File Description:
The airport was officially opened as a Royal Thai Air Force base
on March 27, 1914, although it had been in use earlier.
Commercial service to Don Mueang began in 1924.
The first commercial flight was an arrival by KLM.
The airfield was used by the Japanese during World War II,
and was bombed and strafed by Allied aircraft on several occasions.
During the Vietnam War, Don Muang Royal Thai Air Force Base was a
major command and logistics hub of the United States Air Force.

Lockheed L-1049G-82-153 (c/n 4679) 'VH-EAO' belonging to Qantas. VH-EAO was delivered to Qantas on 28 October 1957. Its delivery flight was the first non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft from Honolulu to Sydney. Based on original textures by Manfred Jahn, this texture set requires the great L-1049G Super Constellation package available in the Avsim file library (l1049g.zip). Installation instructions are included.

TWA Lockheed 1049G-82 Super Constellation N7102C"Star of Windsor"(C/N 4583).
The "G" model was introduced in service by Northwest in JUly 1954; TWA take
in charge 28 (the first operator in number of the type)and the planes were
called "Super G".The type was operated for Intercontinental services but
for transatalntic flights, like for example ,New York-Paris,a stop was need
(Usually Gander Intl.or Shannon).

Lockheed P-3C Orion of the U.S. Navy (VP-10 "Red Lancers"), NAS Brunswick; utilizing Mike Stone's P-3C aircraft; and painted in 16-bit textures. This is a delight to fly, and is polygon-low enough to work as an AI aircraft. Textures only, requires base pack available here on AVSIM or Mike Stone's website (www.pmstone.com). Bonus files include tail spelling fixes for two of my C-130s.

Delivered in 19 April 1955 to the company which had just been re-created, this plane made the inaugural Dusseldorf-Hamburg-New York flight on 8 June 1955. Based on original textures by Manfred Jahn, this texture set requires the great L-1049G Super Constellation package available in the Avsim file library (l1049g.zip). The SAR (Search and Rescue Air) of the Spanish Air Force (FAE), the Fokker 27 is a long-range aircraft (1000 nautical miles range) and up to 11 hours of battery life maximum, depending on the flight profile. This unit soon moved to Gando Air Base in Gran Canaria and depending on various provisions was changing its name to the present denomination of 802 Squadron Air Force and RCC Canarias.
