XFCS 1.5 (Fly By Wire-plugin) Download

File Description:
XFCS simulates fly-by-wire control of combat aircraft. See readme.pdf for indepth description. News in version 1.5 - XFCS now works with X-Plane's autopilot. All autopilot commands are exectuted by the FCS control laws, resulting in excellent autopilot accuracy and seemless integration. - Improved pitch response in AoA-demand mode. - AoA-demand mode blends AoA and speed data, making it easier to control speed and glideslope with power adjustments. - AoA-feedback in G-demand mode: Flying above 15 degrees angle of attack requires light stick backpressure. Many real control systems work this way. - Inverted flight now requires slight forward stick pressure. A lot of pilots feel more at home with this behaviour and many real FCSs have it. - Mach bucket is now simulated. This is a common way to handle transsonic pitch buffeting. Max load factor is decreased by 2 Gs in the Mach .95 - 1.1 range. - XFCS should now run faster on low end computers, having less effect on frame rate. - Transition from ground mode to flight mode now follows pitch attitude instead of airspeed. This works better for most designs.

Airstrips of Switzerland Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Just a small collection of of ai-enabled airfields, that don't appear to have been implemented by other authors, to further expand my Airstrips of Europe project. Again, there's no photo-realism here, just a selection of basic 'generic' buildings, more or less accurately sized and placed to reflect the airfield layout as seen on on-line satellite imagery and aerial photography. These buildings have minimal effect on frame-rates, so are ideal for this kind of job. The airfields are aligned as well as possible with the roads etc. in UT Europe and the Genesis Europe mesh, but should mostly be fine in a default installation or other configuration. As before, the files for each airfield can be easily identified by the ICAO code, even if the airfield names vary slightly, so you can pick and choose and mix and match to suit any sceneries you already have, should you so wish. There is no requirement for any other download. Each airfield will exist as a stand-alone entity should you only want a few of them. Please read the rest of this "blurb" in the included text file. There may be some details of note or interest.

Airstrips of South-West France Download

File Description:
Part two of my "Airstrips of Western Europe" project, these 90+ sceneries are mostly default basic airstrips from FS2004, enhanced with taxiways, parking spaces and aprons as appropriate, to facilitate the activation of lightweight GA AI traffic, primarily over the south-west of France. Hopefully these will allow a degree of continuity between my previous upload (Airstrips of North-West Europe) and the existing freeware releases for Spain and Portugal. A good number of airfields in this area have been neatly implemented in the "Occitania_VFR" package, so I've not duplicated their work. Also included are some "bonus" sceneries from further north that weren't included in my previous upload. Just copy them over as appropriate if required.

ENBSeries for FSX Download

File Description:
CORRECTED VERSION - Accidently included the wrong d3d9.dll in the previous upload, which messes up your textures. This one is the right one. My main goal in adjusting this ENBSeries file was to make sunny days look sunny and dark nights look dark, while maintaining a natural look to all things as much as possible (so no exaggerated bloom effects which you don't see at all in real life) I only changed the BLOOM and the COLOR CORRECTION options, nothing else. I have all the other options turned off anyway, since I don't have a very powerful computer. If you want to change options yourself you can read the 'readme_en.txt' for further information.

I included some screenshots to compare the default lightning to my custom made ENBSeries version (press the ZipDive! button to see them without downloading the whole package)

Install:
- Just copy the d3d9.dll and enbseries.ini to the FSX root folder.
- When in FSX you can press [SHIFT] + [F12] to turn the effect on or off. To remove, simply delete the 2 files from your FSX root folder.

Deering PADE in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Deering is a coastal village around 55 miles southwest of Kotzebue, living from fishing and the land and with a population of around 130. The airfield is inland from the coast and has two gravel runways, 11-29 of just under 3,000 feet and 2-20 of 3,700 feet; the US is the only country that names runways with single numerals, hence 2-20 that in Canada would be 02-20. And Canada, which is a metric country and gives speed limits on roads in kilometres per hour, flies in feet and not metres for runway lengths and flight levels. The two runways could have something to do with there being a National Guard Armoury in the village, and perhaps personnel being flown in for exercises in the local countryside. Apart from the airfield itself, and it's buildings, this scenery modifies the local (mostly treeless) land class, reduces the village size to reality, and creates a new airfield background. Bering Air flies into Deering from Kotzebue and is included in the AI. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 504 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airport (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

Lockheed L-049 Constellation (48-613) USAF "Bataan" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Lockheed L049 Constellation in the colors of 48-613 "Bataan". It was delivered to the USAF as a C-121A and was used in the Berlin Airlift. It was the personal aircraft of General MacArthur between 9/1950 and 4/1951 and named Bataan. It then served as a VIP aircraft until 1965. In 1966 it went to NASA who used it as N422NA until 1970, when it was declared surplus. It went to the Planes of Fame museum in Valle, AZ, where it was displayed as Bataan and is currently in Chino for restoration. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

Beechcraft D18S (VH-CLF) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Beech D18S by Carenado, in the colors of Connellan Airways VH-CLF. Built in 1945 as C-45F 44-87209, this aircraft was never delivered to the air force, but went to Philippine Airways as PI-C80 instead. In 1948 it went to Hong Kong as VR-HED and then to the UK as G-ALJJ. It arrived in Australia in 1952, becoming VH-KFD and was sold to Eddie Connellan in 1955. It was reregistered as VH-CLF in 1959. The aircraft was retired in 1965, and was burnt in Alice Springs for fire practice in 1974. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the white textures supplied by Carenado.

Air Antilles Douglas DC-3 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-3 in Air Antilles colors. The freeware DC-3/C-47 v3 by Manfred Jahn is needed for this repaint. Air Antilles was founded in 1954 under the name of Antilles Air Service and began scheduled services in 1957. It was renamed to Air Antilles in 1964. They operated regular services in the Carribean, especially in the French West Indies. They had flights from Pointe-a-Pitre, in Gouadeloupe, to other islands in the region, such as the Leeward Islands, French Antilles, and Montserrat . Their main aircraft was the DC-3. The airline ceased operations in 1978. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX & P3D v1-3.
