RAF Shepherds Grove - Suffolk, England

File Description:
RAF Shepherds Grove is a former Royal Air Force station located 9.9 miles (15.9 km) north-east of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England. The Station was originally built for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) Eighth Air Force during the Second World War. However the facility was not used by the USAAF and was opened by No. 3 Group RAF on 3 April 1944. The name came from a small copse nearby and the airfield is close to Walsham le Willows in Suffolk. It was occupied by No. 196 Squadron RAF in January 1945 as a base for Operation Varsity, supporting the Rhine crossing. Various American units occupied the station after WW2 but ended their use of the unit in December 1958. On 22 July 1956, No. 82 Squadron RAF was activated at Shepherds Grove as a Thor missile unit. Thor launching sites were built on the main airfield and became operational in 1959. The base was closed in 1966. Third party files are required - see the readme.txt for details.

South China Sea Bases

File Description:
This file contains five man-made bases with helipads which have been created in recent times by China, AND one man-made island airport with a large runway in the same area. The South China Sea is an area with disputed claims, with no natural land the UN has made several rulings. Many nations conduct what is called 'Right of Navigation' covered by the UNCLOS Part VII, which allows freedom of overflight and navigation. Also included is the Fuluo North East AB on Hainan Island. Note these are simple basic sceneries to allow flying around the area in FSX. There was nothing in FSX, and many dont have ICAO IDs assigned. These are not payware quality, however they were created with ADE. Thanks goes to them. Beech Baron 58 panel - NAV/GPS switch in VC and Landing Panel

File Description:
(This update includes files missing from my first one.) This adds a NAV/GPS switch which is missing from the original Standard Beech Baron 58 VC panel. NAV/GPS switch is located next to the audio panel (see picture). Also included is a Landing panel in 2D and slightly higher resolution graphics. Works for SP1, not tested for SP2.

Lockhart River Air Crash Simulation V2 with Standard and Enhanced Realism modes

File Description:
This mission accurately simulates the flight details, weather conditions and radio traffic of the Lockhart River Air Disaster that occured in Queensland, Australia on the 7th of May 2005. This mission can now be played in two ways. In the standard mode (the default) there are guidance gates, relaxed flight profiles and no phase timers to beat. When you complete the mission you will have a very good idea on how the incicent happened and you will be rewarded with the standard medal. The enhanced realsim mode is tough and challenging. To succeed you have to fly each phase of the mission to a tight timeframe and flight profile, overfly the crash site and safely land at Lockhart River, all in IFR conditions with no autopilot. If you succeed and complete the mission you are rewarded with the enhanced medal. Are you good enough?

Taku Arm Scenery and AI Package for Holger Sandmann's Glacier Bay v2

File Description:
This is an add-on scenery and AI package, for the Taku Arm area of Holger Sandmann's excellent Glacier Bay v2. It features 3 new air strips, and highlights "The Great Taku Boat Race", as well as other boat and aircraft traffic. Other eye candy include the odd remote cabin, a camp ground, the Annex Creek Power Station and more. Included are the necessary files and links for all AI traffic, including "The Great Taku Boat Race". There is also a repaint for Mikko Maliniemi's excellent Maule M7-260, in the 'Taku Ice Tours' livery. Three flights included. File Description:
XL Airways Summer 2008 updated FlightPlans to include their scheduled flights from Gatwick and also XL Airways Eire, which is why I have updated 'C-GOAF's texture for the Aardvark Boeing 737-800 (winglet) included in this zip.
