Hana Heli-Obstacle Course v3.0 Download

File Description:
Hana Airport is a regional airport of the State of Hawaii on the east shore of the island of Maui, 3 NM northwest of the unincorporated town of Hana. The airport covers 119 acres and has one runway. It is primarily a commuter facility used by unscheduled air taxis and general aviation. This scenery is intended as a single/multiplayer helicopter obstacle course where heli pilots can meet to compete, show off, and share their helo skills. Since birdseye (Timm Turner) already did a neat scenery called Hana_Scenery_PHHN (search for "hana" in the HoverControl Downloads), we decided to convert PHHN to a full helicopter training area. Makes a great place for helo pilots to gather to practice and perfect their skills, and challenge other pilots! And keep an eye-out for that Hot Air Balloon, cruising around an altitude of 3000 feet (don't forget to wave at them!). Another unique thing about this scenery is the neighboring islands (Honolulu Intl/Hickam AFB, Bellows AFB, Lanai City, Kahului, Molokai, etc). If you get frustrated during your heli obstacle course training, just take a heading of 275 degrees, and relax at one of the neighboring islands. We also added an Easter Egg - If you set your FS calendar to July 21st, you'll see a large ridge fire up in the hills. Load Jordan Moore's Erickson S64E (http://www.hovercontrol.com/) & try your skills at water bombing!

Aasiaat BGAA on the west coast of Greenland Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I wrote that Qikiqtarjuaq, on the east coast of Baffin Island, was the jumping off airfield for ferry flights for small planes from Canada to Europe via Greenland. Aasiaat is the airfield in Greenland that they jump to, 300 miles across the Davis Strait. The airfield is on the northern coast of Aasiaat Island, and the town of the same name is just two miles to the west. The runway is 2,600 feet of asphalt almost 100 feet wide and lit, at 74 feet ASL, aligned 12/30, with the apron and terminal building at the western end. Air Greenland run regular flights with a Dash-7 or 8, & Twin Otters, and the markings for the taxiway and parking spot in front of the terminal are exactly as they were six years ago. I have seen video since then that has further taxiway and parking spot markings added in, but I like the simplicity of the original. Unfortunately, given the limitations of FS and the single runway and simple taxiway routing there was no way to replicate both the parking facing away from the terminal AND the "through" taxiing to complete the circle back to the runway; after parking correctly the AI Air Greenland Dash-8 will reverse before heading out to take off. There is both JetA and 100LL fuel available. The surrounding area is rocky, and there is no grass around the runway; the airfield has compacted gravel instead.

YWWI - Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine, Western Australia Download

File Description:
YWWI Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine - Pilbara Manganese, a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Minerals (Consmin), operates the Woodie Woodie mine, which produces high-grade manganese ore of superior quality. The ore is sold to the international steel industry. Production in 2010 was 1,238,000t @ 46.2% Mn, with a capacity of 2.5mtpa of high grade lump and fines. The high-grade lump produced by the mine is an ideal blending material with high manganese and is very low in phosphorus. Furthermore, the lump is hard, has very low degradation and high thermal stability. The mine has a 100.5km2 mining corridor and approximately 5,500km2 of greenfield areas outside this corridor. Multiple open pits are in operation and owner mining of ore is used to promote selectivity and to minimise dilution. The mine also employs contract mining of waste to promote efficient bulk mining practices. The mineral processing techniques include crushing, screening and heavy media separation. Woodie Woodie has a new camp and an all-weather air-strip constructed in 2009, suitable for large aircrafts. Ore is trucked to Port Hedland for shipment. Consmin has committed in excess of A$34 million to exploration in 2011, with the intention to explore more than 60 corridor targets and more than 130 regional targets from nine prospect areas. www.consminerals.com.au/m/files/fs/woodie-woodie-fact-sheet.pdf REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

North American P-51D Mustang "Hell-er Bust" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A repaint only for the payware Warbirdsim product 'Mustang Tales'. This repaint depicts the restored P-51D-20-NA 44-72438, "Hell-er Bust", registered N7551T. This specific aircraft is known to have been delivered to the 8th Air Force in England in late January 1945, however no available records indicate any combat time or what, if any, Fighter Group the aircraft was assigned. Following the end of WWII the aircraft served with the Swedish AF as Fv26131, and then with the Dominican AF as FAD 1920. After being imported back into the U.S. in the 1980's, the aircraft was purchased by Selby Burch and given a ground-up restoration. Finished in 118th TRS markings, the aircraft won the Grand Champion WWII Warbird award at Sun 'N Fun 1997. The aircraft was later purchased by Bob Jepson/Lady Alice Corporation and first repainted as 'Lady Alice' and then as 'Hell-er Bust'. In 2006 the aircraft was obtained by the Historic Aircraft Foundation and based at Paine Field, near Seattle, WA. Since 2009, the aircraft has been owned by Mark Peterson/Mustang High Flight LLC, based at Boise, Idaho, and remains finished as 'Hell-er Bust'. The markings depict an original wartime mount of Lt. Col. Edwin L. 'Ed' Heller, a P-51D-10-NA (44-14696) of the 486th FS, 352nd FG. This repaint features new bump maps, wheel well, gun bay, and cockpit textures.

McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II (Version 2) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II (Version 2). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and some of the 5,057 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This revised model set is what I originally envisioned when I undertook the modification of Nick Black's F-4E source files. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains early, middle, and late F-4B base models; as well as the QF-4B with its NOLO (No Live Operator) drone configuration. The four main aircraft variants include a total of 27 loadout options, and 68 repaints representing these aircraft in service with the US Navy and United States Marine Corps. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for repainters. While I did not paint every squadron from every cruise or time period, I believe there is a nice spread of representation in this package. This project properly updates my comprehensive (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Original FSDS source and paint kit by Nick Black; FDE by Mike MacIntyre, all model/paint kit modifications and repaints by Michael Pearson.

Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches - Volume 2 Download

File Description:
FS 2004 Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches - Volume 2. I am constantly amazed by the high number of simers that restrict their flying activities to small localized areas, never venturing much further than their own backyards. I can't help thinking that they miss out on some truly great flying experiences by confining themselves to such limited parameters. If nothing else, Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches will get you out more! Whether you are simply a local pilot flying within your own well-worn neighbourhood, or a demanding adventurous international aviator, there's something for everyone in these volumes. For the new simer I have included some very easy approaches, and for the army of case-hardened veterans who think they have seen and done it all - let me tell you now - you haven't! I'll introduce you to approaches that will leave you absolutely flabbergasted - and may I add, begging for more! Each volume contains (10) difficult and dangerous approaches which are set up for you – all you have to do is fly them! I have also included a special ~ (STAR) ~ approach in each volume - which is a gem of an approach that will thrill and amaze you. If you've always wanted to know where all the difficult and dangerous approaches could be found in MSFS 2004, but never new where to look, I've discovered them all - and now I'm sharing them with you. Check out Doherty's Difficult and Dangerous Approaches.
