| Mail Run for Volunteers...1939 |
|
File Description:
A Salute to the RCAF pilots who never returned...The war in Europe is nearing and the Canadian Armed Forces are beefing up.
North Mail Route-34 flown by Conrad Wooly and yourself for more than ten years is a weekly routine
flying to several towns and fishing communities along the northwest shores.
This week the RCAF has sent to many volunteers their acceptance papers who
will probably be flying in European Skies soon. This then, is a proud flight, knowing you
are being part of the hammer which will bring the Nazis to their end.---The flight is flown by "Pilotage", eyeballing your map and terrain so I have includded instructions on how to place it in your FSX kneeboard...." They Flew higher than eagles, they flew to Peace"

| Chena Marina AK28 in Fairbanks Alaska |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Chena Marina AK28 is a float plane "pond" close to and southwest of Fairbanks International Airport, with a gravel strip alongside the water; the "strip" is actually a gravel road that functions as a runway when required. Or maybe it's a runway that functions as a road? Though it doesn't come close to the activity level of Lake Hood in Anchorage Alaska it is still a fairly busy place, and in fact Fairbanks is a hub of summer floatplane activity with a water runway at the International Airport and another "pond" known as Metro Field that is between Fairbanks and the river, plus a base on the Chena River. In this download there is a scenery folder, land-class folders, an AFCAD folder, and a "Traffic" folder, and you will definitely need Ultimate Terrain Alaska Canada.

| TDFCalc2004 (Version 3) |
|
File Description:
This package is for FS2004 and FS2002 terrain designers. TDFCalc2004 is made for use with FSUIPC and FS2004. This is a version that includes true heading readings, and LOD8 Zone coordinates for VTP2 lines and polys. It is an FSUIPC registered freeware program that requires version 3.? of FSUIPC.dll installed to the FS2004 Module folder. FSUIPC is avaliable on the internet, and this program requires an application registration entered within FSUIPC. Usage with FS2002 or CFS2 requires no registration with the older versions of FSUIPC. LandCalc and TDFCalc2 are small programs which require the input of Latitude and Longitude, in 'DD:MM.decimal' format. Landcalc returns the names of the "CUSTOM" textures required by photoreal ( CUSTOM ) BGLs, and LandClass BGLs ( using values #253 or #252 ). TDFCalc2 returns valuable information concerning the X, Y coordinates needed for the creation of LWM and VTP polygons/lines. TMFViewerCalc requires input as Decimal Degrees.

| Palestinian Airlines 1998 AI Package |
|
File Description:
Palestinian Airlines was the short-lived hopeful airline of Palestine. Until the opening of the Yasser Arafat International Airport on the Gaza Strip(GZA\LVGZ) in November 1998, all flights were based out of the Al Arish Airport(AAC\HEAR) in Egypt. As I find GZA more interesting, I have made a version of these plans that use GZA and a version that use AAC, as in the September OAG, all flights were using AAC. Scheduled flights were flown by a lone Fokker 50, with 3x weekly to AMM and 2x weekly to JED. The 727-200 was doing charters to cities in the region, so I made representative plans for it using photo data and some other information I was able to find out about the routes and even general timings. The 727-200 departs GZA/AAC at 0830 daily and spends the night upon arrival, so you can often catch it at the home base while still seeing it abroad. Textures for the AIA 727-200 and NAAI Fokker 50 by APG Designs\Antoine Calleja and Christian Gold included. Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Frame rate friendly (all object designed with GMax and LOD technique) and full night lighting. | TEAL - Auckland to Chatham Island - November 1952 |
|
File Description:
In the 1950's TEAL were operating a flying-boat service to Chatham Island, out to the east of New Zealand in the South Pacific.
This flight is set in November 1952 and takes you from the TEAL base in Mechanic's Bay, Auckland, to the island.
Your navigation is by NDB's across the north island of New Zealand and then by dead-reckoning until within radio distance of the NDB on Chatham Island.
Your aircraft is the Short Solent IV and, if you do not have this aircraft in your FSim library, look for it under Jens Kristensen and/or Short.
Enjoy the flight and keep an eye out for a further TEAL episode in TEAL's history when I publish the Coral Route, currently being flight-tested.

| The flight of Frigate Bird II |
|
File Description:
By 1951 the final ocean to be traversed for air travel was the South Pacific between Australia and South America.
On 13 March 1951 Cpt. P.G. Taylor set off from the flying boat base at Rose Bay in Sydney with a crew of four. They made a shakedown flight to Grafton, NSW, landing on the Clarence River, and next morning headed east for South America. Stops were made at Noumea; Fiji; Samoa; Cook Islands; Tahiti; and Mangareva, French Oceania and then Easter Island before arriving in Valparaiso on 26th. March 1951.
The aircraft was subsequently presented to Captain Taylor by the then Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies, in recognition of the first air-crossing of the South Pacific Ocean and other pioneering flights.

| Mayaguana (MYMM) - The Bahamas |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Mayaguana is the easternmost island in the Bahamas with Bahamasair providing Nassau and Inagua air connections. The airport utilizes part of an abandoned 11,000 foot USAF runway. The runway is listed as 7300 foot long, but 2400 feet on the east end is closed indefinitely. A new terminal building was completed, but no apron or taxiway connects it to the runway so it is unoccupied. Construction was started on another terminal, apron and taxiway as well as runway repaving, but the project is currently abandoned. All of the aforegoing is represented by this scenery. The scenery includes custom scenery objects; placement of library objects and landclass changes. Scenery is based on Bing Maps and photos taken locally, and it is optimized for use with UTX-TAC.

| Classic Ship files for the English Channel |
|
File Description:
Classic Ship files for the English Channel east of Southampton and Cherbourg and the coast of eastern England as far north as Newcastle. This download for FS9 contains Classic Ship files for use with the Classic Scenery available from Tom Gibson's California Classics website: http://www.calclassic.com
You will need to have installed the truly excellent Classic Ships Library created by Mike Stevens, which is part of Wolfgang Gersch's Classic Scenery Libraries; this is available here and there is a link to it on the California Classics scenery page. The technique used to place the ships and their wakes is described in David 'Opa' Marshall's 'Add Animated Wakes to Static Ships - An Illustrated Tutorial', which is also available here, and which inspired the present download.
