FSX Mesh South America Project:
This terrain mesh file is a part of a whole project covering all the Continent
of South America and some islands, divided in tiles identified in a map by its
column (letters) and rows (numbers).
Those files were multi-LOD compiled from 90m SRTM2 source data, reprocessed
with 3DEM to remove voids and spikes, providing a 76.4m (LOD9) horizontal
resolution topography intended for use only in FSX updated with SP1.
Although not well documented, to improve performance, the updated FSX loads DEM
files in threads and only the closer terrain (about 5-10 NM from the point of view)
is rendered in high detail, while at far distances FSX shows up its default low
resolution mesh, when there is not a third part terrain mesh compiled in all
others intermediate level of details (multi-LOD).
THIS FILE:

covers the area inside the boundaries:

File Description:
This little area is a part of a big area named LA RIOJA. La Rioja is a photographic scenery made with the SDK of Microsoft method and using the elevations of Spain following the SMG (Spain Mesh Group)system. Also it has houses and trees made with AUTOGEN. The scenery is 380 MB big and it has more than 634 photos seamless.The resolution is 4,75m/pixel, and the area is about 200x150 Km2. If anybody need the big scenery please contact me. It´s necessary 1 CD.

File Description:
This is mesh scenery for Thailand. It was created using SRTM 3ARCSEC data using SRTM to BGL. I did not attempt to correct any data, or fix blank areas by merging with other mesh, but overall I'm satisfied with the results and have noticed few problems. It may also work in FS2002, but I did not try this.

File Description:
Created from SRTM 3 arc second data and re-sampled @LOD9 (best fit for this data).
The created area extends from N35E025 (lower left corner) to N44E047 (upper right corner).
You need all the five bgl-files plus the two correction files to cover the whole area.
Otherwise you will have only a coverage of the corresponding file. Matthew Style's SRTM_3ARCSEC_TO_BGL program was used to interpolate the srtm data and automate the bgl file creation (Many Thanks to Matthew for his great utility).

File Description:
This is a terrain mesh scenery for the whole lesser antilles, from the Anguilla Isl (north) to Trinidad Isl (south), including a small part of Venezuela.
Based on SRTM Data (3 arc/ sec), generated with Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04", sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) with 5 interpolation passes.
While tested under Fs2004, this mesh should also run in FS2002.

File Description:
This terrain mesh scenery is centered on Tehran city. Ranging from 34.1°N to 37.5°N and 49.2°E to 54.8°E, it includes Elbourz moutain range as well as Caspian sea shores (28 meters below sea lavel).
Based on SRTM Data (3 arcsec, 90m) and sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) using Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04". While only tested with Fs2004, this mesh should also run with FS2002.
SRTM 3 arcsec dataset has numerous and sometimes huge void areas. But thanks to John Child's beautiful and powerful "Blackart" utility it's now easy to patch these areas with lower resolution dataset: I took the coupled interpolation method to merge SRTM 3-arcsec with SRTM 30-arcsec dataset when needed. This gives the best results, as patched areas with 30-arcsec data are blending naturally with surrounding 3-arcsec mesh. Of course the resolution of patched areas is quite poor, but still a bit better than the default LOD5 mesh. However, in exception of Demavend Peak, the SRTM data was quite good for this area and didn't need much patching so that the rendering is allways excellent.

| Northern Oman SRTM mesh |

File Description:
This terrain mesh scenery covers northern of Oman emirate as well as some parts of United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaima, Fujiarah...). The southern and western boundaries are approx 22°N / 54°E.
No part of Iran has been included.
Based on SRTM Data (3 arcsec, 90m) and sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) using Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04". While only tested with Fs2004, this mesh should also run with FS2002.

File Description:
This mesh covers the western part of Iran and some parts of Iraq. Major Iranian cities are: Kermanshah, Khorram Abad, Dezful, Awhaz, Hamadan. Major Iraqi cities are: Al-Kut, As-Sulaimania.
Based on SRTM Data (3 arcsec, 90m) and sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m) using Matthew Styles's program "SRTM To BGL v1.04".
Biggest SRTM "holes" (void data) were patched with SRTM 30-arcsec dataset thanks to John Child's beautiful and powerful "Blackart" utility.
