Bora Bora Airport, French Polynesia, NTTB Download

File Description:
The Bora Bora airport is located on one of the Motus, which surround the Island of Bora Bora. The Motus are raised coral reefs which act as break waters, and create the beautiful turquoise lagoons which surround the French Polynesian Islands. This scenery is a complete remake of the original, and is now much more accurate as to what the airport looks like. It contains the main terminal, a fire station attached to the tower with fuel tanks, open air hangar structures, two helipads, and wood stairs taking you down to the boat docks where you are transported to the main island. This is one of the most unique French Polynesian Islands with it's beautiful and interesting mountain structure. Using the terrain mesh by Rolf Keibel and John Applegate will tremendously enhance this part of the world in FS. It is available at Flightsim under the name fpsimesh.zip. Afcad by Ray Smith is also included.

Returned to RAF Control at the end of 1945, it was used by Technical Training Command before being placed on Care and Maintenance. In 1946, it was transferred to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and used by BOAC aircraft for training. Also used by the Ministry of Aircraft Production for Supermarine Spitfire assembly and flight testing, the airfield closed in 1950 and the site became home of the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment (later the Atomic Weapons Establishment) from 1950.

RAF Hilbaldstow - Lincolnshire, England Download

File Description:
RAF Hibaldstow is a former Royal Air Force satellite airfield located south of Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire and 8.3 miles (13.4 km) south east of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. The airfield was built with greater things in mind, but it only became a satellite airfield for RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey in 1941. When the runways were constructed, some of the hardcore was made from material taken from demolished bungalows on the site.

The airfield was commissioned on 12 May 1941 when No. 255 Squadron RAF took up residence with their Boulton Paul Defiant night fighters. These planes had been drawn from RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey and made one 'kill': an He 111 which was shot down near Louth on 5 June 1941.

On 6 August 1947 the station finally closed and during 1960-61 it was sold off for use as agricultural land. It was also used for Sunday markets, as a skid-pan by Lincolnshire Police and by a local parachute club. The control tower was converted to a two-storey house in 1976.

RAF Melbourne - Yorkshire, England. Download

File Description:
RAF Melbourne was a Royal Air Force station typical of the expansion period of the Second World War. Located 5 miles to the South-west of Pocklington, Yorkshire, England. The nearest village is Seaton Ross.

East Common just outside the village of Seaton Ross was requisitioned for use as a grass airfield in November 1940. In late 1940 the airfield was used by Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys of 10 Squadron as a relief landing ground for RAF Leeming. The airfield soon closed for re-development as a standard Bomber Command airfield with three concrete runways and three hangars.

In May 1945 the airfield was transferred to RAF Transport Command and 575 Squadron moved in with the Douglas Dakota. The squadron only stayed for a few months operating transport flight to and from continental Europe. With the departure of the Dakota a number of specialised Flights used the airfield for six months but by the middle of 1946 the airfield was no longer used for flying.

File Description:
RAF Hutton Cranswick opened in January 1942 as a fighter airfield within No. 12 Group RAF. Unusually for the time its three runways were concrete "from new", many airfields (particularly fighter airfields) were initially built with grass runways which were later upgraded to concrete. Many squadrons rotated through the airfield including 610, 19, 308 (City of Kraków), 316 (City of Warsaw), 195, 306 (City of Torun), 302 (City of Poznan), 315 (City of Deblin), 234, 168 and No. 170 Squadron RAF. From December 1943, the Anti-Aircraft Co-operation 291 Squadron was formed at the airfield for target towing and similar uses. Whilst in use by 291 other fighter squadrons continued to rotate through including 401, 403, 412, 441, 442, 443 (all flying Supermarine Spitfires) and 439 using Hawker Typhoons. The final unit to operate from Hutton Cranswick was No. 124 Squadron RAF using Spitfire IXs. The station closed in 1946 and has reverted back to farm land, an industrial site now stands were the tech site was situated and the tower became a house. Source:Wikipedia

Operation Sky Light Download

File Description:
In the early cold dawn of February 7, 2008 the sky of Siberia was lighted by a yellowish light accompanied by a sound similiar to Rock & Roll Drums....in this barren land very few saw or heard it. Radar Station "Kipowlsky-33" in lower Siberia recorded a falling object for 20 minutes then lost it. Enrico Flemmi of the Italian Space Watch Observatory has told the Roman Daily that all electronic devices placed by the observatory in Siberia have shut down, 65 of them!!....Stritch Gunswarsek, of the EU Scientific Laboratory for the studies of the Atmosphere has declared that a high level of Ozone has been detected from ground 0 to 24,000 feet over all Siberia........... In response, Operation " Sky-Light" has been authorized with priority " Secret + 999" meaning that all Special planes equipped with " Alpha 323 Sensors" must go to Siberia and follow procedure "Klinky-8989"--- Russia has agreed that UN NATIONS AIRCRAFT WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!!. The penetrator must be found!!Is this time True???----If you go, do take a scarf.

Woodbine Municipal Airport (1N4), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 02 miles SE of Woodbine, New Jersey on 700 acres of land, Woodbine Municipal Airport serves small to large GA craft as well as gliders and ultralights. Tie downs are the only option for transient aircraft. The main parking area of the airport is located in the center tarmac area near the fuel station. The parking spots can accomodate aircraft with wingspans up to 50 feet. Anything larger should park off the side of the taxiway. Fuel is available by stopping near the fuel tank. It should be noted that this airport's real ICAO is KOBI. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview, the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New Jersey/Delaware 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

Herb's Field C417 near Ottawa in Ontario, Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Herb's is on the 417 between Ottawa and Montreal at the junction with highway 34, which is south of Hawkesbury. Herb's is a truckstop and a repair garage and a restaurant and a gas station, and is still (but only just!) an airfield. Which is to say there is still a runway, some 1,200 feet long and 30 feet wide. Do not go in your Cessna 172 as only the northern half is usable, and that after inspection from the air for any obstacles, parked cars, dogs, and similar obstacles. The southern half is the way in for trucks and cars, so make sure you can stop well before the ex-hangar which is now for truck repairs only. The planes all belonged to Herb's father, and even a casual inspection will reveal that they haven't moved for some time. If there is anything using the service road immediately to the north of the runway go around again, you won't be able to clear a vehicle and then land on the threshold.

Steeple Morden Download

File Description:
This FSX scenery package is for Former RAF Steeple Morden, USAAF Station No. 122. It includes the main airfield and 14 of the outlying sites that housed all of the inhabitants. Built in 1940 , originally a grass satellite field of Bassingbourn, Steeple Morden first accommodated the RAF No. 11 and No. 17 OTU (Operational Training Unit), flying Vickers Wellingtons and Bristol Blenheims respectively. The RAF used the airfield from 1940 to July 9th of 1943.
In July of 1943, the RAF turned the base over to the 355th Fighter Group of the 8th USAAF and concrete runways and hard stands were added. The 355th were famous for destroying more enemy aircraft on the ground than any other unit in the USAAF. They were dubbed, "The Steeple Morden Strafers" and were comprised of the 354th (WR), 357th (OS) and 358th (YF) Fighter Squadrons. Study of the site plans and other information revealed that RAF Steeple Morden was very much interwoven with the village of Litlington, Cambridgeshire . The base may have well be called RAF Litlington instead of Steeple Morden.
