USAF Douglas DB-26 B and C Drone Launch Invaders

File Description:
Three texture sets for two USAF drone launching B-26 Invaders, of the 4750th Drone Squadron, Vincent AFB (later Yuma MCAS after 1958), Yuma, AZ and the 4756th Drone Squadron, Tyndall AFB, FL in the late Fifties and Early Sixties. This set of repaint textures for the SOH A-26 Invader, depicting a set of DB-26 drone launching aircraft of the USAF in the late Fifties and early Sixties. The aircraft were unarmed and had pylons installed under both wings for carrying and launching Ryan Firebee drones. Sadly, the model doesn't have the drones. I also want to thank Mr. Jim Brink, who was the commanding officer of the 4750th Drone Squadron when they started with the DB-26's, for his pictures and help in making these repaints accurate. Also, for putting me in touch with Mr. John Nitka, who has researched Firebee launch operations for fifteen years and has collected a treasure trove of information (his father worked on the DB-26's at Vincent AFB and Tyndall AFB). It was he who shared the squadron emblems with me and provided several pictures without which I could not have completed these repaints, nor the next few I intend to do. My sincere and grateful thanks to both of them. It is to Jim Brink, and John Nitka's Dad, that I dedicate these repaints as well as to all who maintained or flew them.

FS2004 B-29's of the 509th CG addon pack. Superfortresses of the 509th Composite Group were operating the first nuclear bombs in the history of mankind. Package contains one specific 3D model of the Silverplate builds, used by the 509th, built at Martin-Omaha; a specific flight model, seven various liveries of Enola Gay, Bockscar, The Great Artiste and Straight Flush. Package does NOT contain gauges, 3D effect files, panel and sounds. Those are included/aliased in/to the base package of Superfortress 'Mania'. 'B29B_910.zip' is required.

Fuerza Aerea Venezolana North American B-25J Mitchell, FAV-6A40

File Description:
Fuerza Aerea Venezolana N.A.B-25J-25 Mitchell FAV-6A40 of the Escuadrón de Bombardeo No.40. A first batch of 3 planes were taked in charge the 08/28/47 followed by 12 more planes in 1949. Others 11 planes were received between 1950-1952. A last batch was taked in charge by 1963 with 11 planes of the RCAF. The planes were operated in actions with the "Porteñazo" and "Carupanazo" by 1960 and also utilized in the surveillance missions over The Monjes islands. This planes were operated from the Base Aérea Tte. Vicente Landaeta Gil, Barquisimeto,Edo.Lara and retired in 1973 after requipment with Rockwell OV-10E Broncos. Model by the MAAM team, Bill Ranbow, Jan Visser, Fred Banting and Rob Young. Repainted by Daniel Nole. In order to use these textures, you must already have the MAAM-SIM payware B-25J 'Briefing Time' installed in your FS2004 aircraft folder.

B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270

File Description:
B25-B Mitchell Doolittle's Raiders A/C No. 40-2270, April 18, 1942. Painted over The B24 Guy's B25 Mitchell Overhaul Model. This was mission plane #2. Pilot: Lt. Travis Hoover, Co-Pilot: Lt. William N. Fitzhugh, Navigator: Lt. Carl R. Wildner, Bombardier: Lt. Richard E. Miller, Flight Engineer/Gunner: Sgt. Douglas V. Radney. The bomb group attacked targets in the Tokyo area. The North American B-25B was not designed or intended for aircraft carrier use, but there they were, sixteen highly modified bombers sitting on the deck of the USS Hornet (CV-8). They were modified to carry bombs to Tokyo. The B-25s are launched from their maximum range, and flew over Tokyo, bombing several installations. The bombs did little damage, but managed to damage the Japanese carrier Ryuho while it is in drydock. Many of the planes then head to wherever they can make it, since the fuel will be empty before they reach a friendly airbase. All of the B-25 bombers are forced to bail out or crash land except one. Eleven crews are forced to bail out over China, 3 crash land, and the last landed safely at Vladivostok. The crew that landed in Russia was interned, along with the plane, for a while. The crews were all volunteer, and had no carrier experience, yet all sixteen of the bombers were successful on take-off. Although little physical damage was inflicted on Japan, that day, the Japanese populace was demoralized, as suddenly, the war was brought to their homeland. Texture, and Damage Files included. FS2004 texture sets only of the excellent Wings Of Power B-17. A set of 2 historic aircraft from the 385th Bomb Group based in Great Ashfield, UK with the names "Ole Doodle Bug" and "Lil’ Audrey". These paints were made specifically to be used as AI traffic for Cees Donkers airfield of the 385th.
