| Boeing B-17G 91st BG (LL-E) "Shoo shoo shoo baby" restored |

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G-35-BO 42-32076, the former "Shoo shoo shoo baby". In 1968, the ancestry of F-BGSH, an old B-17 languishing in derelict state on Creil Airfield in France, was discovered by the Australian aviation historian Steve Birdsall, who notified the USAF museum that this was a combat veteran that had flown operational missions, in contrast to most other surviving B-17's. Following negotiations, the B-17 was donated to the US by the French Government. Interestingly, its Swedish heritage attracted interest from Sweden as well, but nothing came of this. The aircraft was disassembled at Creil and trucked to Frankfurt and flown to the US in 1972, where it arrived, packed in 27 crates. No plans or funds for restoration were present at the time, but in 1977, Mike Leiston, a technician at Dover AFB contacted the museum about the possibility of restoring one of the museum's aircraft by volunteers at Dover AFB. With project approved, 42-32076 was transported to Dover, with the aim of restoring it to a stock wartime B-17G. Upon arrival, Paul McDuffee, who had flown her for 13 missions, was present, and the reunion was clearly an emotional one as he commented "I've just got to go over and kiss her", which he did.
The restoration continued to 1988,and after some 60.000 ma hours, "Shoo shoo shoo baby"took to the skies again for the first time on 11 september. On 14 october 1988, she flew for the last time, to the USAF museum near Dayton, Ohio, where she can still be seen. The main difference with her wartime looks is the fact that she currently sports an olive drab camouflage paint, which was necessary due to all the metal work needed to bring her back to a stock B-17G condition. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

| Twin Lakes Airstrips in British Columbia Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
There are three grass airstrips within sight of each other from the air at Twin Lakes in BC, which is between the close junction of Elkin Lake and Vedan Lake. The two lakes are similarly shaped and sized and in the same narrow valley between high ground that runs north-south; hence the name. Elkin is to the north, and Vedan is to the south. Twin Lakes CAG4 is on the strip of land between the two lakes and it is unclear to me who it belongs to etc. It is not in the Nav Canada copy that I have with me which is from 2010, and the online version does not cover grass strips. It is probably owned by whoever lives in the house next to the red hangar. The runway is 3,600 feet of grass aligned 14-32 at 3,945 feet ASL. Chaunigan Lake Lodge CF83 is over to the northwest from Twin Lakes by around 2 miles or so and as the name suggests it services the Lodge of that name, which is on the northeast corner of Chaunigan Lake. The runway is 2,600 feet of grass aligned 02-20 at 4,900 feet ASL. You might want to read about altitude power reductions for the take off. Elkin Creek Guest Ranch CBL9 is at the southern end of Vedan Lake and serves the ranch. This appears to be another high-budget operation and the runway is 3,670 feet of grass aligned 36-18 at 3,999 feet ASL. I have posted this as three separate airstrips, but I suggest that you add these to your "BC airfields" folder as previously suggested. Up to you. If you find a defect, email me. Ignore the post of Chilanko Lodge posted today. I requested Avsim to delete it but it seems they didn't read the email. It was originally posted as a correction for the original post of the three posted here.

File Description:
Freeware project KOBE X (RJBE) Japan. Contains fully detailed airport with custom ground polygons. Accurate 3d model and texture of all the building of the airport including the terminal, control tower, hangars, bridge and many more. Please note that this project was my initial experience in many fields of scenery design so take it as it is and enjoy flying in Japan. The design is never done but I think it was ready to be released. Still have some work to do with the animated jetways and night lighting for my next "payware" project (KSAN, San Diego Intl). It's going to be far better than this freeware.
You can download the world of ai installer and install the All Nippon Airways package and maybe the JAL too. The jetways are not animated but you can park a 747 in gate 1, a 767 in gate 5 and a 737 in gate 6 and be perfectly aligned with the jetway door.
Also I've not try this scenery in a less powerful computer than mine. I run a Windows 7, I7-950 @ 3.8 GHz and a GTX 570. So don't get mad if you're having bad performances :). With all sliders in the "display settings" set to max I've around 20 fps in the virtual cockpit of the level-d 767. You'll get a nicer airport with also the global texture resolution set to max, water effects set to High 2.x and traffic to ultra-high. Do not turn on Ground scenery shadows as it will make a shadow for the entire airport (ground poly).
I've some tutorial on my YouTube channel (n170toga) on how to make fsx sceneries if you are interested. Don't forget to subscribe there and have updates for the upcoming scenery. Please review this airport if you like as I will learn a lot for my next
project and it's only going to be better.
This scenery is a freeware and should be considered as a freeware. Arigato, Sagga Toure (Devinci), Devinci Design and Development (3De)

Images related to this file:
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Aerosoft PBY Catalina for FSX. It is shown here as C-FCRR, with Air France colors. Built by Boeing of Canada at Vancouver, it became RCAF Canso 9767 on March 4, 1943, and was allocated to Squadron 162, coded S, at Reykjavik, Iceland. In 1944, piloted by Flying Officers Thomas Charles Cooke and Eric Walter Wiskin, 9767 sank the German U-boat U-342 off the coast of Iceland on April 17. The amphibian was removed from the military service on April 1, 1946. The same year it was sold to Canadian Pacific Airlines, registered CF-CRR and assigned fleet number 233 (later 933), it was operated until 1959, thereafter by Northland Airlines (1960-1968), Midwest Airlines (1969-1970), and Ilford Riverton until 1973. The registration was changed to C-FCRR when Avalon Aviation acquired it as a water bomber in 1977, listed as Tanker number 791.
In 1995 the aircraft was bought by Powell Eorp. Of Parry Sound, Ontario, subsequently it was owned by the Canadian Air Legend. The French pilot Franklin Devaux bought C-FCRR in 1995 and converted it to a flying television studio, it was based at Le Bourget, Paris, France. During 1996 C-FCRR was the star of monthly French television programme Operation Okavango, while in September 1998 it was the eye catcher of the three-week Champs-Elysees (Paris) static air show. The following October the aircraft started an 8,078 mls (13,000 km) trip to Chile via Dakar (Senegal) and Natal (Brazil) to commemorate early Air France South Atlantic mail service, returning to France in June 1999. On January 19, 2002 the aircraft was stored at Orly Airport, Paris, and has not flown since. Its Canadian registration was cancelled on October 7, 2005. At present it seems to be registered as N9767, and in airworthy condition again. Here's a youtube movie on this aircraft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jyzV8Gawc. Images related to this file:
File Description:
This scenery is a homage to the great military airport of Cameri NO, Italy; it has been revised with complete new ground that solves the previous flickering problems; it is builded-up with ownmade GMax objects and other existing ones; some buildings by GMax, remainder by others and by Generic Building system.
Information: Built during 1910 close to Novara, it became a prestigious Flight School where a lot of pilots of WWI where trained. Later, Gabardini/CANSA entered by promoting and developing aviation activities, mainly establishing a military flight school. On 27th July 1914, first of story's time, a flight from Cameri crossed the Alps (Camery - Viege, over Monte Rosa) with a Gabardini 80HP aircraft and pilot Achille Landini together with Giuseppe Lampugnani passenger. On 1930 the school closed, but the field still remained as aviation workshop. During the WWII the airport was quite destroyed by the german army, during their retreat. After the war, the rebuild operations carried on to Cameri several details, of which the acrobatic patrol of "Lancieri Neri" and, 1967-1999, the great 53th "Stormo Caccia". On 1998 the storm was moved to Gioia del Colle airport and the base was restructured as Comand Airport, where some technical departments still works (the 453th Operative Technical Services Group, the 553th Logistic Operative Services Group and, mainly the 1st Aircrafts Maintenance Dep.nt)
Contents: all around new great terrain for about 4.5 x 3.5 km; static aircraft inside hangar as Tornado, Eurofighter and historic monoliths at admittance and inside airport; ground equipments, cars outside and inside airport, bus, tankers, emergency trucks; military shelters (10) and workshop ones (5); buildings outside/inside airport, control tower, VOR, radar tower and some other navaids; lights at hangars, admittance and all over the boundaries; more then 10 km boundary by walls and fences of the complete areas; thousands trees all over the scenery. | Italian Air Force "S.M.Luigi Gorrini" AerMacchi C.205 VELTRO (Greyhound) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Regarded as the best Italian aircraft of World War II together with the Fiat G-55 Centauro, the Macchi-Castoldi C.205 proved to be extremely effective in action, destroying a large number of Allied bombers and capable of successfully clashing on equal terms with such renowned fighters as the North American P-51D Mustang.Although the C.205 was able to match the best Allied opponents both in speed and maneuverability,it was introduced late during the conflict. Moreover, due to the poor Italian industrial capability of the time, only a small production run was delivered to combat units before the end of the war.Famous C.205 pilots are Italy's highest scoring ace Adriano Visconti and the top scoring C.205 Sergente Maggiore pilota (Sargeant Major pilot) Luigi Gorrini. To date, there's still debate about
Gorrini's score, since Regia Aeronautica preferred crediting units over individual combat achievements.
Gorrini's official aerial combat score is 19 victories, but, according to his memories,he achieved 7 more during his service with Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (A.N.R.), flying a Macchi C.205. These victories did not enter his officiall tally due to political reasons, since the A.N.R. fought by the side of the German Luftwaffe after the Italian September 8th,1943 armistice. These bring his total tally to 26 victories, making him the top scoring Italian fighter ace of WWII.For his combat record with the A.N.R he was awarded twice by the Luftwaffe with the Iron Cross First and Second Class.Luigi Gorrini was also awarded for his actions, after the end of the war, with the highest Italian military decoration, the "Medaglia d'Oro al Valor Militare" (M.O.V.M.,Gold Medal for Military Valour).Last surviving Italian fighter pilot of WWII,he died recently at the age of 97 and this repaint is dedicated to his memory.
Repaint by Manuele Villa/MVG3D, November 2014.

He was the first allied ace of the war, having shot down six german aircraft by 16 september 1939. After the Polish defeat, he fled Poland and joined the RAF, fighting in the battle of Britain. In 1942, he was given command of the Polish Fighting Team (PFT), or so called "Cyrk Skalskiego" (Skalski's Circus) - a Special Flight consisting of fifteen experienced Polish fighter pilot volunteers. They fought in the North African campaign until may 1943. Skalski then became commander of 601 (County of London) Squadron the first Pole to command an RAF Squadron. He then took part in the invasion of Sicily and invasion of Italy. From December 1943 to April 1944 he flew with 131 Polish Fighter Wing. On 4 April 1944 he was appointed commander of No. 133 Polish Fighter Wing flying the Mustang Mk III. Stanislaw Skalski was the most successful Polish ace of WW II, with a record of 22 confirmed victories, 1 probable, and 1 damaged enemy aircraft. Three times he was awarded the British DFC, and he received many other medals. After the war he returned to Poland in 1947 and joined the Air Force of the Polish Army. In 1948 however he was arrested by the communist regime under the false charge of espionage. Sentenced to death, he spent three years awaiting the execution, after which his sentence was changed to life imprisonment in Wronki Prison. After the end of Stalinism in Poland, in 1956 he was released, rehabilitated, and allowed to join the military. He served at various posts in the Headquarters of the Polish Air Forces. Stanislaw Skalski died in Warsaw on 12 November 2004. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the warbirdsim paintkit.
