Floatplanes Starter Kit

File Description:
This Starter Kit provides AI traffic of three floatplanes in the San Francisco Bay (Pier 39) and instructions for setting up other floatplanes and additional AFCAD2 water strips anywhere in the FS world. Simple installation! The AI floatplanes - Piper J-3C-65 Cub, Waco Classic Biplane, and Aviat A-1B Husky - have their contact points adjusted so that their floats are actually in the water. Realistic wake and spray effects. Also includes three additional floatplane templates for the default C208 Amphibian and a DHC-2 Beaver and Noorduyn Norseman (separate downloads).

Columbia River AI Floatplanes and Vessels

File Description:
An optional add-on for my cr_gorge.zip, these files add custom AI floatplane and ship traffic on the Columbia River between Washougal and The Dalles, as well as GA flightplans for some of the smaller airfields in the coverage area. Included are the HU-16 Albatross (Greg Pepper/Warren Landis), two variants of the Monocoupe 135 (Tom Miller), a S300C helicopter on floats (Jordan Moore), as well as Hovercraft and Jetfoil vessels by Mitsuya "Hama" Hamaguchi using repaints by M. Allen Richards and Dobro. All models have custom flight models and dynamic water effects. The included AI models can be utilized in other locations for which custom AFCAD files are available. For more details on AI floatplanes and ships see my ai_ships, ai_shipx, and ai_floats.zip packages.

LOD10 (38-m) Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska

File Description:
This LOD10 (38-m) add-on mesh of Glacier Bay National Park and the adjacent Lynn Canal area between Juneau and Skagway (N58-60 W134-138) is an optional (!) upgrade of gl_bay_1.zip (by Holger Sandmann and Jim Keir). It adds more detail to the mountainous areas and allows to locally override other installed Alaska add-on meshes without having to deactivate them. The USGS NED seamless digital elevation data used for this mesh have a 2-arcsec (~60-m) resolution. Thus, the compilation as LOD10 (38-m) will reveal all terrain details contained in the source data. Please read the gl_bay_1.zip read-me file for further information about the special features of the Glacier Bay Project.

File Description:
Second in a series of files for setting up helicopters and their repaints as AI aircraft. Set-up templates for five freeware GMax helicopters by European modelers: AS341 Gazelle, AS365 Dauphin, Eurocopter EC130, Bell 47 G2, and Westland Merlin. Includes sample AFCAD "heliports" and flight plans for London, Sydney, Paris, Helsinki, and Kuiu Island. Flight behavior is approximated (!) with custom flight models. Requires additional downloads (see documentation).

Landscape Enhancements for Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska

File Description:
This is a re-issue of my previously published landscape enhancement packages for parts of Southeast Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta, and Washington State. These files have been edited and adjusted to be fully compatible with FlightOne's "Ultimate Terrain: Canada/Alaska" product. Also, I have adjusted some of Ultimate Terrain's lake and river elevations to better fit new third-party add-on mesh files, such as the "Cordillera" mesh by FS Genesis and my freeware mesh files made for the individual coverage areas. Please note: A registered copy of "Ultimate Terrain: Canada/Alaska is required!!!

Namibia, Southwestern Africa Mesh Part 1 Of 5

File Description:
Add-on mesh for the entire country of Namibia (S17-29 E11-21), including the Caprivi Strip east to the Victoria Falls (Zambia/Zimbabwe). The source data are 3-arcsec (~90-m) Shuttle Radar (SRTM) files, compiled at LOD9 (76-m) resolution. Processing with John Childs' Blackart (v3.74) and Peter Guth's MicroDEM (v7.02). Includes a LOD7 buffer mesh to prevent blue slivers in the mid to far distance. Part 1 of 5.

File Description:
Replacement landclass file for all of Namibia and parts of western Botswana (S15-30 E11-25). Based on the new Global Land Cover 2000 Project data, this landclass file is still quite basic but better (I believe) than the FS original. In addition, I used Ground2K4 to more accurately represent natural and man-made features in five areas throughout the country, including Windhoek, Swakopmund/Walvis Bay, and the Fish River Canyon. Meant to be used with my Namibia LOD9 add-on mesh series. Landclass source files are included.

Airports of Nepal 2.1

File Description:
This is an update to make Einar Aarvik's Nepal scenery 2.0 compatible with the new LOD 10 mesh uploaded by Holger Sandmann. Includes new Taplejung airport. By Einar Aarvik. Ship and Plane AI Traffic, Montréal Harbor

File Description:
These files add Mike Hill's beautiful HMS Bark Endeavour sailing ship underway in front of Montréal's old port. There are also seaplanes taking off and landing. The ai traffic files were very well done by Holger Sandmann. The pictures indicate add on scenery as well. Details in the download. Thanks a lot guys.
