This package contains an upgrade to the Legacy.air and aircraft.config file. Requires either Legacy4.zip or Legacy5.zip. Upgrade includes an increase in engine performance as well as adjustment to ground handling. This is the product of further tinkering by myself as well as suggestions by other helpfull users. Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 Flogger (Part 1). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model and texture package for this classic (and still-serving) Russian multi-role fighter. The MiG-23, with just over 5,000 built, was the Soviet/Russian first production of a true multi-role aircraft with a beyond-visual-range air superiority role as its primary function. The aircraft was arguably the direct counterpart of the F-4 Phantom, although it carried about half of the ordnance load. Nevertheless, in capable hands and late versions, the Flogger has been and is a very potent adversary; having served in multiple conflicts in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The MiG-23 entered service in 1970, was eventually operated by 43 countries, and is still in service in 14 of them. An original 8-LOD model brings this aircraft to the flightsim world. This package contains the MiG-23S, MiG-23M, and MiG-23MS; with 14 models and 58 repaints. Original aircraft model, afterburner effects, flight dynamics, and textures by Michael Pearson. Chance-Vought F-8 Crusader (Part 1). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this classic aircraft of modern military history.
This is an original 8-LOD model, with many animations and features thanks to a growing confidence in XML-coding and making FSDS work for me instead of the other way around.
Nicknamed "The Last Gunfighter", this aircraft was the last production aircraft for the US Navy and Marine Corps which used guns as primary armament, and was in service at the twilight of this age, as well as the dawn of the missile age. Like all combat-experience aircraft, it had a relatively short life during its operational use (only about twenty years or so as a fighter), but was used a little longer as a recce aircraft; and beyond that in export service to France and the Philippines. The Crusader was used extensively in combat operations in Vietnam, played a crucial role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and gave the newer F-4 Phantoms a fair run for their money in terms of air combat capability during this time.
This is part one of this model series, covering the F-8A, F-8B, and F-8C base models; with a total of 16 model options and a staggering 65 individual squadron paints. I am fairly confident that if any operational squadron of the USN and USMC used this aircraft from the late 50s to the late 60s, it is covered here at some time frame. Subsequent releases will include the later USN/USMC models, as well as the French and Philippine exports. Extensive credits and instructions are in the documentation. Textures only for the 23 Tornado GR.1s of the Royal Air Force allocated to the Tactical Weapons Conversion Unit (TWCU) based at RAF Honington circa 1990. The aircraft are in the grey/green camo scheme in which they were delivered with 'weathering' effects. The fine AI Tornado GR.1 model by Fernando Martinez is required.
