Lockheed L-1049 Prototype

File Description: The original XC-69 Prototype "The Beast" was purchased from Howard Hughes for $100,000 in 1950. Lengthened by 18ft 7 Inches, it became the prototype L-1049. Dressed up in special duds, the first flight occurred on 13 October 1950, and the rest is history. With a slightly different paint scheme, this aircraft was used by Lockheed as a test bed for future models, including the PO-2W / WV2. Original Aircraft by Team 1049 (Manfred Jahn, Roland Berger, Volker Boehme, Luis Pallas, Bill Tyne, and Stefan Werner), requires CalClassic L1049G. Repaint by Dan McManus

Military Helicopter field Parow

File Description:
The airfield Parow is the one field of a row of military airfield sceneries, in particular of the helicopter places of the former NVA. In the scenery are included the airfield and the technical supplies. The airfield was put into operation in 1960. He accommodated the 18th Naval Helicopter Squadron with 3 wings . Helicopters of the type Mi-4, MI-8S, MI-8T, MI-8TB and MI-14 were in duty till 1990.
