main one is a recently-extended 7,500 feet long and lighted 33/15. The second is 5,373 feet of unlit 03/21. The apron has been enlarged to be able to accommodate a Boeing 737 so I have parked an Air Canada jet there, but the pics show the planes that do fly to Terrace, and these are Air Canada and Hawk Air Dash 8-300's. The original aircraft and the textures are down-loadable and and can be used for AI.

RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) - Cumbria, UK Download

File Description:
This scenery is a representation of RNAS Anthorn (HMS Nuthatch) prior to runway and taxiway upgrades completed in 1948. It is not 100% accurate and no claim is being made that it is. The scenery was made using ADE and is intended for use in FSX along with Horizon GenX VFR scenery but should work ok in Basic FSX.

Some History: Anthorn air field (also known as RAF Anthorn, RNAS Anthorn and HMS Nuthatch) was an airfield approximately 430 KM north-northwest of London The airfield was built in february 1918 as a Fleet Air Arm (FAA) airfield. It was abandoned after World War I ended, however. The RAF reinstated the airfield at the beginning of World War II as an emergency landing ground for nearby RAF Silloth. The site was taken over by the Royal Navy in December 1942, and renamed the site RNAS Anthorn. It was commissioned in September 1944 as 'HMS Nuthatch'. The airfield served as No. ARDU (Aircraft Receipt and Dispatch Unit), a unit that accepts aircraft from their manufacturers and prepares them for operational use.
The last official flight took off from the airfield in November 1957. It was then put on Care and Maintenance, before it closed down in March 1958. In 1961 the site was chosen to become a NATO VLF transmitting site for communicating with submarines. Construction of the site, by Continental Electronics of Dallas, U.S.A., began in 1962. The station was accepted on behalf of the MoD in November 1964.
