| Castle Kennedy Airport ERAF, Stranraer, Scotland Version 2 |

File Description:
VERSION 2 Castle Kennedy Airport ERAF, Stranraer, Scotland
The original version uploaded on 13 Mar 2011 was out of scale. Sorry my mistake!
If you downloaded it please download this version to overwrite.
Castle Kennedy airfield was RAF 57MU during WWII. Today it is currently used by private flyers. FSX does not have a default AFCAD for this small airport. I have called it ERAF. Afcad prepared using ADE9X. Afcad prepared from Google image and uses generic objects which only approximate the actual. The comms Tower frequency is arbitary, not actual, and has been added to allow for traffic. A traffic file is included for optional use, for flights between ERAF and a default FSX airport nearby, EGOY, West Freugh. To make EGOY available for traffic, I have prepared a new AFCAD for EGOY from the default one with added taxiways (located as per Google map) and I have also added parking.

| US Navy 1943 Livery Grumman Albatross version 2.1 |

Grumman Albatross HU-16 Version 2.1
World War II Livery
Obviously the Albatross is a post war aircraft. Although the original specifications were issued by the Navy in 1944, the Albatross did not enter active service until 1951.
So why did I bother with this repaint? One of my favorite movies is Otto Preminger's 1964 production "In Harm's Way", a great WWII Navy story.
In the movie the Albatross makes a brief appearance as a transport for the central character played by John Wayne. Most people wouldn't notice, but by that time all of the contemporary seaplanes were long retired, so the Albatross was pressed into service. The movie is black and white so I can't verify the paint, but to preserve appearances I chose to use the intermediate blue the Navy used in that period.
So for what it's worth, here's an Albatross done up in the Navy's wartime paint scheme.

| McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II (Version 2) |

Images related to this file:
File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II (Version 2). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and many of the 5,057 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service.
This model set is what I originally envisioned when I undertook the modification of Nick Black's F-4E source files. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file.
This file contains early, middle, and late F-4C base models; as well as the EF-4C Wild Weasel variant and the F-110A Spectre prototype. The five main aircraft variants include a total of 35 loadout options, and a whopping 77 repaints representing these aircraft in service with the USAF (plus ANG and AFRES) and the Spanish Air Force. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for repainters. Of particular note, I have included a large collection of 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing repaints from my hometown Luke AFB from the 1970s. This project properly updates my comprehensive (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation.
This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Original FSDS source and paint kit by Nick Black; FDE by Mike MacIntyre, all model/paint kit modifications and repaints by Michael Pearson.

McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II (Version 2). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and some of the 5,057 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This revised model set is what I originally envisioned when I undertook the modification of Nick Black's F-4E source files. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains early, middle, and late F-4B base models; as well as the QF-4B with its NOLO (No Live Operator) drone configuration. The four main aircraft variants include a total of 27 loadout options, and 68 repaints representing these aircraft in service with the US Navy and United States Marine Corps. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for repainters. While I did not paint every squadron from every cruise or time period, I believe there is a nice spread of representation in this package. This project properly updates my comprehensive (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. | KLBB - Preston Smith Intl. - Lubbock, Texas Version 2.0 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Thank you for downloading this scenery. Lubbock is another one of those little known, neglected airports that populate the
FS world. Avery simple airport, LBB somewhat feels like a little DFW. There is a very DFW-ish main terminal with fewer than
10 gates and plenty of space to grow. The only mainline service is courtesy Southwest, but several RJ's freqent Lubbock
several times per day along with the big freighters. This airport was built from the ground up with excellent detail,
and because of the sparse traffic, frame rates are excellent as well.
Update:
Recently, Lubbock has moved their east-west runway 8/26 roughly 1000 feet to the East so as to eliminate runway incursions
by separation from the north-south runway 17R-35L. Version 2.0 reflects this modificaton. Several taxiways have been removed
or modified, and airport fencing has been altered to reflect the change.
