File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-51D Mustang. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by John Terrell. It is for FSX only, as it contains 2048 x 2048 textures. For FS9, look for my earlier "Sierra Sue II" repaint, which contains a low res version of this repaint.
This aircract represents a J-26 of the Royal Swedish Air Force. A/C 26152 was previously 44-63675 E6-D "Sierra Sue II" of the 402nd FS, USAAF, flown by Lt. Bob Bohna. She was sold to Sweden after the war and flew with with 3rd squadron of the F4 wing, based on the island of Froson, with Cpl Sten Soderquist as her regular pilot. In 1954, she was sold to Nicaragua were she flew with registration GN91. She came to the US in 1970 and is currently owned by Roger Christgau, who flies her as "Sierra Sue II / Gul Kalle". Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by John Terrell.

| P-51D 52nd FG QP-U "Hey Rube! IV" |

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A/Shockwave World War II Fighters P-51D Mustang, representing 44-14227 "Hey Rube! IV", which flew with the 2nd FS/ 52nd FG from Madna, Italy in july 1944, with Captain Daniel Zoerb as its assigned pilot. Zoerb played in a carnival band before the war, and the expression "Hey Rube!" was used to indicate that trouble was about to break out. This aircraft ended up in Rumania. During an escort mission on 8 september 1944, to pick up some American POW's with a B17, Capt Zoerb lost power over Bucharest airfield and made a very hard landing, buckling the wings. He stayed overnight with the Rumanian pilots and was treated to a real feast: Sheep's head soup! The next day, he flew back in a B17. He finished his combat tour a major with seven kills and as CO of the squadron.
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by John Terrell. It should work in both FSX and FS9.

The TweakFS Utility Collection for FSX includes the following: TweakFlight for FSX (Flight File Editor), TweakFPS for FSX (Scenery Mode Editor), TweakLoad for FSX (Aircraft Loading Editor), TweakAircraft for FSX (Aircraft Config File Editor) and the TweakFS Explorer (File Manager for FSX). Detailed terrain mesh of the Hindu Kush and Pamir Ranges, N32-40 E70-76. The files in this package are based on Shuttle Radar (SRTM) Version 2 data but with many of the void areas, especially the most significant sections, filled with elevation data generated from topographic maps by Jonathan de Ferranti. While Jonathan's work is unrelated to flight simulation he kindly gave me permission to compile his data for use in FS. The result is a wonderful improvement in detail and accuracy over any existing mesh file, freeware or commercial, based on SRTM or DTED data alone.
Due to the large area of the Himalayas I've compiled the source data as two separate series: the "Himalayan Peaks" series covers prominent mountains and ranges in higher detail and locally overrides any existing LOD9 terrain mesh. In addition, the LOD9 "base mesh" series, with LOD8 and LOD7 "buffer" mesh files, covering the entire Himalayas, is meant for those who do not yet have an add-on terrain mesh of these beautiful mountains.

Dear Friends simmer, using the great objects bgl by mr Gianluca Giovannini, I tried to fill with autogen trees / buildings , the urban area near the international airport of Palermo "Falcone Borsellino". With the current integration of scenery i have created the town of Cinisi, Villagrazia di Carini, Torre Muzza and part of the smalls village near Airport.
Warning Very Important: the scenery "is not complete" and to get the best result YOU MUST INSTALL the following files:
-mesh by Pietro mauri (or SIMILAR mesh OF Sicily) (available HERE);
-install the wonderfull scenery LICJ by Francesco Salsano (available HERE);
-the "Palermo Vfr" by Fulvio Mazzokan (available HERE).

While Jonathan's work is unrelated to flight simulation he kindly gave me permission to compile his data for use in FS. The result is a wonderful improvement in detail and accuracy over any existing mesh file, freeware or commercial, based on SRTM or DTED data alone.
Due to the large area of the Himalayas I've compiled the source data as two separate series: the "Himalayan Peaks" series covers prominent mountains and ranges in higher detail and locally overrides any existing LOD9 terrain mesh. This folder contains a repaint for the Douglas C-54 / DC-4 by Flight Replicas. It shows Douglas DC-4 VH-PAF in the colors of Pacific Air Freighters.
VH-Paf was originally delivered new to the USAAF as 44-9126 on May 14, 1945. It transferred to the USAF in 1947 and was Withdrawn from service and stored at Davis Montahan, Arizona - December 1971. She was sold to Dross Metals in 1975 and entered onto the United States Aircraft Register as N9013V.She then flew for several companies in the US until she was seized by Bahamas authorities for alleged smuggling activities in April 1981. She was sold again, among others flying for Lynch Air Tankers Inc, Billings, Montana between 1984 and 1995 as 'City of Billings'.
She then went to Australia with Pacific Air Freighters Pty Ltd, arriving in Cairns on completion of the ferry flight to Australia in June 1995.
The ferry route was Chino - Hilo - Majuro - Honiara - Cairns, the first leg of this ferry flight took 14 hours. On arrival at Majuro some problems associated with Number 2 engine were worked on before departing for Honiara. During this leg Number 2 engine began to play up so it was shut down in flight. As the problem could not be rectified it was decided to carry on to Cairns as planned on three engines. She was ferried Cairns - Brisbane (Archerfield) on three engines in june 1995 and entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-PAF on January 31, 1996
She commenced long term contract with Goroka Air Service, Papua New Guinea - October 14, 1996. Returned to Brisbane after 3 months and placed in open storage and sold at auction to Airfreighters International P/L - May 22, 1997. Services were flown under the name of Pacific Air Freighters. Chartered by Ansett Australia Cargo for service Brisbane - Darwin - September 15, 2000. She was then sold to Historical Aviation Restoration Society Inc and ferried to Brisbane - Albion Park Regional Airport, where she was reregistered as VH-EAY - June 23, 2008. At present, she is undergoing complete overhaul for return to airworthy condition.
