File Description:
cfs2/Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat No. 3 VF-27, USS Princeton, September, 1944. Painted over The B24 Guy's F6F-3 Overhauled Model. Pilot: Ens. Gordon A. Stanley. This Hellcat rests at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, along with the USS Princeton, sunk on October 24, 1944 by a well placed bomb by a lone "Judy." Ens. gordon scored a total of eight kills in this aircraft. Twelve years later (1956), Stanley died in a crash of a F9F-6. By revev. Enjoy!

Shirley--flying this aircraft--downed five fighters in a single dogfight. His Hellcat never had the chance to wear the 12.5 kill flags, as it, along with the USS Princeton was lost later the same day. By revev. Enjoy!
