Boeing 747-200 General Electric CF6-50E2 Download

File Description:
Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm VERY proud to present to you my General Electric CF6-50E2 soundset. After gaining experience in the field of sound-editing I decided to "upgrade" one of my older packages to today's standard :) That means this package is actually V2.0 of my Boeing 747-200 GE soundset. But don't be fooled, this isn't just a "revised" soundset. It's a completely NEW package, not a single sound remained untouched. The typical GE "multi-engine-whine" can finally hurt your ears in FS :P The soundset also includes APU & Internal Systems sounds to enrich the experience. My testbed was Project Opensky's awesome Boeing 747-200 model but the soundset can also be used with their 747-300 model. You can also equip the SGA DC-10s and the SGA or HNAC Airbus A300B2/B4s with this package. Enjoy!!

North American P-51D 355th FG (YF-S) "Our Blue Heaven" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a second repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D 44-14498 YF-S "Our Blue Heaven / Jennie & Me & Davy makes three (left side), Desirable Dottie / Virginia Darling (right side) ", the aircraft flown by Lt. Edward B Martin of the 358th FS/ 355th FG, based in Steeple Morden, UK. "Our Blue Heaven" was named after the favourite song of his wife Jeannie and himself. Davy making up the "three" is their son who was born whilst Lt. Martin was still with the 355th FG. I am not sure about the origin of the names on the right side, they made be from the ground crew. 44-14498 was previously "Big Stoop II" of Capt. James N McElroy and reassigned to Lt. Martin. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

St Michael Island in Alaska-St Michael 5S8 and Stebbins WBB Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
St Michael Island is 50 miles southwest of Unalakleet, an island that in fact appears to be a cape and a firmly attached piece of the mainland. On the island there are two villages, St Michael on the northeast corner and Stebbins on the northwest. St Michael has a new airfield that is west of the village by around a mile or so, with a gravel runway 4,000 feet long. The old and now closed airport was known as SMK, and is now readily identifiable by the new red-roofed school building that occupies the centre of the runway. The new airfield now has an icao code of PAMK, but FS9 does not readily accept icao code changes so we are stuck with the original code it was given, 5S8. The SMK icao of the old airport will still show on your gps as if I deleted it the runway would also have to be deleted, and a substitute and unsatisfactory gravel apron made to impersonate a runway. Stebbins is 5 miles west of St Michael and next to the shore, a smaller village than St Michael with around 250 inhabitants. The airfield is at the southern end of the village and has a gravel runway that is 3,000 feet long. The icao code is WBB. There is no AI included here as it was already included in the post of Shaktoolik. There is a correction here for Shaktoolik, which I now find should have had a blue garage, not a red one; I wrongly named a photo. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 501 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airfield (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

Twin Lakes Airstrips in British Columbia Canada Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
There are three grass airstrips within sight of each other from the air at Twin Lakes in BC, which is between the close junction of Elkin Lake and Vedan Lake. The two lakes are similarly shaped and sized and in the same narrow valley between high ground that runs north-south; hence the name. Elkin is to the north, and Vedan is to the south. Twin Lakes CAG4 is on the strip of land between the two lakes and it is unclear to me who it belongs to etc. It is not in the Nav Canada copy that I have with me which is from 2010, and the online version does not cover grass strips. It is probably owned by whoever lives in the house next to the red hangar. The runway is 3,600 feet of grass aligned 14-32 at 3,945 feet ASL. Chaunigan Lake Lodge CF83 is over to the northwest from Twin Lakes by around 2 miles or so and as the name suggests it services the Lodge of that name, which is on the northeast corner of Chaunigan Lake. The runway is 2,600 feet of grass aligned 02-20 at 4,900 feet ASL. You might want to read about altitude power reductions for the take off. Elkin Creek Guest Ranch CBL9 is at the southern end of Vedan Lake and serves the ranch. This appears to be another high-budget operation and the runway is 3,670 feet of grass aligned 36-18 at 3,999 feet ASL. I have posted this as three separate airstrips, but I suggest that you add these to your "BC airfields" folder as previously suggested. Up to you. If you find a defect, email me. Ignore the post of Chilanko Lodge posted today. I requested Avsim to delete it but it seems they didn't read the email. It was originally posted as a correction for the original post of the three posted here.

Koyukuk KYU in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Koyukuk is a small village on the northern bank of the Yukon River, around 5 miles east of where the river turns from north-south to east-west, east being upstream towards the distant Fairbanks. The mouth of the Koyukuk River that joins the Yukon is just to the east of the village. The population is now under 100 and living from fishing and the land. During the late 1800's the local population lived off the land and also by the spin off from gold mining in the same way as the nearby Nulato, but when in the early 1900's gold mining activities moved to Nome and Fairbanks local prosperity plunged. In fact, the village only became a permanently inhabited establishment in 1939, when a school was built. The airfield is close by and has a gravel runway aligned 6-24 and 4,000 feet long with PAPI on the approach to 6. There is also a shorter and parallel grass runway that is only used in the winter snows by light planes that are on skis and without wheels. Apart from the airfield itself, and it's buildings, this scenery modifies the local land class, adds village buildings while reducing the village size to reality, and creates a new airfield background. Koyukuk is served by Wright Air from Fairbanks in the east and this is included in the AI provided with the post of Nulato. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 509 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. Republic P-47D-25 324th FG (83) "Wee Three" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the P_47D-25 Bubbletop by Aeroplane Heaven, in the colors of P-47D-30 44-19726 #83 "Wee Three" of the 316th FS, 324th FG, 9th AF. The name came from its first pilot, who was married and had a small child, hence the "Wee Three". After he finished his tour, the aircraft was re-assigned to Lt John Jasper Yowell jr. On 19 march 1945, while on his 65th mission, to Pforzheim, the squadron was ambushed by a flight of Me-109's. His wingman, John Haun, shot down one Me-109, but Lt Yowell was hit by enemy fire and forced to bail out. Unfortunately, his parachute didn't open. He was found and buried in his parachute by French labourers. After the war, he was reinterred at Arlington National Cemetery. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aeroplane Heaven.

KLBB - Preston Smith Intl. - Lubbock, Texas Version 2.0 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Thank you for downloading this scenery. Lubbock is another one of those little known, neglected airports that populate the FS world. Avery simple airport, LBB somewhat feels like a little DFW. There is a very DFW-ish main terminal with fewer than 10 gates and plenty of space to grow. The only mainline service is courtesy Southwest, but several RJ's freqent Lubbock several times per day along with the big freighters. This airport was built from the ground up with excellent detail, and because of the sparse traffic, frame rates are excellent as well. Update: Recently, Lubbock has moved their east-west runway 8/26 roughly 1000 feet to the East so as to eliminate runway incursions by separation from the north-south runway 17R-35L. Version 2.0 reflects this modificaton. Several taxiways have been removed or modified, and airport fencing has been altered to reflect the change.
