File Description:
This is a repaint of the Beechcraft D18S originally produced by Milton Shupe and Scott Thomas, adapted for FSX by David Caroll (B18DC05.ZIP). This former RCAF Expeditor Mk.3N (C/N CA83, RCAF S/N 2285) was acquired by the French Air Force in 1959. It is shown here in the markings of GTLA (Groupe de Transport et de Liaison Aerienne) 2/60 during the mid-sixties. Aircraft belonging to this unit were kept in pristine condition, hence the unusual, very glossy, nearly chrome-finished aspect of the natural metal surfaces.

File Description:
c/n 20456 was built as a C47A-90-DL with USAAF serial number 43-15990. It was delivered to Divisao dos Transportes Aereos de Angola (DTA) in 1946, registered as CR-LCA and named 'Henrique Carvalho'. When DTA became Transportes Aereos de Angola (TAAG Angola Airlines) in 1973 it was re-registered D2-LCA. It eventually served for 29 years until it was withdrawn from use in Luanda in 1975. Textures only. Prior installation of Manfred Jahn's outstanding FS2004 Douglas C-47 Base Pack is required. Repaint by Andre Reimers.

The flight is a routine return flight from Charles-de-Gaulle to John F. Kennedy iaw from John F. Kennedy to Charles-de-Gaulle that was on the daily flight schedule in the peak of the Concorde�s life before all the problems started. Interesting feature is the take-off at sunset and landing a few hours later after sunrise.

The aircraft model includes most of the standard features including animated control surfaces, wingviews, flaps, full lighting configuration, highly detailed, reflective textures, dynamic shine, opening doors, etc. The airline is based at Paris - Charles de Gaulle, terminal 1. Star "europe"'s fleet is composed of 6 A320's and 2 A330's. A320's make flights to mediterranean destinations as Palermo, Faro, Corfou, Palma de Majorca, Louxor, Tunis, Antalya, Ibiza, Malaga, etc...

Going into production in 1959, this aircraft, in late form, is still in service with several air forces to this day. An original 8-LOD model pays homage to this wonderful aircraft in the flightsim world. This package represents the original Mirage IIIBE production model in the service of the Armee de l'Air; with 6 models and 12 repaints. Original aircraft model, flight dynamics, some effects, and textures by Michael Pearson; tremendous amounts of help from Michael MacIntyre and Frank Safranek.
