File Description:
This is St Paul Island airport, plus the town and the harbour which has featured alongside Dutch Harbor in the tv series Deadliest Catch.
St Paul is in the Pribilof group of five islands around 250 miles north of Dutch Harbour. The town has a population of less than 600, so a lot smaller than Dutch Harbour and with only one processing plant, Trident.
The Ai includes a PenAir flight, a Coast Guard C-130, and Coast Guard helicopters; sea AI includes a fishing boat and a Coast Guard cutter. The Coast Guard C-130 and helicopter flights are to Dutch Harbor, so both sceneries are required to make it work as it should. The airport has 6,500 feet of 150 feet wide asphalt with 1,000 feet of over-run at each end, aligned 36/18, lit, and with two aprons at the southern end. There is no hangerage except for Coast Guard helicopters. Runway 36 has at its northern end a hill.
In real life the runway slopes up to the north by over 60 feet, but in FS9 it doesn't; hence the change in airport elevation to 80 feet ASL to get the northern end at least partly out of a box canyon. There is fuel available and it is dispensed from a truck, there are no pumps.

File Description:
Mountain Ridge Airstrip is a very short and narrow gravel strip located right on the edge of a
treacherous 1700 foot high cliff, right near the Behm Canal in the Misty Fjords of Alaska. Flying
from this 1200 foot strip is very challenging as there are massive trees on the runway's only
approach end and there's mountains only a mile from the east end. It's only a difficult one way strip here
and if you muck up your approach you'll either find yourself on the cliff face or in the mountains and if
you don't make by nightfall, well then too bad......!

Simmers' Sky MD-11 Alaska Airlines (virtual). I use my own paintkit but base on Simmers' Sky Model. Some textures in this paint are in 32bit format which gives the maximum quality as possible and reflections are included too to improve the quality as well. Very detailed, includes animated gear, flaps and spoilers, antennas, flap canoes and simulated gear bays and specular highlights. Extremely frame rate friendly. A simple Afcad for Hank's Trading Post near Taku Lodge, Alaska. This Afcad was created using the "invisible runway" technique which will allow you to see Hank's Trading Post displayed on your "GoTo Airport" Menu and also in your Map view. I have taken the liberty of adding a Helipad also. The excellent Hank's Trading Post by Michael Carr - "hanks_fs9.zip" - is required. Compiled for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.
