| C-17 Globemaster III/ER |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The C-17 Globemaster III/ER is a heavy cargo aircraft used by several foreign militaries, but primarily the U.S. Air Force. She is designed to do many things that other cargo aircraft cannot, based on her unique design. This version incorporates the extended range fuel tanks. The real world aircraft can actually use reverse thrust in flight, up to 100% reverse power, during descents or on the ground. It is also the only heavy aircraft in the world with a wing efficiency factor over 1.0, which is theoretically impossible, but true. All of the dynamics in this model are correct down to the inch, so she does almost everything the real aircraft does. Some things are not possible in FSX, including reverse thrust while in flight, but full flaps/slats employed in a steep descent will adequately simulate this effect without damage to the model while in flight. The landing gear are authentic and capable of heavy loads. The weight and balance is authentic. The fuel tanks are authentic. The aircraft name, tail number, location, and callsign are authentic. The calculated range(s) listed are all authentic, understanding that most public data released is based on average range, at average altitude, and normal payload missions. The sound is authentic. The engine dynamics are authentic. The panel used is the best I could find, is fairly authentic, and requires some pre-flight study before flight. All-in-All the aircraft is very simple to fly, but requires some study to operate correctly, so I recommend all simmers watch as many "You Tube" videos, read as many authentic sites, and study as much as possible about this aircraft before operation. | JELAIR - Maersk Air, Boeing 737-2L9 (OY-MBZ) - version 3 |
|

File Description:
This aircraft (for FSX, with update-patch #2) is a simulated replica of Maersk Air's 'Pocket Rocket' OY-MBZ (a Boeing 737-2L9 a.k.a. 737-200/Advanced) anno 1989. It is designed for a screen-resolution of 1280x1024. Other resolutions have not been tested. It will NOT work correctly in FS2004 (FS9). It has been tested on Windows XP (32bit) and Windows 7 (64bit) only. It is designed to be as realistic as possible, and flight-experience from the real aircraft, as well as large amounts of documentation, have been used to get it as accurate as possible. It has a fairly advanced panel with many systems simulated, such as a passenger oxygen system, a cabin pressure system, anti-skid brakes, EPR control of each engine (with the possibility of asymmetric thrust), IVSI with TCAS, Sperry SP177 autopilot with working CWS and level-change button, active yaw-damper, Quality-of-flight index (so you can see how well you operate the aircraft), windshield wiper, custom flight-computer, automatic Vspeeds for takeoff and landing, takeoff trim calculator, master caution system, PAX simulator (if you make a mistake they may die), a JT8D-17 engine with slow spin-up time (do not idle it on approach). It features a relatively realistic random-failures/error simulation which will trigger, or de-trigger, any of a variety of possible failures/errors (from small gauge-errors to large engine-failures or cabin de-compression). The chance of a failure/error is very low (you may never even get one, but they can happen, so stay alert), maybe less than 1 percent chance per 24 hours of flight-time. It features engine-management simulation, so overheating an engine will cause it to fail (now you actually need to pay attention to the EGT during engine-startup, and have your finger ready at the fuel-cutoff switch just in case you need to save the engine from heat-damage). It features sounds recorded from the actual aircraft (OY-MBZ).

| Working TACAN Beacons in the Netherlands (For Default or NL2000 Scenery) |
|
File Description:
In real-life TACAN beacons require a TACAN receiver to receive the course (OBS) information of the beacon. With a civil VOR/DME receiver you only receive the distance (DME) from the beacon. The problem in FS is that there are no dedicated TACAN gauges, so it's not possible to perform TACAN approaches. These approaches require course information of the beacon. To overcome this problem this scenery modifies the TACAN beacons in the Netherlands so you can fully use them with civil receivers. So are able to fly TACAN approaches.

| LOWS 2006, Designator Patch |
|
File Description:
Since the deployment of the freeware "W.A. Mozart Airport in Salzburg/Austria" (LOWS 2006) by Johannes Kimla the magnetic deviation has changed significantly. Thus, in the real world, it was decided to change the designators for the runways accordingly. Since a few weeks the runways have been renamed: the former RW34 is now named "RW33", and corresponding to this the former RW16 is named "RW15" now.
For those flight simulation enthusiasts who want to fly in a simulated world close to reality we are offering a small patch which take account of these changes: the new designators are now visible on the runways, the taxiway signs should lead to the correct runways. In addition a small file is included which controls the proper approaches on RW15. Please note that this patch is only working with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004!!!
