Doherty's Difficult & Dangerous Approaches - Vol 70 Download

File Description:
FS 2004 Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches - Volume 70. I am constantly amazed by the high number of simers that restrict their flying activities to small localized areas, never venturing much further than their own backyards. I can't help thinking that they miss out on some truly great flying experiences by confining themselves to such limited parameters. If nothing else, Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches will get you out more! Whether you are simply a local pilot flying within your own well-worn neighbourhood, or a demanding adventurous international aviator, there's something for everyone in these volumes. For the new simer I have included some very easy approaches, and for the army of case-hardened veterans who think they have seen and done it all - let me tell you now - you haven't! I'll introduce you to approaches that will leave you absolutely flabbergasted - and may I add, begging for more! Each volume contains (10) difficult and dangerous approaches which are set up for you – all you have to do is fly them! I have also included a special ~ (STAR) ~ approach in each volume - which is a gem of an approach that will thrill and amaze you. If you've always wanted to know where all the difficult and dangerous approaches could be found in MSFS 2004, but never new where to look, I've discovered them all - and now I'm sharing them with you. Check out Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches - by Michael Doherty - you won't be disappointed.

General Electric CF6-80 - 767v3 - "Matched FDE" Download

File Description:
General Electric CF6-80 v2 soundpack simulating the engine type fitted on the Boeing 767. This is a quite major rebuild of the first Boeing 767 GE soundpack I made in February 2005. I've spent a lot of time tweaking and listening to how the the engines spool-up and I think the results are quite pleasing. Soundset is matched with the flight dynamics engine to make flying a lot more enjoyble. Instead of taking off with 100% thrust to really hear the turbofan and letting the speed rocket up to 240 in seconds and then have to decrease the thrust to 30% to not pass 250knots, you now can take-off with 85-90% of thrust, make a very smooth take-off roll and controlled climb. A recommended N1 setting (thrust) is 85-90% for take-off! New features in this set: Matched to use with the Project OpenSky Boeing 767v4 family flight dynamics engine exclusively (this pack might not work correctly with other 767 planes), New spool and turbofan sound for the interior as well as the exterior, New cockpit environment, Cockpit environment can now be turned off when pushing the "Battery on/off" button (for those panels fitted with these), New interior and exterior APU (These sound kicks in when engines are turned off). Please take a look in the readme for possible important info. Created in FS Sound Studio. Enjoy!

ILS and GPS Approach Creator v1.1 for FS9 and FSX (for non-US/UK users) Download

File Description:
The original version of this program did not work on computers in countries which use a comma as the decimal separator (apologies for that). Version 1.1 fixes this problem and should work in all countries (including the US and UK) regardless of the format of their decimal numbers. This is the full package, so you do not need to download version 1.0 as well. If the original version is working on your computer, then there is no need for you to download this version instead, as the two versions are functionally identical. This easy-to-use program allows the user to add an ILS and/or a GPS approach to any airport in FS9 or FSX. The user will be able to select the approach in the GPS unit, and request the approach from ATC. The ATC will then vector you to make an ILS or GPS approach. The AI will also be able to use the ILS approach, and you will hear them say so over the radio. The program was designed with the non-expert user in mind, and no familiarity with XML coding is assumed. The program supports up to four FS installations. The program needs to be run in conjunction with AFCAD (or a similar utility for FSX). You will also need the .NET Framework 2.0 and MSXML 4.0 installed on your computer. Tested with XP Home and Pro. Full instructions included.

Avon STOLPort (KWHR) Download

File Description:
A recreation of the Avon STOLPort (ident KWHR) for MS Flight Simulator 2004, A Century of Flight. Avon was operated as an exclusive destination for Rocky Mountain Airways between (approximately) 1978 and sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. The 4,000' runway was short for the nearly 7,500' elevation, and surrounded by mountains, some towering over 6,000' above the airport elevation. To allow all weather operation, the airport eventually featured what was reported as the steepest ILS ever constructed, with a seven degree glideslope. RMA had exclusive use of the tiny STOLPort and operated it with 50-passenger De Haviland Dash 7 equipement. Lacking the original chart, I surveyed in FS and plotted what is hopefully an accurate representation of the ILS approach, using my best understanding of TERPS - the US standard for instrument approaches. I also created an NOS-style IAP chart of this approach for the package. A text Takeoff Minimums & Procedure is also included. AI ATC & traffic recognition of the approach will hopefully follow, but does not exist yet. In other words, you can fly this approach and see the localizer in the GPS, but AI ATC will not give you vectors to it. You'll need to follow the full procedure included on the chart. Please see the full Readme.txt in "Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\KWHR\Docs" in this zipfile for information on installation of the scenery, flying the approach, and more on the history of the Avon STOLPort.

AI Mexicana Link AI Malcontent Bombardier CRJ-200 Fleet Pack Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the Third Oldest Airline in the world, the Second Oldest Airline in Latin America, and the First Oldest Airline in Mexico, Mexicana Airlines (Mexicana de Aviacion), this is the Airbus A318-111 for now the pack have the Last New Livery (2010) and the Old Livery (2005), more later will upload the Older Liveries, the Old Livery but with the Thin Logo and No Wingtips Logos, and the mos popular and old Mexicana´s livery, (1997-2005). For the 100th Anniversary I´ll upload all the fleet, since 1940´s with the DC-2 to the last fleet that had when it flies, the Mark and Airline still exists, BUT It doesn´t fly since 2011. In this case this is the MexicanaLink, a subsidiary of Mexicana based in Guadalajara International Airport, was the feeder airline for Mexicana and MexicanaClick, operating in markets that did not justify the use of larger aircraft, as they were considered thin routes. This airline was the regional operator, while MexicanaClick was the domestic low-price airline that competed with Interjet, Volaris and Viva Aerobus. The airline's presentation to the media was made on March 10, 2009.The fleet consisted in 2010 in Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-200. I´ll upload very soon the other Model Raven FS Labs (RFSL/RAI) Bombardier CRJ-200, with the same fleet pack than this model. The model is AI Malcontent (AIM) Bombardier CRJ-200 Basepack. I hope enjoy it!.

Lake Hood LHD and Z41 in Anchorage Alaska UPDATED Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is an updated version that is complete in itself and which greatly upgrades Lake Hood Airstrip Z41 and also makes minor modifications to LHD. Lake Hood is right next door and to the north of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and there is a second airfield on the north side of the lake called Lake Hood Airstrip. The airstrip is coded Z41, the International is PANC, and Lake Hood itself is LHD. You will need Ultimate Terrain Alaska Canada for this to work, and you should also download and install Anchorage International (verson 4?) by William Morgan of FRFStudio. LHD/Z41 includes a fair proportion of the 780 float planes that are based there and which make Lake Hood the largest and busiest float plane base in the world, averaging 190 flights per day during the year and a lot more than that per day during the summer months. There is fuel at two places on the lake, and a lot of maintenance help available. The documentation showing the VFR routes to Lake Hood is also included in the Lake Hood VFR procedures folder, and basically, if you listen to the ATC chatter, planes either route via the Ball Park or the Gravel Pit, which gets abbreviated to something like "You want the park or the gravel?" which wouldn't mean a whole lot to an unrehearsed stranger. Unfortunately FS doesn't reach that level of sophistication, but you can still take the right route. There is a google marked map showing the locations of the checkpoints.

Amundsen-Scott Station Download

File Description:
The Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station is the American scientific research station on the high plateau of Antarctica. This station is located at the southernmost place on the Earth, the Geographic South Pole, at an elevation of 2,835 meters (9301 feet) above sea level. Since the Amundsen-Scott Station is located at the South Pole, it is at the only place on the land surface of the Earth where the sun is continuously up for six months and then continuously down for six months. (The only other such place is at the North Pole, on the sea ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean.) Thus, during each year, this station experiences one extremely long "day" and one extremely long "night". During the six-month "day", the angle of elevation of the Sun above the horizon varies continuously. The sun rises on the September equinox, reaches its maximum angle above the horizon on the summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, around 20 December, and sets onthe March equinox. During the six-month "night", it gets extremely cold at the South Pole, with air temperatures sometimes dropping below -73 C (-100 F). This is also the time of the year when blizzards, sometimes with gale-force winds, strike the Amundsen-Scott Station. The continuous period of darkness and dry atmosphere make the station an excellent place from which to make astronomical observations. This file has the apron and characteristics of the airport the coordenates are placed as far south FS allow it.

McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II (AI Phantoms Phorever Part 1) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II (AI Phantoms Phorever Part 1). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and many of the 5,057 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This model set utilized FSDS source files for Nick Black's original F-4E Phantom II 8-LOD AI model, and has been heavily modified for this project. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains early and late F-4C base models, as well as the EF-4C Wild Weasel variant. The three main aircraft variants include a total of 24 loadout options, and numerous paints representing these aircraft in service. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for eager repainters. Of particular note, for the F-4C late model, is a large collection of 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing repaints from my hometown Luke AFB from the 1970s. This project is the first part of what will hopefully be a comprehensive and fairly complete (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Original FSDS source and paint kit by Nick Black; FDE by Mike MacIntyre, all model/paint kit modifications and repaints by Michael Pearson.
