Nenana Municipal Airport PANN in Alaska Download

Nenana is a village on the river of the same name around 40 miles west of Fairbanks, which is the second largest urban area in Alaska after Anchorage. Nenana, as a result of this proximity, is served by road and railway and unlike other Alaskan villages is not reliant on air cargo for necessities. The current population is just under 400, which is way down from its peak of 5,000 in the 1920's when gold was being mined and the railroad being built. Nenana's main claim to fame is as the starting point for the 1925 mushing delivery to Nome of the serum to combat an outbreak of diphtheria. Any Nenana Municipal Airport history is difficult to find, even the date of construction. It has two runways 3L-21R and 3R-21L, the first being asphalt and just under 5,000 feet with PAPI at both ends, the second grass and 1,800 feet. Both are lit. It also has a further water runway similarly aligned and 3,000 feet long. Maintenance is available and there is also fuel at the end of the northern apron, close to the crashed and stripped DC4 that sits among other unwanted items that are too large to make it worth the cost of moving them off the site. There are no regular scheduled flights to the airport, with air taxi or owner operated being in the majority. The scenery, in addition to the terrain, town, bridges, and airport items also modifies the terrain in an area further south where FS9 depicted as a city an Air Force base that is mainly concerned with radar and communications and in fact has very few buildings. The AI includes some Beavers on floats that were used in previous BC scenery with the kind permission of FSAddon. As I have already posted them I have not included them again here. The float plane AI uses the same radio frequency as the land based planes, but they fly to PANX and not to PANN as FS9 has problems with getting floats and wheels separated. Or maybe I just haven't worked out how to cope with FS9. A note here about my scenery making. There will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes, plus I expect to move on from FS9 at some point during next year.

Somerset Airport (KSMQ), NJ Download

File Description:
Located 03 miles N of Somerville, New Jersey on 210 acres of land, Somerset is a public airport with one asphalt and two grass runways, the longest of which is 2733' in length. The turf runways have no hard surfaces and you will be landing on terrain so have your mesh set as high as possible - both runways are still selectable in the ATC window for landing/takeoff announcements. AI aircraft will not use them. The helipad is a start location in front of the main terminal if a parking location is not wanted to begin helicopter flights. Parking is divvied up into three categories - GA_SMALL spots will accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 40 feet. GA_MEDIUM spots will accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet. GA_LARGE spots are named to identify locations suitable for starting in a glider if you wish to do so. They can also accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet. In addition to tie downs, there are 13 hangars open for parking in various locations - they can be identified by GA_DOCK. Only the N Parking hangar can accommodate aircraft with wingspans no greater than 60 feet - all other hangers are suitable only for aircraft with wingspans no greater than 40 feet. Several of the hangars have attendants - look beside the doors for the NAV2 frequency to set for opening them. AI aircraft will only spawn on the north tarmac/hangars (largely to prevent AI traffic crossing the runway on taxi). All objects and static aircraft in the immediate vicinity of parking and taxiways have collision disabled. If your aircraft has a wingspan greater than 40 feet it is NOT recommended that you taxi down the middle taxiway leading to the main tarmac from N Parking as you will not clear the hangars - go either via the NW taxiway past the grass tie downs (NW Parking) or around East to the next taxi way on the other side of the east hangars (E Parking) which has more wing clearance. Fuel is available on both tarmacs north and south of the runway by stopping on the asphalt in front of the tanks/pump. Scenery constructed with use of satellite images/streetview/aerial photos - the author has not been there in person. This scenery is meant to be used in conjunction with MegaScenery Earth New York 005. It is not required, but apron use is minimized to allow satellite scenery to show through as much as possible, and objects are placed based on the MSE textures - lack of it may make scenery look out of place.

PAMR (Merrill Field, Anchorage), 5HO (Hope), 9Z9 (Lawing) - Alaska, USA Download

This stand-alone combined V2 version of Merrill Field 2016 includes: windsocks, a parked Fedex 727 that was recently donated to the University of Alaska, some missing taxiway lights, and small corrections to the apron layout. It also includes Hope 5HO and Lawing 9Z9. The 2016 version of Merrill Field PAMR dealt with a spectacular malfunction reported by one recent downloader; see the two screenshots. Merrill Field is in Anchorage Alaska, between Anchorage International to the southwest and and Elmendorf Air Force Base to the north. It caters for general aviation and is the land equivalent of the Lake Hood float plane base, with fuel and numerous maintenance facilities, and several hundred parking spots for small planes. There are three runways, and the longest is 4,000 feet of 100 feet wide asphalt, the second 2,635 feet of asphalt 75 feet wide, and the third 2,000 feet of 60 feet wide gravel. The first two have runway lights. It is a controlled airfield with a relatively new control tower to cater for the numerous flights and to coordinate with Elmensdorf and Anchorage International, the latter also controlling flights from Lake Hood and the adjacent gravel strip Z41 (see my Lake Hood scenery). The gravel runway at Merrill Field is not connected with active taxiways to the rest of the airfield; this avoids you being ordered to land on it when flying a plane too large to do so. The enclosed layout shows the runways and the taxiways complete with their assigned letters to help you find your way around, but note that this shows the current gravel runway with its wandering magnetic headings, not the ones prevailing when I made Merrill. The signage on the airfield is not total. The main taxiways are signed and each entry to a runway has a runway sign, but intermediate taxiways to or from a runway are not; if you have turned off the runway at the first possible exit you could then whether it is R or T is, I suppose, irrelevant. Try not to turn onto Merrill Field Drive at an intersection, this is a road that runs through the field. There are almost 50 buildings on the field and threequarters of them have been modelled from photographs specifically for this scenery; some of them were modelled from photos that were of not very good quality, but when the photos were taken I wasn't thinking that I would ever model the field. Which explains why there are buildings I had no photos of at all, of any sort of quality.

JELAIR - Maersk Air, Boeing 737-2L9 (OY-MBZ) - version 3 Download

This aircraft (for FSX, with update-patch #2) is a simulated replica of Maersk Air's 'Pocket Rocket' OY-MBZ (a Boeing 737-2L9 a.k.a. 737-200/Advanced) anno 1989. It is designed for a screen-resolution of 1280x1024. Other resolutions have not been tested. It will NOT work correctly in FS2004 (FS9). It has been tested on Windows XP (32bit) and Windows 7 (64bit) only. It is designed to be as realistic as possible, and flight-experience from the real aircraft, as well as large amounts of documentation, have been used to get it as accurate as possible. It has a fairly advanced panel with many systems simulated, such as a passenger oxygen system, a cabin pressure system, anti-skid brakes, EPR control of each engine (with the possibility of asymmetric thrust), IVSI with TCAS, Sperry SP177 autopilot with working CWS and level-change button, active yaw-damper, Quality-of-flight index (so you can see how well you operate the aircraft), windshield wiper, custom flight-computer, automatic Vspeeds for takeoff and landing, takeoff trim calculator, master caution system, PAX simulator (if you make a mistake they may die), a JT8D-17 engine with slow spin-up time (do not idle it on approach). It features a relatively realistic random-failures/error simulation which will trigger, or de-trigger, any of a variety of possible failures/errors (from small gauge-errors to large engine-failures or cabin de-compression). The chance of a failure/error is very low (you may never even get one, but they can happen, so stay alert), maybe less than 1 percent chance per 24 hours of flight-time. It features engine-management simulation, so overheating an engine will cause it to fail (now you actually need to pay attention to the EGT during engine-startup, and have your finger ready at the fuel-cutoff switch just in case you need to save the engine from heat-damage). It features sounds recorded from the actual aircraft (OY-MBZ).

KILE, Killeen Texas airport Download

This package covers KILE, Killeen Texas airport. It is a city owned public use airport located 3 miles east of Killeen Texas. It has one runway that is 5,495 x 100 feet. Almost 100 custom objects are included in this package. They include: All hangers and buildings on the airport grounds made from on site photos. Several buildings surrounding the airport grounds. All taxiway and runway signs. All taxiway, runway and approach lighting. ILS antenna, localizer, etc. Fuel tanks and parking T's. Night lighting where appropriate. Currently I am using the default land class instead of photo real because I couldn't find any photo real that suited my needs. I welcome your feedback good or bad. Currently this airport is only for P3D. I may create an FSX version if I have enough requests. I started learning to make 3d objects and airports last year and I am learning something new every day. I hope you enjoy! I plan on improving the night lighting for the runway lights, runway end lights, taxiway lights, etc. to make them more visible from a distance at night. I also want to replace the stock P3D vehicles with my own design and a few other things to come in an updated version down the road.

Instructions:

There are 3 folders in this package; effects, scenery and texture. Create a subfolder under the C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Scenery folder and call this new folder KILE. Place the scenery and texture folders (with their associated contents) under this newly created KILE subfolder. Place only the contents (not the folder) of the effects folder in the P3D effects folder often located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Effects. Now start up P3D. On the menu at the top of the P3D screen click on World > Scenery Library > Add Area. This will bring up the Add Scenery Area dialog box. Click the Browse button and browse to find the newly created KILE folder. It should be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Scenery. Once you select the KILE folder, click the OK button. This will place that folder in the P3D scenery library. You will notice that the library is organized by priority starting at 1. I have my KILE scenery set as #4 priority but I am not sure if it needs to be that high. I did notice during design that sometimes my ground texture at the airport would act strange and I found that by setting KILE to a higher priority, it fixed that. As a last step make sure the checkbox to enable the scenery is checked and click OK. You should now have the new KILE scenery available to use.

Boeing 787-942 VIP-BBJ Download

Boeing 787-942 Boeing Business Jet (VIP), AKA "DreamJet", is the Corporate version of this aircraft, modified for individual client specs. The range is extended beyond the normal 787-9 due to additional fuel tanks, a lot less payload weight, and more powerful and efficient engines. The Cabin Pressure is decreased to 6,000 ft, allowing for higher Flight Levels than normal. The tail number on this model can be changed to match the user's preference, since it is not apparent on the exterior (No Airline Call used on Private Aircraft). This is a huge aircraft and normally seats about 300 passengers, but there are only 48 (including Pilots/Attendants) on this plane. A lot of space remains for luxuries that are well beyond any Business Jet of any kind other than the 747 or A380. Some of these luxuries include automated beds that are hidden in the floorboard and activated by the attendants when requested, and each of these includes a privacy barrier. There is one Large Screen TV with stereo surround sound with theater seating in the fore section, and separate small screen monitors located at every assigned seat (including flight data relay of all positioning and aircraft data viewable). The kitchen is fully equipped with 935 lbs of various food and drinks, with one attendant being a Master Chef. There is a automated Dance Floor that can be activated in the theater area, after the seating chairs are automatically stored below deck. The crew also experiences luxury as the pilots have a twin-bed sleeping area with a private kitchen (2 sleep while 2 fly), as do the attendants (fore and aft upper deck) with twin beds and private kitchens. The aircraft is also more luxurious in that it has 6.000 ft of pressure continuous to 47,000 ft, and has a very low interior noise level. There are also many added safety features that provide for survival in the event of a mishap, making it possible to survive a water crash for several days through the use of 6 inflatable skiff-rafts with engines, radios, and supplies. All attendants are trained and certified Registered Nurses, and they have 25 lbs of medications and supplies stored in the aft. Some of these features add to the empty weight, so the MTOW is the same as a normal aircraft of this design for commercial use (the gear are also modified for these accommodations). The Boeing MD-11F aircraft, N604FE, named "Hollis" is based out of Memphis, TN and can fly both Domestic and International Routes. The MD-11F (53 built) are the Freight transport aircraft version and were the second variant on offer at launch in 1986, and was the last and longest (1988-2000) manufactured version. 22 MD-11F's were delivered between 1991 and 2001 to FedEx. According to Flight Aware, she flies mainly domestic routes daily. The aircraft is almost identical to the DC-10F, although BOEING modernized their model with a longer fuselage and more powerful engines, giving her a longer range and higher service ceiling. Most flights are at full payload, and those disclude the center long-range fuel tanks, and involve flights ranging between 2,000 and 4,500 nm. I've been dealing with several versions of this aircraft for many years, actually since the first offered on CompuServe for FS98 in the '90s, and through time have found many aerodynamic details that were required in order to make her fly realistically. The Internet slowly added the details I needed, and then came the testing. Needless to say, I've flown many versions, including this one, for way too many hours, and added and corrected things along the way. This version is the best I've ever done, and I've worked on her for about a year before this upload. Everything is aerodynamically correct, and the engines (and their placement) are beyond anything ever presented by anyone with anything like this previously. I even fixed the gear to be 100% authentic in placement and use. I tried to fix the lights, but the textures are from FS2004, so I did the best I could. I chose this aircraft because it is actually in service today, and because the painter did a great job in making her look authentic. She now flies in FSX just as she does in reality, but you are better advised to study this on your own, rather than take my word. Aircraft ratings by manufacturers are based on simple standards, and very conservative. FSX is a virtual “WIND TUNNEL” when realistic aerodynamics are employed, so we can see what aircraft are capable of if we do it all right. Sorry to say, no one ever builds a free aircraft for upload with the correct engine/aerodynamics employed. In fact, I don't think anyone, other than myself, has ever put that much effort into it. Cyprus: Airfields plus landmarks and land class for all of Cyprus and AI Download

File Description:
Cyprus, an island in the eastern Mediterranean. Without the benefit of Ultimate Terrain, which does not exist for Cyprus, the land class provided by FS9 stands out as hopelessly inadequate. I have added the extensive farmland and the larger towns and villages, plus the major roads. Four completely new airfields are included here, three in the north and one in the south. Ercan LCEN is in the north and functions as the airport for all of the north. It was recently closed for two years while a new terminal was built and the runway updated and an apron extended etc, and during that time Gecitkale LCGK functioned (barely) as the airport for the north. Gecitkale is now hardly used at all. The third northern airfield is Ilker Karter LCIK and this functions as the HQ base of the Turkish Army Corp in northern Cyprus. The last of the new airfields is Kingsfield LCRE, which is in the Sovereign Base area to the east of Larnaca and is now used for recreational purposes. Ercan is now undergoing further expansion with a new runway and a new terminal building and apron, so this scenery is for the period between 2010 to 2015. My set up of Cyprus already included a payware Larnaca by Aerosoft (now only 12 euros) plus a freeware Paphos, Nicosia, and Akrotiri; that was my starting point. Larnaca has been the major airport for Cyprus since the mid 1970's, with a huge tourist trade that peaks in the summer but which is year long (almost a million Brits visit every year, let alone the other nationalities). I have adapted this (gate sizes etc) to allow parking by a multitude of B737's and others. Nicosia is freeware (posted in 2010) and I have included modifications to reflect its now total disuse. Paphos is at the far western end of the island and freeware, and I have modified this to allow larger and military ai aircraft to function properly; the poster improved his first version to better cater for ai but I was unaware of this and I have stayed with my modifications. Akrotiri is freeware and includes a lot of library object input from MAIW. I have modified the parking somewhat and added further residential areas and munitions storage. The AI is based upon recorded take offs and landings in April, with some further additions in later months. At Ercan the visible gate numbers on the apron are as per real life, but the numbers within FS9 reflect the fact that planes are directed to gates at the centre of the terminal building and not at the far ends. Follow the pink line and obey ATC when it says taxi to gate number 2 even if it is visibly numbered 4.

Qantas Consolidated PBY-5 5 paints Download

Five repaints for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of PBY-5's operated by Qantas on the 'Double Sunrise Service' between Western Australia and Ceylon between 1943 and 1945. In 1943, Royal Australian Air Force personnel were seconded to operate Catalinas under the banner of Qantas. The plan called for flights between Perth, Western Australia, and RAF Base Koggala in southern Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). The flights were the longest non-stop air route of any airline, over 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km) across the Indian Ocean. Navigating without the aid of radio, the crews relied solely on rudimentary navigation by compass and stars during the trip. Only Catalinas had that kind of range, so five PBY-5 flying boats were converted to make them suitable for the trip. They received camouflage paint, with a RAAF roundel on the fuselage, but also a civilian registration, since they were officialy operated by Qantas, and they were named after the stars they would be using for navigation: Vega Star (G-AGFL/FP221 - tail code 1) Altair Star (G-AGFM/FP244 - tail code 2) Rigel Star (G-AGID/JX575 - tail code 3) Antares Star (G-AGIE/JX577 - tail code 4) Spica Star (G-AGKS/JX287 - tail code 5) Taking between 27 and 33 hours, with departure timed so that the flight crossed Japanese occupied territory during darkness, the crews would observe the sunrise twice, which led to the service being known as "The Double Sunrise". The flight route flown was along the coast from Perth to Exmouth then setting out towards Cocos (Keeling) Island or Christmas Island (though neither was actually sighted during the flight) and onto Kogalla, a journey of approximately 3,580 nautical miles (6,630 km). After the success of the initial flights, it was decided to run a weekly service, with some services flying over Rottnest Island and then taking a direct line to Kogalla. As part of the Australia-England air route there was a surface component from Kogalla to Karachi that added considerable time to the service. This was later replaced by the Double Sunrise service, with Karachi to England flown by BOAC. Air crews would change in Kogalla taking the next plane in either direction minimising the time taken to complete the journey. Though stripped of all non-essential equipment, including de-icing equipment and insulation, the average takeoff weight was 15,900 to 16,000 kg; this included 9,040 liters of fuel, which gave the Catalina a range of 3,600 nautical miles (6,700 km). The service made 271 crossings, delivered over 4,500 kg of mail and carried 860 passengers, including among them British MP Edith Summerskill and the journalist Keith Murdoch. 'The Secret Order of The Double Sunrise' was an illustrated certificate given to passengers aboard the flying boats of the Australia-England air link, to attest they had been airborne for more than 24 hours.
