File Description:
This is a repaint of one of the 2 aircraft used in the film "The High and The Mighty" (John Wayne and Robert Stack - 1954). This aircraft actually flew in this paint around Los Angeles and the bay area of southern California in November of 1953 for in-flight footage, so it's entirely fictional...but the airline was.
The original repaint was by Dave McQueen for Jens B. Kristensen's DC-4/C-54 version 2.0. I have updated it to make it compatable with the Jens' new version 2.1 (DC4_v21.zip) to use the DC-4-1009 airfile. Load your plane with 3050 gallons of fuel and balance out passengers and cargo to total 73,000 lbs. and you can duplicate flight #420 in the film! If you wish to shut down engine #1 and dump 200 gallons of fuel from the left wing and see if you can still get to San Fransico from Honolulu, that's up to you..but it is a challenge. Kimmirut is a village of some 400 folks at the southern end of the southwest-facing coast of Baffin Island, 75 miles southwest of Iqaluit. It is on the northern side of the Hudson Strait between Baffin Island and Quebec, opposite Kangiqsujuaq on the Quebec shore. The airfield is served by two flights per week, one on Monday and another on Friday, only half fueled to be able to use the 1,899' of gravel 75' wide runway. The terminal building is small and there is a garage building for airport maintenance vehicles (snow clearing). There are some nearby buildings that I have included. The village is "represented" (not "modeled") with approximately the right shape and road layout. Take enough fuel so that you can leave again, as fuel is no longer for sale here. The Cape Dyer bgls are to make a small correction, it is explained in the text. I will not be posting new sceneries in the future and this is the last one for Avsim; it completes Baffin Island.

| Yamamoto Shootdown by Lockheed P-38G with AI Aircraft and Scenery |

File Description:
Re-Upload. This package provides a new P-38G modified specifically for recreating the mission that resulted in the interception and shootdown of Admiral Yamamoto over Bougainville Island in 1943 in accord with available documentation (links provided). The panel, mixture controls, capacity of the external tanks and the flight dynamics have been tailored to provide accurate power settings and performance to closely match the historical flight. Included are detailed documentation of the new aircraft, and the P-38 fuel settings used by the Army Air Corps before Charles Lindbergh suggested a "correction" in 1944 which greatly improved cruise fuel efficiency. To add to the realism, also included are AI aircraft (Zeros, Bettys, SBDs and C-47s) from CFS2.
New airports, scenery, and extensive scenario documentation to help the simulator pilot successfully "intercept" and "shoot down" the Admiral's Mitsubishi G4M 'Betty' are provided by experienced real world fighter pilot and Adversary Instructor Jim Daigneau, who also provided overall technical support and mission testing.
David C. Copley's outstanding P-38G has been modified as described above and is included, with his permission.

This is Ray Smith's FSX file. Ray has given me permission to modify his file for P3Dv4 and is an accurate and up-to-date version of Baiyun Intl Airport. The new Terminal 2 is now added and when opened it will be home to China Southern Airlines as well as other SkyTeam member airlines such as China Eastern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Air France and Korean Airlines. The new runway 2R/20L added with ILS and transitions included for it. All runways now have their correct numbers and the approaches corrected for them. Assigned parking as per their website with extra parking including the overnight aprons plus gates added for the A380 The FedEx ramp and buildings updated. The STAG maintenance ramp and buildings also included. The GA ramp now moved to the south of the airport. Taxiways and taxi signs updated to the latest charts. Xtra fuel trucks, support vehicle roads rebuilt, fuel tank farm and many other scenery objects and improvements included for a more realistic look.

This Pack is only to update my aircraft "Airbus A318 FD Special Version V2" (pa318fd_v2_299527.zip) with a new ehanced panel that I have created with the Airbus A321.
This new panel version (v3.05) provides many new features to the version V2 of the aircraft: New fuel system management gauge like the real Airbus, full manual engines startup procedure, with all new BLEED circuit (with new Bleed page on ECAM with animations), all fuel valves, pumps, crossfeed work. All bleed valves work. Engines failure procedure management, ehanded Navigation display with TCAS on ARC or NAV mode, gps Approach procedure sheme on the navigation display, corrected electrical circuit, and many other features (too long to describe here).
There is a user manual in English and in French. Very important to read it (for the manual engines startup procedure). You must have the orignal aircraft installed on your computer (Aribus A318 FD Special version V2) because this pack is only an update. Please, read the pdf installation file (English and French version) for full information on installing this update.

A complete aircraft model, photoreal inside and outside, fully functional 2D panel and Dynamic VC, custom gauges and custom soundsuite, countless XML programmed goodies including droppable fuel tanks, automatic wing slats operation depending on speed and attitude, dynamic engine damage and flame-out simulation, authentic start-up procedure including fuel regulation and power cart, working guns with tracer bullets and muzzle flash effects, working ( or not working.... ) hydraulics system, parked mode with wheel chocks, fluttering RBF flags, in- and outlet covers, pilot flightgear on wing, etc., and so on.

Yangon International Airport "MINGALADON" in Burma, Myanmar, will be able to accommodate bigger aircrafts and handle more passengers when work on extending its runway and upgrading its facilities is completed. The completion of the runway extension will enable Boeing 747 and Airbus 380 airplanes to use the airport. The work on extending the runway from 8100 feet to 11,200 feet began October 2004. FPS-friendly version 3.0 with already extended runway, taxiways and new taxisigns. First of all we corrected the airport location to the real one. With Myanmar Air Force area, Helipads and even more parkings for civilian airplanes. This scenery was produced based on pictures of satellites. Many Thanks go to the teams of HOUSE-RP in Burma, FSX Planner, SceneGenX, SBuilder X, Open Ports Scanner, AFXBgDownloader, FSUIPC and Google Earth. Summer 2018 multi-week flightplans for Caterpillar's corporate jets, based out of Peoria, Illinois. New research done by the Alpha India Group has determined that multi-week AI flightplans are possible in FSX and P3D. This allows a wide variety of destinations to be included in corporate and charter flightplans. For more information on multi-week flightplans, please visit the Alpha India Group forums, specifically the AIG Announcements section. Please install with AIG Traffic Tools (link to that is included in the README) or the latest release of AI Flight Planner. This flightplan is for FSX and P3D only.
