| Flughjalp (Joint Church Aid) Douglas DC-6 |

In October 1968 the Dutch charter operator Transavia Holland became involved in the relief airlift from Sao Tome to Biafra. Initially only the DC-6 PH-TRA and the DC-6B's PH-TRD and PH-TRL were despatched, followed in November 1968 by DC-6 PH-TRB. Eventually the entire DC-6 fleet served on this operation while for its regular charter operations Transavia started using the Sud-Aviation SE-210 Caravelle jets. In 1969 all DC-6's were sold to Flughjalp and received Icelandic registrations (DC-6 PH-TRA became TF-AAD, DC-6 PH-TRB became TF-AAE). With the exception of TF-AAD and TF-AAE, both featured here, which were both written from use resp. in November 1969 and June 1969 after having sustained damage at the airstrip near Uli, the Sixes kept soldiering on till the Biafran Airlift came to an end in January 1970. | Douglas XC-112A/YC-112A |

File Description:
In order to meet a USAAF requirement for an improved version of the C-54 Skymaster, Douglas proposed in July 1944 a simple development of the C-54E, combining its unpressurised fuselage with 2100 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800 C series engines: the XC-112. Soon this idea was dropped in favour of the stretched and pressurised XC-112A. The XC-112A made its first flight on 15 February 1946 and was in fact the prototype of the civil DC-6. Following the first initial testing the aircraft was delivered on 22 June 1946 to the USAAF, designated YC-112A, where it flew 9 years before starting a 21 years spanning commercial career as a DC-6. | KLM Douglas DC-6 |

File Description:
Having been an operator of the Douglas DC-2, DC-3, DC-4 and DC-5, it seemed only logical that KLM (celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2009) purchased the DC-6 for its long-haul routes. Seemed, because KLM already operated the Lockheed L-049 Constellation, the DC-6's competitor. Nevertheless, Connie and DC-6 marched on together quite well. Enclosed in this package are five repaints of DC-6's during several stages in their life with KLM. The 1957 livery of PH-DPP was an interim-livery (see the 'old fashioned' white lettering and the early-fifties style cowlings). The 1962 livery of PJ-DPI seems to have been an attempt to fit into the new house style of KLM without having to respray the fuselage, as the DC-6 reached the end of its KLM carreer anyway. | Douglas C-54E Cargomaster Ansett-ANA |

File Description:
Featured is a C-54E built for the USAAF which, after having been struck off, was modified to DC-4 standard and sold to Pan American World Airways. In 1958 the aircraft was sold to Japan Air Lines. In March 1965 Ansett-ANA purchased the aircraft for use as "Cargomaster" freighter VH-INM. In 1968 the aircraft was converted to Aviation Traders ATL.98 Carvair (the final conversion) and returned on 19 July 1968 to Ansett-ANA, still as VH-INM. These are textures only. This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured are the C-54A's (modified to DC-4 standard) G-AOFW and G-AREK in the colours of British United Airways in 1961.
In December 1955 Freddie Laker's Air Charter acquired the C-54A G-AOFW 'Jason' for transport work in Germany and trooping flights from Stansted to Cyprus. In 1959 the aircraft was moved from trooping flights to service on the route Southend to Calais flying passengers on one-day trips without a passport till 1 July 1960 when Air Charter was merged into British United. In April 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd started converting G-AOFW to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry aircraft. The first flight as a Carvair took place from Stansted on 11 February 1964. C-54A G-AREK was purchased by British United Airways in August 1960. The aircraft was earmarked to become a Carvair. Conversion started in December 1961. The first flight as a Carvair (all-cargo version) took place from Stansted on 2 November 1962.

| Global Airways Douglas C-54 |

The repaint features Global Airways' N79000, an early production Douglas C-54 (c/n 3058) built at the Douglas factory at Santa Monica, CA, and delivered to the USAAF on February 8, 1943 as 41-37272. In 1946 the Civil Aviation Administration took her over as NC79000. Having been converted to DC-4 standard, she was bought on April 11, 1951 by Eastern Air Lines as N79000 '721'. In May 1955 she was sold and served many users such as Northwest, Transocean and World. In 1960 California Airmotive became the owner of the C-54. During September and October 1960 the C-54 was leased by Global Airways, a company based in Philadelphia, PA, from 1946 to around 1960. (founded by Simon Bolnick and Joseph Raphael; passenger charter operations included fishing and hunting charters to Canada.) In May 1961 the C-54 was sold as D-ADAM to Continentale in Germany. Already in December 1962 Continentale went bankrupt and the aircraft was stored in the open at Hamburg. In July 1963 Aviation Traders (Engineering) Ltd purchased the C-54 for conversion to Carvair car-ferry aircraft. As it turned out, the condition of the C-54 was extremely poor (corrosion on many places on the wing spars) so makeshift repairs were done before the aircraft was ferried to Stansted for its rebuild to Carvair G-ASKN.

This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured is the C-54B (modified to DC-4 standard) G-ANYB in the colours of Air Charter Ltd London and of British United Airways. | Douglas VC-118-DO 'The Independence' |

File Description:
This Douglas VC-118-DO was the personal aircraft of President Harry S. Truman. It was named 'The Independence' after President Truman's home town in Missouri. The aircraft was delivered on 1 July 1947 and served from 4 July 1947 on as a presidential aircraft till 1953 when Gen. Dwight Eisenhower became President of the USA. It seems that the rather special paint job was based on an idea by President Truman himself. 46-0505 served on as a general VIP transport till 1966 when it was donated to the Smithonian Institute for preservation. It is on loan to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.'The Independence' could accommodate for 24 day or 12 sleeper passengers (in the main cabin). It had a luxurious State Room aft of the passenger door. Usually there was a crew of eight. It is featured here in its original tan, blue and metal livery. You will require Jens B. This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured is the C-54A (modified to DC-4 standard) N57670 of Resort Airlines: one repaint representing the aircraft around 1956, the other at the end of its open air storage in 1961. Resort Airlines Inc (of Washington, DC, and Oakland, CA) was a US non-scheduled carrier that specialised in the operation of inclusive holiday tours to the Caribbean and also in military charter flying (Logair). The airline was operative between 1945 and 1960. Its fleet comprised of Curtiss C-46, Lockheed 1049H Super Constellation and Douglas DC-4/C-54 aircraft. Around 1961-62 five C-54s which had been stored at Oakland for some time, ranging from several months to 6 years, were rescued by Aviation Traders (of Southend and Stansted, England) from the scrapdealer's axe and converted to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry and cargo aircraft. N57670, which was active with Resort during 1954-1956 only and had been deteriorating during the open air storage, was one of these lucky birds.

This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. One repaint represents Resort Airlines' C-54A (modified to DC-4 standard) N65142 while on lease to Slick Airways from 1 July 1959 till 30 June 1960 for military charter flying (Logair) for the U.S. Goverment. After having returned to Resort Airlines she was placed in open storage at Oakland, CA. The other repaint represents the same aircraft in her British ferry markings she carried in July 1961. Around 1961-62 five ex-Resort C-54s which had been stored at Oakland for some time, ranging from several months to 6 years, were rescued by Aviation Traders (of Southend and Stansted, England) from the scrapdealer's axe and converted to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry and cargo aircraft. N65142, which was in a very poor condition after her Logair period of minimal maintenance and repeated overloading, as well as the abuse by the elements during the open air storage close to sea water, was one of these lucky birds.
