Peawanuck is on the bank of the Winisk River, 23 miles upstream from where the river empties into the Hudson Bay just west of James Bay. It has a population of around 240, and was established in 1986 when the original settlement (Winisk) at the mouth of the river was destroyed by a flood. The airport is on a bluff in a corner of the river at 171 feet ASL, with a gravel runway just over 3,500 feet long and aligned 11-29. There is only basic runway lighting, with no ILS, VASI, or PAPI; there is also no apron lighting, or fuel. Service is provided by Air Creebec with connector flights to Moosonee and Timmins, and on to Montreal. A search of their timetable did not provide any information regarding timings but I made the AI flight from Timmins a daily one; it is probably only once or twice a week. There is also a daily private Cessna from Moosonee. Winisk, at the mouth of the river, has another gravel runway which is over 6,000 feet long. There is also a large hangar and to the north the remaining buildings and fuel tanks etc of a Radar Control site which was closed in 1965 after only 7 years of use.

FSX Boeing 747-8i Virgin Galactic with advanced VC by Alejandro Rojas Lucena and VC Textures Upgrade by Enrique Cornejo, founder of the Flightsim Workshop Project. This gives the b747 a payware Virtual Cockpit look and now with green leather tapestry on the sides of the seats. It even has a pilot jacket hanged in the rear of the cockpit (besides the right jumpseat). The panel.cfg and the aircraft.cfg have been assembled and edited by the Flightsim Workshop Team. Now you can pop up "My icons" window in the Virtual Cockpit to easily reach the following windows: GPS, avionics, map, ATC, Climb/Radio Altimeter/Spoiler switch, auto-break switch, throttle quadrant, clock, descent meter, kneeboard and overhead panel. A new feature in My Icons Window I added is a new Pitot Heat switch with ON and Off features, (XML gauge by Enrique Cornejo). cold weather, the Pitot Heat switch works just like in real life, so if its turned off the air speed indicator will stop working, so make sure you turn the Pitot Heat switch on before taking off!
The autopilot ON switches have green lights which make them look more realistic. Center ATC identification in this aircraft is "Boeing 747". We have also fixed the position of the strobe lights so when the aircraft is flying they are in the right place, so turn on the strobe lights switch after take off. The cockpit view from the pilots seat is now more comfortable because the distance between the cockpit and the seat is longer.
The aircraft has new engine views (from both wings) and new Virtual Cockpit interior views from the left, right and central jump seats. The brakes has a differential brake system to make smoother turns in ground. The Virgin Galactic Spaceship texture is wonderful and it has a unique paint scheme by Enrique Cornejo which also includes details such as some stains caused by humidity in the fuselage and the wing flaps and other details just like a real aircraft. Real smoke in the four engines, just select key, more cabin views, realistic cockpit and engines sound & more realistic night VC lights and fuselage night textures, in the VC just select key and reset the overhead Instrument panel light dim switch in the overhead panel. The aileron parameters have also improved, so now the right and left turns are smoother. This aircraft uses the Project Opensky FSX Boeing B747-800 Model OSX748V4_GENX(MDL), and includes the gauge window Posky Utility to view the main stairs, ground cargo servicing, etc. The engine sounds are edited like the real ones with cockpit ambient, so you can enjoy a pleasant flight. The Flight Management Computer (FMC) is fixed and looks like a payware instrument. The VC includes FMC, Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multi-Function Display (MDF) displayed in the correct size. The virtual cockpit also has an Engine-Indicating and Crew-Alerting System also known as EICAS, Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS), working wipers, cabin lights, fire suppression, avionics switch, fuel cross feed, and you can identify those instruments in the overhead panel because they are bordered with color lines. You can also find landing lights switches, taxi light switch, engine generators, APU generator, battery switch, starter switches, de-ice switch, general lights switches which are a great work of Alejandro. So now the whole cockpit and texture upgrade with all these improvements looks better than a payware version. The clock numbers are now in orange which makes them look better and easily recognizable. | Cedar Lake Logging Camp |

File Description:
After flying my first real life solo flight I decided to celebrate by making a fun scenery for flightsim. Cedar Lake Logging Camp was designed to be a great destination for Northern Ontario (Canada) Bush pilots. It is situated northwest of Dryden. It has one 1800 foot gravel runway with trees on both sides for challenging approaches and takeoffs, a helipad and a dock for float operations (visible). There are several cabins on site as well as a hanger and fuel station on the gravel apron. There is a fuel barge and cargo crates by the float docks. For the bush atmosphere there are several deer in the area, a tractor pulling a mower by the runway, and two static aircraft (a Piper Cub by the hanger and a Cessna 185 on floats at the fuel barge). An AI aircraft is integrated into the file as well - the piper cub flies to Red Lake in the morning and to Dryden in the afternoon. There is also an integrated AFCAD file so the camp will show up in the flight simulator database and in the GPS. There are 5 starting locations including the runway ends, 2 parking spots on the apron, the helipad, and beside the dock. I hope you enjoy this as much as I will.

This is the first of five sceneries around Lac Saint-Jean in Quebec, Canada, to the west of the St Lawrence River and close to Bagotville air base. Air Saguenay are a mainly float plane company that operates hunting and fishing flights to company-owned outposts in northern Quebec, with a fleet of almost 30 aircraft including 11 de Havilland Otters and 14 Beavers as of the last count. Their HQ float base is on Lac Sebastien, which is 30 miles east of the far larger Lac Saint-Jean. There are screenshots of this scenery and others in the series that follow this post in the Lac Saint-Jean QC folder. This scenery includes in the AI an Air Saguenay turbine Otter on floats, which has been modified to operate as an AI floatplane with a new config file. The ai also includes other GA float planes. There are also planes listed that will be required only for the future posts in this series, and the relevant textures etc will be provided at the date of the posts. Some of the Beaver AI planes will only be available if you already have the aerosoft Beaver installed. There are HTAI planes used as AI in this series, updated by Nick Tselepides, and the float planes for this part of the series are included here, Cessna 185's.

The town of Kotzebue is in the far northwest of Alaska, and these are villages to the north and then the east of Kotzebue on the South Slope of the Brooks Range of mountains. There will be further additions. Noatak is a small village (population now around 520 and rising) on the west bank of the Noatak River, around 50 miles north of Kotzebue. It is on the edge of the Noatak National Preserve and as the only village on the river is the centre for fishing, rafting, canoe, and other types of outdoor expeditions. The airfield has almost 5,000 feet of lit gravel just south of the town, aligned 18-36. There are scheduled flights by Era (now renamed Ravn) and by Bering Air, both of them originating in Kotzebue and routing north to Noatak, Kivalina, Point Hope, and then back again. The AI includes these flights plus a daily Everts Air cargo flight and GA. There are new bgl's for Kotzebue; the development of the northern and eastern AI meant that more dedicated parking spaces were needed at Kotzebue. The two new Bering Air planes are as listed in the AI folder, and there is also a new Era Cessna 208 to be installed. The next South Slope scenery will be Noorvik ORV, to the east of Kotzebue.

| RAF Tholthorpe |

File Description:
RAF Tholthorpe opened in the late 1930s as a grass airfield, and operated as a sub-station of RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
From August 1940 to December 1940, Tholthorpe was a landing field for Whitley bombers of No. 58 Squadron RAF and No. 51 Squadron RAF based at Linton. From January 1941 to June 1943, Tholthorpe underwent maintenance to upgrade to Class A standards, with three intersecting concrete runways.
RAF Tholthorpe was assigned to No. 6 Group RCAF in June 1943. RCAF squadrons stationed here included No. 434 Squadron "Bluenose", 431 Squadron "Iroquois", 420 Squadron "Snowy Owl", and 425 Squadron "Alouette".
No. 434 Squadron, flying Halifax bombers, was formed and headquartered at Tholthorpe airfield from June 1943 until the squadron was moved to Croft. In July 1943, 431 Squadron moved to Tholthorpe airfield from Burn. It was later moved to Croft airfield as well. Not only were the operational squadrons quartered here, also their service echelons, - respectively Nos. 9431 and 9434 Service Echelon - which were formed from the ground crew of nos. 431 and 434 Squadron on 3 November 1943 and who moved with their squadrons on to Croft in December 1943.
In December 1943 No. 420 and No. 425 Squadrons (together with their service echelons, nos. 9420 and 9425 Service Echelon were moved to Tholthorpe airfield from Dalton and Dishforth respectively. These squadrons had returned from service with Wellingtons in North Africa, and it took them several weeks to work up on the newly acquired Halifax bombers. They were therefore unable to fly their first raids from Tholthorpe until mid-February 1944.
No. 420 Squadron flew 160 operations from Tholthorpe airfield and lost 25 Halifax’s. No. 425 squadron flew 162 operations from Tholthorpe airfield and lost 28 Halifax’s. In all, 119 Halifax bombers were lost from Tholthorpe. In April and May 1945 nos. 420 and 425 Squadron converted to Avro Lancaster’s, which they took with them when they left for RCAF Debert, Nova Scotia, Canada in June 1945.
The station closed in June 1945.

Mexicana decided to transfer its fleet of Fokker 100 aircraft to Aerocaribe to change the airline's brand. Its new name is MexicanaClick, And it is an attempt to create a low cost mexican airline, starting operations in July 2005.
