Tips and Tricks Number 21 - April 2006 Edition. This issue includes a brief introduction to online flying with a partner, as well as several new ideas to enhance your flying experience. Of special interest is a segment which explains how to make a backup DVD FS2004 installation disk, plus several other useful ideas and links to helpful utilities. Included is the popular "From the E-Mail Bag" department which answers a question of general interest and a section describing an aircraft of Historical interest. There is even a Tip or two to help improve your relationship with the one who thinks you spend far too much time "flying". An updated index, by John Burford, for the entire series, in .pdf format is included. As usual, I have attempted to provide something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Please unzip to a temporary location, using the folders option. Compiled in .pdf format for your flying enjoyment.

| SAS McDonnell Douglas Super 80 'Mette Viking' |

File Description:
Highly detailed and hand painted repaint of CoolSky's Super 80 in SAS colours, with a Danish registration (OY-KHM), named 'Mette Viking'. I choose to paint this beautifully crafted model even though a SAS livery is supplied with the Super 80. My version looks more like it withstood the sand of time and therefor looks more 'worn' than the shiny livery of Coolsky. I created custom made bump maps for different parts of the fuselage to maximize a realistic look. The rivets that hold together the cockpit windows, the lines on the nose cone and the doors are not 2d flat textures but 3D bump maps that fully utilizes per pixel lightning. All this makes painting for FSX so much more fun than for FS9. These textures are intended for use on the Flight1/CoolSky Super 80 and can be either processed using Flight1's Repaint Manager for FSX or can be installed manually. Fly safe, land safe!

| KOMO TV Channel 4 Seattle "Air4" Bell JetRanger |

File Description:
KOMO TV 4, the ABC affiliate in Seattle, Washington and consistently known as the best television station in America for 21 years running - and best newscast in America for 20 years in a row, operated this Bell JetRanger known as "Air4." The helicopter was an early Bell 206BIII, and bore the same rainbow-like paint scheme for nearly two decades. This paint scheme was also used on several of their ENG satellite news trucks - each one with the name "Newstar4." Unfortunately, this helicopter was retired in December of 1997 and replaced with a brand-new Bell 407 bearing an all-new black and blue metallic paint scheme featuring a gold "4" and green pinstripes. Air4 is piloted by veteran KOMO pilot Roger Fox, and this version of Air4 had no chin camera apparatus (there was always a photographer and reporter aboard incase of breaking news)It is not known where this helicopter is, nor what her N-Number was at the time. Requires Owen Hewitt's Bell JetRanger.

File Description:
Library Object Viewer is a utility to display FS9 Scenery Objects outside of the Simulator. This makes it easy to check out object libraries and the objects they contain. It reads library files and displays the objects they contain. These are displayed in full 3D, can be rotated in three axes and scaled larger or smaller. The objects can be displayed in day and night textures (assuming there are night textures) and in solid or wireframe. It also takes thumbnails of the object as it is displayed which can be used in other programs. The program is currently beta and can display most objects accurately, but fails with some. It cannot read objects shipped with the FSX demo at this time. The program uses DirectX 9c to create the objects - this is used by FS9 and FSX. Please read the installation notes carefully to ensure a successful installation. Support is available from www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk

Cal Classic CV-240 (Button Nose) Texas International Airlines. DXT3 texture package.You will need the base package available at the Cal-Classic website. See the Install Text for information on the base package.The Button nose model is included in this package. These two paints reflect the paint schemes seen on the CV-600s for Texas International Airlines.While the CV-600 is in development,I decided to release these two paints for everyone to enjoy until our CV-600 is released.The CV-600 was a modified CV-240,with a new more aerodynamic nose cone installed,Cabin Pressurization to FL240,Rolls Royce Dart Turboprop engines,and some other minor structural strengthening modifications,along with better avionics.Now remember the CV-240 was put into service from 1949 onward,and in the mid 1960s when these were converted to CV-600s,the avionics available at that time were more advanced than when the 240s were 1st put into service. The Bermudas islands are located in the middle Atlantic. Their main island is in the 32 15 71 N and 64 52 50 W.Is a very broken into fragments island that it is part of s cluster of 150 islands distributed in an area of 53 square kms
This archipielago like superior vertex together with Puerto Rico island and the city of Lauderade-Hollywood in Florida U.S.A. tey form the celebrates TRIANGLE OF BERMUDAS that in the time 50 ships and 20 airplanes have disappeared. Most of these disappareances they can be explained, other nr.
Nevertheless to the one West of the island and a near a carrier to 2000-3000
feet high approximately I have discovery some ships floating in the space.
Not you if they are part of the disappareances....But they are there.

I am proud to present this repaint of the Erick Cantu/Vistaliners B727-200F model in the sharp livery of Rio Linhas Aereas, callsign RIO. Originally operating as JetSul, Rio is a cargo airline based in Curitiba Brazil. This airline is aggressively pursuing a goal to become the only Brazilian airline dedicated to provide ACMI services and at the same time providing charter passenger service. Currently, Rio transports mail for the Brazilian Postal Service throughout Brazil. Its fleet comprises a total of 7 B722Fs and a single B762. All repainted textures in this package are 32-bit with no mipmaps. This is a textures only package, you will need the freeware Erick Cantu/Vistaliners B727-200F model to enjoy it. See the readme.txt file for more information and for links to download the 727-200F model, sound and panel.
