The Panavia Tornado is a family of twin-engine combat aircraft, which was jointly developed by the West Germany, United Kingdom and Italy. There are three primary versions of the Tornado; the Tornado IDS (Interdictor/Strike) fighter-bomber, the suppression of enemy air defences Tornado ECR (Electronic Combat/Reconnaissance) and the Tornado F.3 (only United Kingdom) a air fefence variant. It is one of the world's most sophisticated and capable interdiction and attack aircraft, with a long range, large payload and high survivability. Developed and built by Panavia, a tri-national consortium consisting of MBB of West Germany, British Aerospace, and Alenia Aeronautica of Italy. The Tornado first flew on August 14, 1974, and saw action with the RAF and AMI (Italian Air Force) in the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm). International co-operation continued after its entry into service within the Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment, a tri-nation training and evaluation unit operating from RAF Cottesmore, England. File Description:
In December 1943, Robert Goebel was assigned as a Replacement Pilot to the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations. He shipped out to North Africa and arrived at Oran, Algeria. He was assigned to the Supermarine Spitfire equipped 31st Fighter Group of the 12th Air Force and was checked out in the Spitfire at Telergma. As he joined the 31st FG at Castel Volturno, Italy on April 1, 1944, the Group had started a transition to the North American P-51B Mustang and its main mission changed from Close Support of front-line troops to Fighter Escort for the heavy bombers of the 15th Air Force. Lt. Goebel was assigned to the 308th Fighter Squadron. Eventually, the 31st FG were equipped with the P-51D-model Mustangs. Captain Goebel flew 61 combat missions from the 31st FG's base at San Severo, Italy including one of the FRANTIC Russian Shuttle missions. He led the 308th FS into combat seven times and the entire 31st FG into battle twice. Captain Goebel, still only 21 years old, rotated home to the USA as a highly decorated fighter ace with 11 aerial victories.

Important VFR point for approaching airport Aquila Preturo and Avezzano city.

Official Douglas DC-6 / C-118 Liftmaster livery of the Italian Government, operated by the Italian Air Force - "Reparto Volo Stato Maggiore" (RVSM) for State Flight from 1962 to 1976 at Ciampino Airport - Rome.
In 1976 the "Reparto Volo Stato Maggiore" become 306th Squadron Flight which flows in the 31st Wing based always on Ciampino Airport.
So since 1976 the DC-6 change livery assuming that of the new 31st Wing (You can dowload it in AVSIM Library).
In 1981 the last Douglas DC-6 was discontinued.
For P3D, you must own the payware PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster base package.
