Some Curved or Angled Approaches, Beirut, Washington Reagan, Lugano and Swiss valleys

File Description:
This little project started from my Air Glaciers package when I noticed how indifferent the AI pilots were to terrain. Intrigued by the work of Jim Vile on his "active approach" series I have experimented with interesting approaches that FS9 has not implemented. Using XML files I created curved approaches for Beirut Runway 21 ILS (inbound flights arc across the city), the visual turn to final for Washington Reagan's Runway 19, the circling approach for runway 19 at Lugano in Switzerland (just an arc in this case) and valley approaches for airports in Switzerland at Sion, Samedan and Locarno. Due to AI limitations in FS9 these have all needed to be created as ILS approaches, even at airports without an ILS. Note that your AFCAD layouts do not need to have ILS added to airports that don't have it. In some cases the approach will be called an ILS by the controller, if you can live with that, you might like these. Note that I've included the source XML for each of the approaches so that you can improve upon them if you wish. Note also that they have been tested with the default Microsoft mesh and an addon mesh might alter the proximity of terrain to aircraft. AI aircraft FDEs will, in some cases, be stretched to (and beyond?) their limits. In the case of Beirut I have included two approaches (BOB NDB and "Wide Arc"), the latter less demanding than the former, in case your AI can't fly the BOD NDB approach. Note that although the approaches are designed for AI, I have built full procedures for Lugano and Sion for the user to fly.

File Description:
Tips and Tricks for FS2004 - Part IV. A little something for everyone in this, the LAST in this series, at least for the foreseeable future. This issue includes a number of tips and recommendations plus a BONUS, a cursor in the shape of an aircraft for you to try. Please unzip to a temporary directory (with folders option checked). Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats by David "Opa" Marshall. I hope you find something of use.

File Description:

MilJet package for Kaufbeuren, Version 2 (Includes minor APT and AC updates)

File Description:
One week ago I issued the Kaufbeuren-V2 airport including some AI-Prop Airplanes. This time the package contains the following AI-MilJets: Messerschmitt ME-262, T-33A T-Bird, F-84F Thunderstreak, F-86F Sabre, F104- Starfighter, F-4E Phantom and the brand new EF2000 Eurofighter. You can monitor the airplanes performing "Touch and Go" in the local pattern of the Kaufbeuren airfield at 15:00 and 16:00 GMT on a 4 hours time period. A few minor airport and prop-aircraft updates have been added also.

Beech Baron 58 panel - NAV/GPS switch in VC and Landing Panel

File Description:
(This update includes files missing from my first one.) This adds a NAV/GPS switch which is missing from the original Standard Beech Baron 58 VC panel. NAV/GPS switch is located next to the audio panel (see picture). Also included is a Landing panel in 2D and slightly higher resolution graphics. Works for SP1, not tested for SP2.
