YNRB Narembeen, Western Australia airstrip and townsite Download

File Description:
YNRB Narembeen - The idea of creating a town at the Narembeen siding was the brainchild of a prominent Perth lawyer, Henry Hale, and a Perth publican, Paddy Connolly. When the men realised the problems that were being created by the teetotal community at Emu Hill they purchased 30 acres (about 12 ha) of land at Narembeen, used their influence with the local politicians, got permission to build a pub and then sold off the rest of the land to prospective residents of their 'private town'. The pub, which still stands today, was all that was needed to overwhelm the struggling nearby settlements and become the centre for the whole area. By 1925 Narembeen had a population of 2100. Flight Simulator Scenery Tutorial - How to decompile, edit, and recompile default scenery object BGL files Download

File Description:
This is a simple tutorial in a dual format, one HTML for web-based reading and the other for reading within Microsoft Word. The tutorial contains a thorough, step-by-step process on editing default scenery object BGL files within Flight Simulator. It covers everything from the task of decompiling the stock BGL file using BGLXML or NewBGLAnalyze, editing it using SceneGenX scenery Generator and Notepad, and recompiling the source code XML into a BGL file again by using the BGLCOMP SDK. This tutorial was the result of a request by a fellow scenery creator, in combination to my quest for further increasing the realism of one of Flight Simulator's stock airports (Sanderson Field, Shelton, WA). There's specific instructions, and a final word on the touchy topic of editing stock BGL files contained within the tutorial as well.

Multiple Moving Map Gauge Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This Multiple Moving Map ( MMMap) provides a excellent and generic orientation and navigation gauge for any aircraft in FSX. The gauge will be implemented as a separate window in the panel.cfg ( for installation see pdf doc in this ZIP file). The gauge allows the user to select different terrain presentations e.g. desert areas on the globe ( north of Africa for example ), or areas in the north of Europe/America . In addition, the user can select a camera lookalike view. This is a dedicated view which allows the user to have a top view from the aircraft to the real FSX terrain. Control buttons are available to insert into the map displays for airports, flight plans,VOR etc.. The gauge includes a commercial version ( MMMap_Com) and a military version (MMMap_mil). The difference is the gauge body only.

Piasecki PV-2 Download

File Description:
The PV-2 helicopter is powered with a four-cylinder, air-cooled Franklin engine, developing ninety horsepower. The engine is mounted with its crankshaft upright. Piasecki has flown his helicopter in several public demonstrations. Once he took off from the driveway of a private home in Falls Church, Virginia, and flew a short distance to a filling station, where he landed and spent an A ration stamp for three gallons of gasoline. The surprised attendant put in the gas, wiped off the helicopter's windshield, and Piasecki took off again, heading for the golf course. A few minutes later he landed right beside the first tee, took his golf clubs out of the small baggage compartment, and proceeded to tee off for a game of golf. The young designer had done what many had talked about; no one had ever done that before.

TNTAIR Piper PA-23 Aztec F (VH-COO) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This repaint is for our friends down under and anyone that like to fly down under aircraft. I was asked to build a repaint based on a real world Red and White Aztec that was operating in AU once upon a time. We only have one photo and I guessed the rest of the story. I started with the outstanding red livery that comes with the Alabeo Aztec F model and made a few additions and changes. This involved making a logo for TNTAIR, a white Piper logo in script for the cowling and a little white AZTEC near the tail along with changing the registration to VH-COO. Let's see how it flies with the community. You must have the payware Alabeo PA23-250 Aztec F model for FSX/FSX:SE/P3Dv2-v3 to use this repaint.

VTOL/Hover gauge for Harrier Download

File Description:
This freeware gauge adds new VTOL & Hover features to the FS9 payware Sigma/Iris Harrier. Besides true vertical takeoff&landing, it allows you to fly forward, backward, sideways and turn, while in a hover. This solution is based on overriding the normal FS flightdynamics while in a hover; in short, it's a VTOL&Hover FDE coded in a gauge. Special thanks to Doug Dawson, who created a gauge that provides for overriding FSX variables from an XML gauge. Requires FSUIPC4 (registered or unregistered, NOT included). The README includes extensive installation and flying instructions, including how to port your FS9 version of the Harrier to FSX. Besides the VTOL gauge, it also adds a fuel dump/load gauge, a gauge that lets you change the vertical ViewDirection in the 2D Cockpit, and replacements for two FSX-incompatible gauges in the original Harrier package.

Caproni-Vizzola C-22J Ventura Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Machine: A fully aerobatic, very-light Jet that compares to the Bede BD-5J, but heavier and sporting two instead of one TRS-18 turbojets. Up to Mach 0.47 and 650 NM of range, with a service ceiling of 25000ft. A low stall speed (for a jet) makes the aircraft good for short field operations. Certified for VFR operations only, yet includes a good avionics suite. This is a "Classic" aircraft featuring "Steam" gauges and radios. Yet, controls and systems are easy to operate. The History: The C-22J is the last aircraft to be adorned with the legendary Caproni name. Originally known as "Caproncino", then marketed as "Ventura". A very-light jet developed in the 1980s as a military trainer, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft. Powered by two TRS-18 turbojets fed from a dorsal NACA intake, the aircraft reached Mach 0.47 and was fully aerobatic. The airframe shows its origin in a glider design, the Caproni A-21 Calif. After the merger with SIAI Marchetti, the project was cancelled in favor of the SF-260. The Simulation - 3D Model: This aircraft ships with a 3-D cockpit, that incorporates realistic night lighting, in the form of a dim dome flood light, backlit gauges and luminous digital displays. The flight crew of 2 is affected by your input in the payloads menu of Flight Simulator, allowing to choose between male, female or empty seats. The Copilot Figure can be hidden with a quick click in the internal 3D view as well. The Simulation - Realism: This aircraft has been tuned with the invaluable help of Engineer Carlo Ferrarin, who created the real aircraft. Unique and one-off documentation has been kindly provided, and used extensively, for the creation of this product! Just like the real aircraft, the systems are simple and of easy operation. Engines can be started with the press of a button. Systems modelling allows the following of real-world checklists as closely as Flight Simulator allows. An in-sim checklist is included, as well as a full flight manual. The flight model is tuned with advanced aerospace techniques, resulting in a highly realistic aircraft, yet, it is very pleasant to fly, both during aerobatic displays or "A to B" cruising. Highlights: - High-Resolution 3D cockpit - Full Documentation - Aerobatic FS-2004 Version comes with limited support and is free due to platform limitations. See Readme. FS-X & P3Dv4 (64-bit) versions are commercial products.

New Vickers VC10 panel, Part 2 Download

File Description:
This is part 2 of a two part download.

This project is based on David Maltby's panel for the Vickers VC10, model available here: www.dmflightsim.co.uk/vickers_vc10.htm.

The project's aim is to enhance the cockpit experience by re-activating numerous gauges, switches and lights that previously had no function. It also introduces some new gauges and windows that are not in the original model. And, to bring the cockpit procedures as close as possible to the real checklists. To this end it contains voicechecklist files, a cockpit briefing and interactions with the cabin crew including a safety briefing.

The cockpit instrumentation has also been brought up to date with modern requirements and practices. And, as well as a number of new additional windows there is also a new night cockpit. The checklists are taken from the original BOAC flight manual and are extremely detailed as they are designed for a three man crew! So, as a single "sim" pilot you will be very busy! I have made well over 100+ additions and changes making this a comprehensive update. The original model was very similar to how one drives a car. That is get in, turn on the ignition and drive off!! You will find this update very different as it intentionally brings you much much closer to the reality of handling a high performance heavy jet especially one as complex as the elegant VC10!
