The need for a true night fighter aircraft was well demonstrated during the Battle of Britain in 1940. Aircraft used to counter German night attacks were not very effective. At the direction of the Air Corp's Carl A. Spaatz, John Northrop submitted a ground up night fighter design, which, designated as the XP-61, first flew on May 26, 1942. The Black Widow was the first aircraft designed from the ground up as a night fighter. Its innovative slotted flaps and spoiler ailerons allowed operation from short airstrips and improved handling; the radar carried in its nose made it the dominant force in the night skies of Europe and the South Pacific. From July 6, 1944, when it claimed its first victory, to war's end, the P-61 distinguished itself as one of America's most unique fighting machines. After the war, P-61s were used in reconnaissance, weather research, and flight testing. The first American flight ejections were made from a P-61.
Only four P-61 aircraft are known to exist today.

File Description:
This is Akutan, which comprises the water airport, the town, and the Trident crab and fish processing plant just to the west of the town. Akutan is in the Aleutians in an inlet on the island of the same name, around 35 miles ENE of Dutch Harbor, and is served by a Grumman Goose amphibian that flies from Dutch Harbor. The population is just over a thousand, though this can increase as more seasonal workers are employed at the plant. The church is not as big as it looks; the long part is a gymnasium. The Ai includes the Akutan end of a Grumman Goose flight from Dutch Harbour (the AI files are part of the Dutch Harbor scenery) which will take off from the Dutch Harbor runway and land on water at Akutan. It will then park at the bottom of the ramp up onto the apron, which is actually usable if you want to taxi up it. In reality it is a PenAir flight, here it is Reeve Aleutian for technical reasons. The Sea AI includes fishing boats from the Trident dock and a Coast Guard cutter from the town dock; the latter as explained in the updated version of Dutch Harbor, which you should already have installed.

FS2002/2004 "Slovak Airlines" scheduled flightplans for the winter 2004-2005 period, which have been compiled according to the company information for the weeks 14 Jan 2005 - 28 Jan 2005.
Currently, Slovak Airlines is operating charter flights (not included in this file), plus a single scheduled service between Bratislava and Moscow-Sheremetyevo with its Boeing 737-300 (to be replaced later on by a Fokker 70), four times a week. The second and only other link to Brussels is operated in cooperation with Austrian with their own F70...
Schedule files fully compatible with Traffic Tools by Lee Swordy (available on this site). Enjoy.

US Airways started a marketing campaign in 2004 to promoting booking tickets on line. This aircraft was taken out of service at the end of 2005. N350US had both a blue nose and grey nose during its brief debute. I thought this was a cool livery representing both old and new of the airline.
