File Description:
Chiang Mai was founded in the late 13th century. It was once the capital of Lanna, an independent Thai Kingdom and has preserved its unique cultural heritage to a marked degree. It is located 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok, among the highest mountains in the country. The city is on the Ping river, a major tributary of the Chao Phraya river. Culture of Chiang Mai is architecture reflects Lanna Thai,Burmese,Sri Lankan and Mon influences. There are some 300 temples in the city and on its outskirts. The Golden Age of Lanna-Chiang Mai lies some 500 years back in the time of king Tilokarat, but the city has recently been undergoing a process of regeneration, and while full of the bustle of modern life,it hasn't lost touch with its glorious past.
This scenery just only preview the real thing. If you visit Thailand, this city is the "must" see in your trip. The best time to go to Chiangmai is winter time since the weather is cool and bright sunny.

| Tel Aviv Lod Airport Scenery 1961 |
|
File Description:
Lod Airport, now called Ben Gurion International Airport started out in 1936 as Lydda Airport, an airstrip of four concrete runways on the outskirts of the Arab town of Lydda. By the mid-1960s, 14 international airlines were landing at Lod Airport.
I have backdated Lod airport back to 1961, when it was much smaller than today. Lod was and is Tel Aviv's major airport, used for all airline flights in 1961, and most international flights today. I have used GMAX to create the terminal and many of the hangars and other buildings at the airport, and have also used many library objects to increase the detail around the airport. Landclass files are included to reduce the city area back to their sizes in the 1960's. I have also backdated 4 other airports: Eilath (LLET), Sde Dov (LLSD), Mahanaim (LLIB), and Beer Sheeba (Teyman LLBS). These use library objects to increase the airport detail as well. These cities constituted the entire route network of Arkia, the local airline of Israel, in 1961.

| Design Tutorial for Sloping Runway Scenery |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The one aspect that has always bothered me is all the ingredients for sloping runways already exist in FSX. I can land a Cessna on the arching Golden Gate Bridge deck, hear tire squeal and see touchdown smoke as I head up hill, then throttle up and take off rolling down hill. So why are there no sloping runways?
Do you know how to apply texture to a surface? Can you make a curved sloping flatten polygon and locate it accurately within the FSX world? If your answers are yes, all you need to know is how to turn that polygon into a hardened surface. It is that simple. - Wally-Bob
