File Description:
These AF2 files are based on the file from David Mackie's RAF Lyneham scenery. However, they are also fully compatible with the default. They have been modified with guidance from various aerial photographs (eg. Google Earth etc). I have tested them with and without the Justflight VFR photographic scenery, and all the main airfield features have been aligned accordingly. So whatever combination of scenery you have on your system, there is a suitable afcad for you included within this release.
It is FULLY compatible with the UK Military AI Project releases and many others eg. Ed Kooymans, MAIW etc. My motivation for this update was primarily to provide a better looking airfield for users of my Air Charter Express package, available from Avsim (extended search: author "Dan Foster", sort by release date). But given the lack of decent Lyneham AF2 files that can adequately handle the RAF Hercules component, I hope this release will appeal to a much wider base.

Note: The utilization percentage of the MD87 is really low, as in reality. Air Uganda prefers to use the CRJ200 as it is more efficient on fuel needs and operating costs.
Load factor is also better on the CRJ200 (50 seats) than on the MD87 (130 seats).
A second CRJ200 should join the fleet early 2010, which presumably will mean the retreat of the MD87. (They already have 2 other non utilized MD87).

Burwash Landing is a very small village in the Yukon Territory, Canada, situated amid the Rocky Mountains at the northern end of Kluane Lake and some 30 miles from Silver City. The airfield, called just "Burwash" in the Nav Canada listing, is 2 miles northwest of the village and adjacent to the Alaska Highway. The runway is 5,000 feet of lit gravel aligned 10-19 and 130 feet wide, with VASI at each end. The date of this scenery is, as usual, around 2010. There is a company based at the airfield called Rocking Star Adventures, which is engaged in the same activity as the other companies at Haines Junction and Silver City, ie taking tourists around the glaciers of Kluane National Park. The park is very imressive from the air. The Ai was included with the Haines Junction post.

This package includes all the Hellenic Spitfires expect the Spitfire pr Mk.XI witch appeared in one unit and pr Mk.XIII in three units. You can fly the spitfire mk.Vb/c, Spitfire mk.IXe LF/HF and Spitfire Mk.XVIe LF. Greece in 9/23/1938 ordered 12 Spitfires and 12 Anson. During the June of 1939 it was signed the order of 24 Spitfires which cost 9335 pounds each. When Hitler attacked to Poland, England used all the aircrafts that were under construction and of course the Greek were some of them. On 10/12/1943, the 336th Olympus Squadron received the first Spitfire and followed the 335th Tiger Squadron. The Spitfire mk.Vb/c replaced the Hurricane mk.IIb/c. Thanks to a major investment in 1964 by some large Dutch shipping companies, the 1958 founded Dutch charter company Martin's Air Charter, proud owner of a fleet of two de Havilland DH-104 Dove, four Douglas C-47, and one Douglas C-54B, was able to purchase from KLM one Convair 340 and one Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas aircraft. On 27 February 1964 the DC-7C PH-DSO was delivered at Schiphol. In November 1964 and May 1965 PH-DSL and PH-DSC were also bought from KLM. A fourth one, PH-MAK which has not been included in this package, was acquired from Alitalia. The great advantages of the DC-7C over the much smaller C-54B were its pressurised fuselage, its huge flying range and its payload, which was almost twice the C-54's payload. It was a very popular aircraft among crew and passengers alike. From September 1968 till late October 1968, PH-DSL, all white with red crosses applied to the wings, fuselage and fin, flew on the Biafra airlift from the island of Fernando Po to Uli airstrip to provide humanitarian aid, on behalf of the Dutch Red Cross. With the exception of PH-MAK which was sold to Spain in 1967, MAC's DC-7C's soldiered on till late 1968/early 1969 when they were sold. These are textures only.
