The Aeropostale line was founded by Pierre Latécoère after the first world war in 1919, to allow the post to reach faster the French African colonies. The first official flight started the first september 1919 in Toulouse (France) and after 1850 km and 18h15 flying, landed in Casablanca (Morocco) via Perpignan (france), Barcelona (Spain), Alicante (Spain), Malaga (Spain), Tanger (Morocco) and Rabat (Morocco). Avionic is one french real & virtual aviation web site. A pioneer of early aviation, the H.P.42 was the first true intercontinental ailiner. It was crude by the standards of the day,but sturdy and reliable. Only 8 were built,but they all flew in service for over 10 years, with the lead ship logging over 1 million miles!.
