CYYN Swift Current Municipal Airport Download

File Description:
Swift Current Municipal airport is situated approximately 8 km east of the City of Swift Current. It is one of those tiny airports where the default flightsim scenery has no resemblance to the real world airport. CYYN was constructed using GMAX and represents the airport as it was in the Summer of 2007. It includes nearly all the buildings at the airport, runway signs, the addition of fencing, and a rotating beacon. CYYN also includes a landclass file to better represent the terrain around the airport, at least as far as the limits of the default landscape will allow. The airport has a long history, being built in 1937, as one of the hundred-mile airports on the Trans Canada airway. It was greatly expanded as an RCAF / RAF station during world war II. Many of the wartime structures still exist but many are in poor shape. Two of the original three runways remain in service. The airfield is often used by 15 Wing aircraft of CFB Moose Jaw to practice approaches.

Sigonella AB - Sicily, Italy Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Naval Air Station Sigonella, "The Hub of the Med", is a U.S. Navy installation at NATO Base Sigonella and an Italian Air Force base in Sicily, Italy. Although a tenant of the Italian Air Force, NAS Sigonella acts as landlord to more than 40 other U.S. commands and activities. It is located 15 km west and 11 km south of the city of Catania. Sigonella also serves as an Italian base for the 41º Stormo Antisom (41st Antisubmarine Warfare Wing). Among the aircraft that fly from this island base are U.S. Air Force C-130, C-17 and C-5 airlifters as well as KC refueling aircraft and a rotating squadron of forward-deployed U.S. Navy P-3 Orions. The Italian Air Force also fields the venerable Breguet Atlantic patrol aircraft. It is one of the most frequently used stops for U.S. airlift aircraft bound from the continental United States to Southwest Asia and the Indian Ocean. Scenery contains all new 3D models and AI aircraft. Package is stand-alone but additional downloads may be helpful (see docs for details).

Stanford Torus Space Colony v1.0 Download

File Description:
What will future space colonization realistically look like? What is it like to approach a rotating station almost 2km in diameter? The Stanford Torus is based on a design created during a 10 week program in 1975 held at NASA’s Ames Research Center and Stanford University. The project participants considered how to create a practicable permanent colony in space using existing technology at minimum cost. The habitat is over 1800m in diameter and spins at 1 rpm to provide 1g of pseudo-gravity. Package includes a scenario to fly from the ISS up to a GEO rendez-vous with Stanford, as well as documentation on the station itself. I am looking for a texture artist to do the station justice, since my textures are pretty sad. Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested. INSTALLATION: You need Vinka's spacecraft.dll to use this add-on. A link is provided in the documentation. 1. Unzip files into your Orbiter directory, preserving the directory structure in the zipfile. 2. Load up the Stanford scenario in the Stanford directory in the Orbiter start window. 3. Enjoy the trip!

CYEN Estevan Saskatchewan Municipal Airport Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
CYEN Estevan Municipal airport is situated approximately three miles (6 Km) north of the City of Estevan. CYEN Estevan Muni was constructed using GMAX and represents the airport as it was in the Summer of 2006. It includes all the buildings at the airport, runway signs, addition of some fencing, anda new rotating beacon that is closer to the actual device. CYEN also includes a landclass file to better represent the terrain around the airport, at least as far as the limits of the default landscape will allow.

The airport is home to Sunrise Aviation (which operates the field for the city) and some 26 light aircraft. CYEN handles a wide variety of Canadian and U.S. corporate and charter aircraft given the large oil and coal mining industry in the area. With the U.S. border so close by, CYEN is also the first stop for many U.S. registered aircraft that land to clear customs and refuel.

(This is a re-upload of the scenery to replace the original that was lost in the AVSIM hack. No changes have been made)

Orbiter *.msh File Export / Import Tool for Gmax and 3DSMax v1.2 Download

File Description:
Version 1.2 of the .msh file export/import tool for gmax and 3DSMax. New in this version:

  • reorganised the 3 scripts into one script defining 2 utilities with their own rollouts, feature for saving to a file or dumping to Listener is now selectable through radio buttons, the script should now be placed in the scriptsstartup directory of gmax/3DSMax and can then be used via the MAXScript rollout in the Utilities tab
  • grouped objects are now exported correctly, group objects are skipped, also nested groups should work
  • all objects with transparent materials assigned (opacity < 100) are now placed at the end of the mesh file
  • new feature for rotating the mesh by 90 degrees around x on import/export this makes it easier to edit models in gmax, especially ground scenes
  • fixed a problem on importing meshes that don't specify normal vectors
  • made import more stable towards meshes that don't 100% conform to the .msh format
  • external tool "GMaxMshGrabber" for grabbing the .msh file output from the MAXScript Listener window to a file is now part of the package

63 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic for South America and Europe V1 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Plenty of good designers have created beautiful navy ships and aircraft carriers for FSX, but only few have created container ships, tankers, off-shore supply ships, tugs, or bulk carriers and put them to sail around the globe in FSX. With this package I intend to fill a part of this gap and to bring more life to the mostly empty oceans in FSX by providing AI ships and AI traffic files with a fleet of modern merchant ships travelling through some of the most heavily trafficked sea routes in the world. The pack contains 63 AI ships based on more than 35 different GMAX models. Around one third are equipped with landable helicopter decks. Most ships have simple animations like rotating radars and most have custom light, smoke and wake effects. The pack also contains traffic files for the east coast of South America and the coasts of North West Europe: In South America ships visit Belem, Sao Louis, Natal, Recife, Salvador, Macae, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Florianopolis, Pelotas, Porto Alegre, Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Puerto Madryn. In Europe ships visit Gibraltar, Algeciras, Lissabon, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Saint Nazaire, Brest, Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Thamesport, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Esbjerg, Oslo, Aarhus, Copenhagen and St.Petersburg. For map of coverage, routes and ship details see the PDF manual.

Mount Diablo Summit Museum Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The museum and visitor center house a diorama of the parks ecosystems, complete with the sounds found in nature, and a topographic model of the mountain. On one wall, an instructional video and lighted display case describes the geologic forces that created the mountain. On anther wall, cultural history is chronicled with splendid photographs. The lower level of the summit building contains panels describing the Native American history of the region and an audio-visual room. Rotating displays of art and photography complement the permanent exhibits. In addition to the exhibits, there is a small gift center within the building. Outside the summit building, telescopes are mounted on the observation deck. A close-up view of the Delta and the surrounding geology is just a quarter. On a clear day, the Sierra Nevada can be seen with the naked eye. If you look carefully, ancient marine fossils embedded in the sandstone walls can be seen along the stairway walls leading to the observation deck. The rotunda on top of the summit building is a reminder of Mount Diablo's importance as a survey point. Sitting atop the rotunda is the old navigation beacon, lighted once a year on December 7 in memory of Pearl Harbor. http://www.mdia.org/site/park-information/park-info/summit-museum/2-information/21-summit-building. Made with SketchUp, designed for ORBX FTXNCA Northern California using Prepar3d V3.2. The files are simple and will probably work with other versions of the simulator.
