| F-5A Freedom Fighter 'Aegean Blue' Hellenic Air Force |

This is a superb aircraft I used to fly as a Hellenic Air Force pilot. This is an "Aegean Blue" repaint flown in service of 343rd Squadron of Hellenic Air Force during the '90ties. The F-5 Freedom Fighter was a very succesfull aircraft during its 30 year carrer in HAF as a fighter, bomber, multy role aircraft until the early months 2001 when finaly released by active duty. This "F-5A_HAF_v1.zip" package is full compatible with FS2K2 and it contains sound, NEW (made by the author) panel, the official checklist (by Northrop) and a VERY completed flight manual which can be read with Adobe Acrobat.
This repaint was based on the original model made by Denis da Silva [email protected] & Daniel da Silva [email protected]. Using my 1800 hrs flight experience as a former F-5 pilot, I create (starting by "zero"...) a flight model ("air" file and aircraft.cfg file) and I test it to the limits to be sure that it flies like the real one and I can guarantee that! This "F-5A_HAF_v1.zip" package is for EXPERIENCED FlightSimers and virtual pilots who have a "good feeling" on the stick and do not fight with the contol stick while flying...Other words it is for people who want to know how the F-5A is realy flying!!
The package contains new visual effects, night lighting and the best looking mechanical parts movement, realistic gears extracting / retracting etc.

Squamish is a town with a population of just under 20,000, located at the northern end of Howe Sound where the Squamish River reaches the sea. Howe Sound is 25 miles deep and around 10 miles northwest of downtown Vancouver. It was for years based on the surrounding timber and a pulp mill, but with the closure of the saw and pulp mills now is more tourist oriented and the escape for Vancouver residents looking for (relative) peace and quiet. The runway is 2,400 feet of asphalt aligned 14-32. The buildings are built on differing levels of terrain, and the taxiways are sloped access ramps between the levels. This, of course, cannot be replicated in FS9, but it explains what at first sight appears to be a strange layout. The buildings are fairly well replicated. This is not an airport, it is an airfield meant for summer use as there is no lighting of any sort for runway or taxiways. The AI includes both GA and the helicopter flights by the two companies with bases at Squamish, Black Tusk and Blackcomb, the latter having several bases in this area with a HQ in Whistler. If you have the Vancouver scenery by FSAddon then you will need to move some of their bgl's aside; there are screenshots so that you can see which ones I have relocated. Kugaaruk is on the coast of northern mainland Canada on the Boothia Peninsula, 60 miles into a deep north-south fjord-like inlet called Pelly Bay. The name was changed from Pelly Bay in 1999, and the population is around 800. Gjoa Haven is 150 miles to the west, and Hall Beach just over 200 miles to the east. Six miles south of the village, and connected by a gravel road, there is a NWS station and what remains of a DEW Auxiliary Site; the DEW site was closed in 1992, a year after the NWS station became operational. There is also a 3,350 feet long gravel runway beside Barrow Lake 2 miles east of the site, Pelly Bay CWPB. Kugaaruk airfield is adjacent to the village and the 5,000 feet of 100 feet wide gravel runway is aligned 049T/229T where T stands for "true" as opposed to magnetic. There are flights by First Air and Canadian North and the AI includes a daily flight of each from Yellowknife via Gjoa Haven (as per real life) plus a cargo visit by Buffalo. Although the runway is long enough to accomodate a 737 it is not licensed for regular scheduled jet flights; the reason for this is that the approach lighting is "inadequate". Included here is a new .bgl for Gjoa Haven which will remove the small hold short line from the gravel; my mistake.

Fokker F27 Friendship (Mk500) for AI
The Dutch government provided funding to assist with constructing the Fokker F27, which first first flew in 1955, and Fairchild were licenced to build the Friendship in the United States in 1958. The Mk500 could carry 52 passengers.
This model is designed specifically to enhance the AI aircraft population . It is basically too heavy (at 45000lbs all up) to use with the marvellous GA-Traffic programme by Marcus Brunner, but I am using it happily with my general AI traffic on normal routes. I had found that the numerous F27s that have been built were very frame-rate heavy, and as this aircraft has sentimental meaning to me from childhood days, I decided to make a frame-rate friendly version.
It is also quite fun to fly as a normal aircraft so I have left a link to a testing panel (Baron 58), but I would suggest you substitute a more suitable replacement.
This model incorporates animated rudder, elevator, flaps and ailerons and landing gear.The main model contains only 1671 polygons with a single texture file to ensure the absolute minimum impact on your framerates. It also has night lighting.
There are three other models incorporated to give a total of 4 LOD models.
There are three textures included (Air New Zealand, Fed Ex and Uniair), plus a paintkit, in this zip file.

Made in December 2018 as an update of the original post of 2014, to correct the apron markings, revise the AI, increase the number of GA parking spots, and most importantly to correct the runway lighting by adding the missing approach lights. This scenery is complete and can be installed as-is without first installing the 2014 version. Smithers is in northwest BC, 60 miles east and a bit north of Terrace, and directly east of the southern border of Alaska. The town has a population of 5,500 and is set in a north-south valley between mountains, the most impressive of which is Hudson Bay Mountain to the west. The airport is to the north of the town and has a single runway of 7,544 feet, aligned 33-15. The main user is Central Mountain Air, who are headquartered in Smithers and have a large maintenance hangar there next to the terminal building. The airport has scheduled flights by Central Mountain Air, Jazz, and Hawk Air, which are in the AI. The AI provided here is a new CYYD traffic bgl; in total the AI also includes a Dawson Creek traffic bgl (recently revised and posted) plus a Terrace traffic bgl (which will shortly be revised and posted). An Electra of Conair (who are the largest operator of fire fighting planes in BC, and have re-fill tanks in Smithers) is included and also a HS 748 of Air North.

Thanks to Andrew Spring of www.p166.com!! The Piaggio P-180 Avanti is a Luxury Jetprop. Its design is the result of a "thinking outside the box" project philosophy. It means that building techniques are standard while aerodynamics are unique for it's kind. It features a three lifting surface design, laminar flow wing and twin pusher turboprop configuration. Passenger comfort features the possiiblity of standing in feet inside the plane, low noise due to pusher propellers and "Pininfarina" designed arrangement. Performances are unique too, cruising at 395 KTAS (260 KIAS) at 28000 ft, a jet-like speed, being the P-180 a twin turboprop. The result is a 40% reduced operational cost respect to a jet of similar size, and 30% less respect to a similar size turboprop, all at same price of a small Jet. This model is 804 Kbs with c.a. 19000 polygons in c.a.170 assemblies. The Fiat G91Y was a reconnaissance and ground-attack aircraft produced by Italian company FIAT as an evolution of Fiat G91. The first flight took place in 1966. It was a complete redesign, but the major difference was that G91Y installed 2 engines, in order to increase the power and the capability to survive to damages during war operations. The single Bristol Orpheus turbojet engine of G91 was then replaced by two afterburning General Electric J85 turbojets which increased thrust by 60% over the single-engined variant.
Structural modifications to reduce airframe weight increased performance further and an additional fuel tank occupying the space of the G.91T's rear seat provided extra range. Combat manoeuvrability was improved with the addition of automatic leading edge slats.
Flight testing of three pre-production aircraft was successful, with one aircraft reaching a maximum speed of Mach 0.98.
Airframe buffeting was noted and was rectified in production aircraft by raising the position of the tailplane slightly.
An initial order of 55 aircraft for the Italian Air Force was completed by Fiat in March 1971.
The order was increased to 75 aircraft with 67 eventually being delivered.
The first pre-series 'Yankee' (the nickname of the new aircraft) flew in July 1968.
AMI (Italian Air Force) placed orders for two batches, 35 fighters followed by another 20, later cut to ten.
The last one was delivered around mid 1976, so the total was two prototypes, 20 pre-series and 45 series aircraft.
No export success followed.
These aircraft served with 101° Gruppo/8° Stormo (Cervia-S.Giorgio) from 1970, and later, from 1974, they served with
the 13° Gruppo/32° Stormo (Brindisi) until the early '90s, as the only ones equipped with the 'Yankee', using them as attack/recce machines, both over ground and sea, until the AMX replaced them.

This is partly part of the Small Ontario Fields series. The airport ICAO was changed from CNZ3 to CYCK in November 2012; I have left it as it was. The runway too remains as it was a few years ago. Chatham is located 50 miles east of Detroit and 150 miles southwest of Toronto, between Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie, and the airfield is southeast of the town. There is a single asphalt runway 5,000 feet long and 75 feet wide, aligned 05/23 in FS9 but in fact in real life now 06/24 due to the wandering magnetic north. The apron is on the northern side of the runway at the eastern end, with added taxiways to cater for newer hangars wearing identical colour schemes. There is fuel, runway lighting, some taxiway lights, visitor parking on the grass, and plane maintenance in the large hangar beside the small terminal building on the north side of the apron. There is a train station in the middle of the town, and no scheduled flights to the airport that is 8 miles away; these two facts may be connected. Ditches along the road and around much of the airfield provide separation, which is why the fences are not continuous. If you are on the runway and find your path to the apron blocked by another plane that is stationary at the hold short, continue past the first turnoff to the threshold markers and turn off the runway and wait. The AI plane will then taxi out and you will have a clear path.

| Mount Pleasant Landing Strip Airport (67NJ), NJ |

File Description:
Located 01 miles S of Hainesburg, New Jersey on 192 acres of land, Mount Pleasant Landing Strip Airport is a private turf field. The strip itself is 2100 feet in length over fairly level ground. There is no hard-surfaced grass runway in place, so setting your mesh to the highest resolution is recommended as you will be landing on bare terrain. Next to Runway 06 is a path through the trees you can taxi along to get to a hangar - although it is not available for transient aircraft and is closed. Collision with the trees along the path near the hangar and the static aircraft parked near it is disabled to make it easier to move through this relatively tight area. Immediately beyond the hangar is a clearing with ample room to turn around to taxi back out. You can also start parked in front of the hangar. The windsock is located a few feet west of the hangar and is not lit. The runway also has no edge lighting so daytime VFR operations only are recommended for this airfield.
Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person.
This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 007. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

St Thomas is a town in Ontario around 12 miles south of London and less than 10 miles from the north shore of Lake Erie, with a population of just under 40,000. The airport (actually more of an airfield, as there are no scheduled flights) has three runways typical of an ex-military field, with one remaining hangar from RCAF flight training times in the 1940's, and the east-west runway now extended to just over 5,000 feet. The main presence at CYQS is a company in the crop seeding and spraying business over a wide area of Ontario; as a result there are several AT-802 planes based there which are included here as AI planes and also as parked scenery objects. To the west of the original apron area there are added taxiways to cater for a herd of new individual hangars wearing orange and white uniforms. There is fuel, runway lighting on 09-27, taxiway lights, visitor parking on the edge of the apron, and maintenance companies in the large hangars, plus a flight training group. A small terminal building sits quietly between hangars, waiting. Ditches along the road and around much of the airfield provide separation, which is why the fences are not continuous. I presume that the warning balls on the electricity cables were found to be necessary to persuade pilots not to land there; probably ski planes in winter, they tend to land anywhere so long as it has snow on it.
