DC-4 / C-54 / Carvair sound.cfg

File Description:
In my search for sounds that would be (nearly) matching the real sounds of the Douglas C-54/DC-4 and the Aviation Traders ATL.98 Carvair (vehicle ferry conversion of the C-54 and DC-4), I struck on the DC-3 Sound Pack compiled by Des Braban several years ago. Although intended as a DC-3 sound set, it doesn't quite sound like the Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp C-series (aka R-1830) engines which powered the majority of the DC-3/C-47/C-53 aircraft. Instead it sounds much more like the Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp D-series (aka R-2000) engines which powered the C-54/DC-4 and, later on, the Pan American converted Hi-Per DC-3, the EC-47Q, the DHC-4 Caribou and ATL.98 Carvair. In order to make the sound set appropriate for the four engined C-54/DC-4/Carvair, I slightly altered the sound.cfg by just doubling the number of engines and copying some existing lines. Nothing else has been changed. All the wav files remained unaltered and no wav files have been added. The result, however, is a full sound which is very close to that of the real C-54/DC-4/Carvair. In order to get the proper sound, you will require Des Braban's DC-3 Sound Package (dc3sndpk.zip). Original sound.cfg by Des Braban; revised for Douglas DC-4/C-54 and Aviation Traders ATL.98 Carvair by Maarten Brouwer.

FS2002 Val-U-Prop Plane and Panel

File Description:
FS2002 Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-3 Plane and Panel Val-U-Prop is a (fictional) rogue airline based in Bloomington, Indiana, that flies everything from VIPs to sheep manure anyplace and anytime. VP's motto is "No job too small; No fee too large," and our DC-3's and DC-6's can be seen hedge-hopping into various obscure airports throughout the USA. Based on the lovely DC-3 Pluna by Daniel Gazzano, this aircraft is a re-paint of the fabulous DC-3 OH-LCH by Jan Visser, Erik Ellis, Roy Chaffin, Ian Roper and Bill Rambow, to which FS2002 lights have been added. Panel includes everything on main panel, except for GPS, so there is no tabbing. (Default pop-up radio stack is also included.) Panel is based on photographs by Bill Blanchard (lower panel) and Shawn Clark (upper). The very aluminal wing views were shot by Thomas Andre Hjelmen, and the 1930s cabin was photographed by Ben Wang and is populated with various VIPs. Tehran area SRTM mesh

File Description:
This terrain mesh scenery is centered on Tehran city. Ranging from 34.1°N to 37.5°N and 49.2°E to 54.8°E, it includes Elbourz moutain range as well as Caspian sea shores (28 meters below sea lavel). Based on SRTM Data (3 arcsec, 90m) and sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) using Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04". While only tested with Fs2004, this mesh should also run with FS2002. SRTM 3 arcsec dataset has numerous and sometimes huge void areas. But thanks to John Child's beautiful and powerful "Blackart" utility it's now easy to patch these areas with lower resolution dataset: I took the coupled interpolation method to merge SRTM 3-arcsec with SRTM 30-arcsec dataset when needed. This gives the best results, as patched areas with 30-arcsec data are blending naturally with surrounding 3-arcsec mesh. Of course the resolution of patched areas is quite poor, but still a bit better than the default LOD5 mesh. However, in exception of Demavend Peak, the SRTM data was quite good for this area and didn't need much patching so that the rendering is allways excellent.

FSX/P3D/FS2004 TAI DC-7C 1957

File Description: This is a repaint of the DC-7C in TAI colors. The freeware Cal Classic DC-7C by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. TAI operated 3 DC-7Cs from 1957 to 1963. This particular aircraft F-BIAP was purchased in 1957 and two years later, on a flight to the Ivory Coast, tragically crashed on take off at Bordeaux. Textures are 32bit BMP. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FS2004, FSX & P3D v1-3, and FS2004.

Austrian Airlines Douglas DC-3D OE-LBD

File Description:
Austrian Airlines Douglas DC-3D OE-LBD,C/N 42976,ex SE-CFW with Linjeflyg and OY-DCY,latter transfered to Capella Aircharter as SE-CFW.Destroyed while used by Hilair.This plane was part of the last 28 DC-3´s built by Douglas at Oklahoma City from parts of a Army C-117 order cancelled after VJ Day. Austrian Airlines started domestic services with DC-3 in may 1963; the airline operated with two C-47A and two DC-3D in the 60's.

Pre-set Landing Practice (for default: 737-400, 747-400, and 777-300)

File Description:
Ever wanted a good set-up landing for the 737, 747 or 777? Well I've made 3 files with each aircraft at the EXACT same position, in their CORRECT landing configuration, (weight, flaps, speed, autobrakes, autospoilers, landing gear, lights, etc). As well as good practice, this is a good way to compare the 3 aircraft as they are in the same positions. You are landing at an airport on an island in the middle of the atlantic, with a nice lengthy runway, and no traffic ;) Have fun!

Lisunov Li-2 LOT Polish '50th (DC-3 Russian made)

File Description:
From 1945 on, Polish LOT was the world’s only airline to operate the Douglas DC-3 and the plane’s Soviet license version Lisunov Li-2 simultaneously. This is an Li-2, but only a trained eye could distinguish it from the American original: the engine covers were slightly different. LOT operated up to 10 Li-2, serving first, after WWII, domestic air route Warsaw-Gdansk. Archive contains LOT textures for FS2004 default DC-3. Attention: you will find it under "Lisunov" not under "Douglas" in menu.
