Boeing B-17G 91st BG (OR-K) "Shirley Jean"

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17 42-107040 Shirley Jean, assigned to the 91st BG in Bassingbourn, UK. It which was a B-17G and was named after the crew chief's two daughters. The nose art was done by Tony Starcer and was taken from Esquire's Vargas Girl Calendar, August 1943. she flew 7 combat sorties with the 324th as DF-D, was transferred to the 323rd on 1 april as OR-K, then came back to the 324th in the latter part of August 1944. This paint shows her when she was flying with the 323rd BS. Shirley Jean survived the war with the 91st with a total of 98 missions during 18 months of combat. Her last mission was on March 8, 1945 which was approximately six weeks before the 91st Group's last mission. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

Chance Vought F4-U Corsair VF-17 #29 Lt Kepford

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A/Aircraft Factory F4-U Corsair, in the paintscheme of White 29, the Aircraft ot Lt Ira Kepford of VF-17 "Jolly Rogers". With 16 confirmed kills at the end of February 1944, Kepford was still the Navy's top ace, a distinction he retained until Alexander Vraciu went wild on June 19. Kepford returned to the States in March of 1944, and was assigned to Fleet Air Command at Alameda, California. In June, he was transferred to VF-84. In December, he was attached to the Staff of Commander Fleet Air, West Coast, where he served the remainder of WWII. In his five months of combat duty, Ira Kepford earned two Navy Crosses, the Gold Star, the Silver Star, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Air Medal, Unit Commendation to VF-17, and the American Defense Service Medal. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

North American T-6 (C-FWPK)

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A North American T-6 Texan/Harvard in the colors of Harvard Mk.4 C-FWPK of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association. Originally manufactured by the Canadian Car and Foundry, Fort William, Ontario, it entered Service with the RCAF on February 29, 1952. It was disposed of on July 30, 1967, and while with the RCAF, it served with 2 FTS Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and No. 4 FTS Penhold, Alberta. Originally disposed of for $1,850, WPK spent several years flying out of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Jim Vernon of Oakville purchased WPK in the early 1970’s and was later flown as the #2 position in a 4-plane Goldilocks Formation for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. In 1978, it was bought by Norm & Kent Beckham and Bob Hewitt, and based out of Woodstock. WPK was purchased by CHAA in 1989. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.
