File Description:
This is a repaint only, for the payware Vertigo Studios Stearman Vol.1 set. This repaint depicts the restored Stearman PT-17 N38940, owned/operated by Paul Bennett, based at Priory Farm, Norfolk, England. The aircraft was manufactured as USAAF 41-8263, and from 1941 until February 1944 the aircraft was used continually, despite being involved in 4 separate training accidents, with a 5th accident taking it out of service althogether. The remains of the aircraft were restored, with the aircraft first flying again in 1977, and later, sold to Paul Bennett in 1992, the aircraft was restored again, to factory-original award-winning condition and finished in the same all-silver color scheme it would have had in 1944. The contrast between the metal and fabric surfaces on this aircraft is period-authentic, as although the fabric surfaces were coated in silver dope, the metal panels were anodized and left bare. Two versions of the repaint are included, with one featuring the temporary 445th Bomb Group tail markings the aircraft sported in 2006.

File Description:
This is a repaint only, for the payware Vertigo Studios Stearman Vol.1 set. This repaint depicts the restored Stearman PT-17 N59293, owned/operated by Andrew and Mike Porter, based at Spring Lake, New Jersey. The aircraft was manufactured as USAAF 41-25714 and was used continually from June 1942 until June 1945. During WWII the aircraft had multiple assignments, one of which included Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas, home of the WASP (Women's Airforce Service Pilots), where it was based from February 1943 until August 1944. Sold surplus after the war, the aircraft was used as a crop duster in New Mexico all the way until 1981. Starting in 2006, the aircraft was restored to factory-original award-winning condition, and painted in the same markings it wore while stationed at Avenger Field, flying as a tribute to all of the WASP pilots. (In one of the aircraft's other WWII training assignments, Donald Strait flew this aircraft during flight training and would go on to become a double-ace flying P-51's with the 361st Fighter Squadron).

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47 #36 of the French Navy (Aeronavale). Originally c/n9798 42-23936 it flew with the USAAF in North Africa and later in the ETO. It took part in D-Day, Market Garden and Operation Varsity, dropping parachutists. After WW2 it went to Ceskoslovenske Aeroline as OK-WDU and between 1958 and 1983 with the French navy as #36. It later went to Stellair and Transvalair in France as F-GEOM, before going to the UK as G-OFON with Classic Airways and later Air Atlantique. After a stint with South Coast Airways, it went to the Aviodrome in the Netherlands in 2006, where unfortunately it was left outside without protection. When the Aviodrome went bankrupt it went to Classic Wings, who are currently restoring it for static display in the Museum in Overloon. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang."

| PAN AM Boeing 747-SP (quadro-package) |
|
File Description:
It was around christmas of 2006 when Corey Ford offered us a beautiful POSKY PAN AM quadro-package for the Boeing 747SP. And it was just recently that Michael Verlin released a nice PAN AM combo for the POSKY-747-121. Thank you folks! Now during the last weeks myself was working on a variaty of PAN AM liveries for the CLS 747-200. Of course you can find them all here at avsim. My biggest concern was to make them look as real as possible (e.g. the exact PA-Pantone-660-blue) and minor little details. But - CLS is payware... Then a good friend of mine had the idea to transform those liveries to the POSKY-747SP, so that the whole fleet would look the same when using them as AI-traffic ;-) It was a pretty tough task due to a different bmp-scale but finally it worked out. So here are the results! I hope, you like what you see. And again: Enjoy THE airline of all airlines - PAN AM! Regards, Matthias Goedeke ("Tildant")

| Carp CYRP in Ontario Canada (updated October 2011) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This version further updates the post of 2006 and the 2009 update with more bespoke buildings for the west GA apron plus the revised fuelling area, and corrected surroundings with large forested areas and a modified airfield grass shape. This is a stand-alone version and does not require you to have downloaded and installed the previous posts; this REPLACES those versions. Carp airfield is fifteen miles west of Ottawa and two miles south of the town of Carp. There are two runways, 10/28 which is asphalt and almost 4,000 feet long and 100 feet wide, and 04/22 which is gravel and 2,000 feet long. The airfield has a fairly large population of general aviation residents and is slowly expanding under new ownership. This version models the large hangar beside the terminal, the "Touch'n Go" aviation warehouse that has opened more recently, and the ramshackle collection of hangars and sheds that make up Westair, the maintenance facility. The nearby pagoda-roof flight school building has in fact now been demolished, but I like it too much to do that, at least until something else has been built on that space.

A GMG Airlines Bombardier Dash 8 In February 2008 the airline added a leased Boeing 747-300 to the fleet starting wide-body operations, this proved to be a White Elephant in an era which saw Global economic problems and an unprecedented peak in oil prices, thus causing a substantial loss to the carrier, the 747 was eventually phased out after just five months of service. On 17 June 2009, the largest conglomerate of Bangladesh, BEXIMCO took a 50% stake in the airline, re-branding it and raising service standards to a higher level. This folder contains a repaint for the Ryan ST-A by A1R Design Bureau. It shows Ryan ST-M ZK-ABC. After a 33 year restororation, Ryan STM-S2 ZK-ABC, serial number 492, nicknamed 'Charlie', took to the air over Hamilton back on 16 September 2013 with restorer and owner Noel Kruse at the controls.
Charlie served with the Netherlands East Indies Naval Air Service in Java in 1941, as S-56, and was evacuated to Australia when Japanese forces occupied the island. From 1942 to 1945 Charlie served with the Royal Australian Air Force as A50-29. Demobilised in 1946 Charlie flew with a number of Aero Clubs and private owners as VH-AHC, until he was 'retired' in 1977. In 1980 Charlie was found in a hay shed in Jerilderie NSW by Noel Kruse who started the long process of returning Charlie to flight. In 2006 Charlie and Noel moved to live in New Zealand and on 16 September 2013, 36 years since he last flew and 33 years since Noel found him, Charlie took to the air again as a genuine 'Warbird' with the New Zealand registration ZK-ABC.
