With Union Of Burma Airways becomes awake memories at a country, that was among the richest acreage in Asia once economically. The Airline Code of UB is used with domestic flights still today, with the international flights, the airline code was changed effective at the 22 April, 2002 from UB in 8M . Burma today is called Myanmar and the airline is called Myanmar Airways International (MAI). Myanmar considers today one of the poorest countries of the world unfortunately.

After opening of the Asian-Highway A1, that should lead from Viatnam up to Turkey, the Mawlamyine-Airport VYMM will increase in meaning drastically. Mawlamyine (Moulmein), the fourth-biggest city and former capital of Burma (Myanmar) lies only barely 80 km to the west of the Thai border and in the stretch-section Myawaddy-Thaton, with his construction was begun in the spring 2005. The bridge over the Thanlwin-River was already handed over to the traffic on February 05, 2005. On the new Airport big airplanes, like the B-744 and the A-388, can start and land. This scenery is fewer done for players, but for flight-fanatics. It will give up each type of playing consciously (= more FPS). At the buildings became only the from MS " ugly " dock E replace through a glass-construction. Special attention was given the taxiways and parkings. Almost all taxiways and -signs was adjusted again and lacking again creates. Also the South-approach on RWY 34 with ILS and the Parking-Sectors 1 to 4 is with it.
