File Description: Tips and Tricks - Number 14. In this issue there is a discussion of the MS Traffic Tool Box addon which many may not know exists. Numerous recommendations for new and different things to do and audition are also included as well as the usual assortment of "How-To's", links to useful sites, and much, much more. There is also a segment reviewing some exceptional aircraft design work. In addition there is a "from the e-mailbag" department where we try to answer a question of general interest submitted by a reader. Updated indexes by John Burford in .xls (Excel) and .pdf formats for the entire series are included. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

Riddle Airlines DC-4

File Description:
Riddle Airlines DC-4 This is Jens Kristensen's model repainted by Dave McQueen, April, 2006, textures only. The original aircraft is available at www.Avsim.com. You must download and install his DC-4 model for FS2004 to use these files. Look for DC4_V10.zip. Riddle Airlines began operations in 1945 as a non scheduled carrier. Later as a mostly all cargo airline it began scheduled operations and flew passenger/cargo flights for the US military. Riddle flew C46s, DC-4s, DC-6s, DC-7s, DC-8s and Armstrong Whitworth Argosy turboprops. The name changed to Airlift International in 1963. Airlift acquired Slick Airways in 1966 and managed to survive several bankruptcies only to go under for good in 1991. Riddle was founded by John Paul Riddle, also a founder of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Prescott, Arizona and Daytona Beach, Florida.

Montserrat Island - Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles, Caribbean Sea

File Description: A representation of Montserrat using photo-real scenery along with hand placed autogen. Montserrat is a British overseas territory located in the Leeward Islands, part of the chain of islands called the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Its capital city of Plymouth was destroyed by an eruption of the previously dormant Soufriere Hills volcano in 1995. Between 1997 and 2005, Montserrat had been accessible only by helicopters or boats. The airport's name was changed in July 2008 to honour John Osborne, long-standing Chief Minister of Montserrat and the airline FlyMontserrat has its headquarters on the airport property. For the best results of this scenery, PWSceneries Volume 5 has to be installed. Features included are custom photo scenery covering the entire island, hand placed autogen, detailed 3D Objects and custom buildings. Works in FSX and P3D.

Birmingham (EGBB) Complete Traffic Package V 1.0

File Description:
This is my first version of a project on my local airport Birmingham International. It consists of 2 folders, one has two afcad overlay files known as the 'Eurohub Terminal' and the 'Main Terminal'. The afcad files give Birmingham a lot more gates than the default and is made to be used with John Walker's Birmingham 2002 Scenery. The second folder consists of the flightplan and aircraft folder used, which will need to be compiled to your flight sim directory. The aircraft used are 100% realistic and have been researched from the official bhx site and schedules. The only flaw is that this version does not include any of the eurohub British Airways flights nor the Monarch charter flights leaving Birmingham. However in my next version i will include these as i have left the two most importaint airlines till last.

F-15C 27th Tactical Fighter Squadron

File Description:
Boeing/McDonnell-Douglas F-15C Eagle AF76027 of the 27th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Wing USAF from Langley AFB Virginia. The particular airframe represented in this repaint has been retired to the USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio USA. This aircraft features night lighting, afterburner, and wingtip vortex effects.

Olympic Airlines Airbus A300B4 605R Late 90s Livery

File Description:
As many of you noticed Harald Nehring also published an Olympic Airlines livery that is also available on the net. Apart from being very nice the things that made me repaint it was the blue colour, the name of the aircraft and the GE engine logos. As it was explained he used the original colour codes of the Olympic airways blue. So he was correct but the thing was that each graphics card and monitor combinations interpret the same blue in slight different colourations resulting in different blue in each of the users. So I painted the aircraft using a more close to reality blue colour (or at least i think in my monitor and graphics card), I have re-written the name in greek on the left side and in latin on the right side and also put the black GE logos on both the outer part of the engines. Nose lines were paralleled also. This livery is still used by the OA. 32-bit textures no mip mapps for extra clarity and no blurring, a light touch of reflective surface. ###This is the same file I've uploaded earlier this year but there was a problem as I was told by the library managers, even though I haven't noticed anything and had to be deleted. So here it is again! I am truly very sorry for the inconvenience.###
