ALS-Sim SU-27SKM Flanker - (B_RNLAF) Package Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This package contains a "just for the fun of it" fictional set of liveries for the Flanker B in RNLAF colors. What if the Royal Netherlands Air Force could not temporarely afford a follow up for the aging F-16AM/BM due to the credit-crisis. Countries with a debt to the Netherlands operating SU-27 Flankers offer the Netherlands some of their aircraft as a down-payment to this debt. The Netherlands accept these aircraft as a temporary solution for replacement/addition to their aging F-16 fleet. Some existing (311/323) and some former squadrons (re-established; 314/316/325) are equipped with the Flanker, all modified to SU-27SKM standard. Some are painted in low visible ghost grey, some in the grey f-16 style colors and some in the standard Russian tropical style (as aggressor aircraft). The pilot's and missile colors are also altered (life AA-11's now have IR seeker-heads). 2 aircraft also have NATO-style inert blue painting for the missiles, denoting they lack propulsion but have real seeker-heads for training. Flankers in NATO member Netherlands Air force colors; Now that's an odd but pretty sight :-) You need the payware ALS-SIM SU-27 Flanker B for FSX in order to use this repaint and modification package.

JELAIR - Maersk Air, Boeing 737-2L9 (OY-MBZ) - version 3 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This aircraft (for FSX, with update-patch #2) is a simulated replica of Maersk Air's 'Pocket Rocket' OY-MBZ (a Boeing 737-2L9 a.k.a. 737-200/Advanced) anno 1989. It is designed for a screen-resolution of 1280x1024. Other resolutions have not been tested. It will NOT work correctly in FS2004 (FS9). It has been tested on Windows XP (32bit) and Windows 7 (64bit) only. It is designed to be as realistic as possible, and flight-experience from the real aircraft, as well as large amounts of documentation, have been used to get it as accurate as possible. It has a fairly advanced panel with many systems simulated, such as a passenger oxygen system, a cabin pressure system, anti-skid brakes, EPR control of each engine (with the possibility of asymmetric thrust), IVSI with TCAS, Sperry SP177 autopilot with working CWS and level-change button, active yaw-damper, Quality-of-flight index (so you can see how well you operate the aircraft), windshield wiper, custom flight-computer, automatic Vspeeds for takeoff and landing, takeoff trim calculator, master caution system, PAX simulator (if you make a mistake they may die), a JT8D-17 engine with slow spin-up time (do not idle it on approach). It features a relatively realistic random-failures/error simulation which will trigger, or de-trigger, any of a variety of possible failures/errors (from small gauge-errors to large engine-failures or cabin de-compression). The chance of a failure/error is very low (you may never even get one, but they can happen, so stay alert), maybe less than 1 percent chance per 24 hours of flight-time. It features engine-management simulation, so overheating an engine will cause it to fail (now you actually need to pay attention to the EGT during engine-startup, and have your finger ready at the fuel-cutoff switch just in case you need to save the engine from heat-damage). It features sounds recorded from the actual aircraft (OY-MBZ).

This is the third release of this JELAIR addon. A very big thank you to all the following very talented people that participated directly or in-directly in the production of this add-on: Original Model by Erick Cantu, Original Panel by Pablo Contouris, Original Panel BMP by Bob Scott, Original Panel Gauges by Ken Mitchell, Doug Dawson, Pierre Fasseaux, SPanel, www.FS2X.com, Original Sound by Christoffer Petersen, Original Textures by Henry William, FDE, various modifications and adjustments for aircraft type, as well as additional gauges and sounds by JELAIR

RAF Tholthorpe Download

File Description:
RAF Tholthorpe opened in the late 1930s as a grass airfield, and operated as a sub-station of RAF Linton-on-Ouse. From August 1940 to December 1940, Tholthorpe was a landing field for Whitley bombers of No. 58 Squadron RAF and No. 51 Squadron RAF based at Linton. From January 1941 to June 1943, Tholthorpe underwent maintenance to upgrade to Class A standards, with three intersecting concrete runways. RAF Tholthorpe was assigned to No. 6 Group RCAF in June 1943. RCAF squadrons stationed here included No. 434 Squadron "Bluenose", 431 Squadron "Iroquois", 420 Squadron "Snowy Owl", and 425 Squadron "Alouette". No. 434 Squadron, flying Halifax bombers, was formed and headquartered at Tholthorpe airfield from June 1943 until the squadron was moved to Croft. In July 1943, 431 Squadron moved to Tholthorpe airfield from Burn. It was later moved to Croft airfield as well. Not only were the operational squadrons quartered here, also their service echelons, - respectively Nos. 9431 and 9434 Service Echelon - which were formed from the ground crew of nos. 431 and 434 Squadron on 3 November 1943 and who moved with their squadrons on to Croft in December 1943. In December 1943 No. 420 and No. 425 Squadrons (together with their service echelons, nos. 9420 and 9425 Service Echelon were moved to Tholthorpe airfield from Dalton and Dishforth respectively. These squadrons had returned from service with Wellingtons in North Africa, and it took them several weeks to work up on the newly acquired Halifax bombers. They were therefore unable to fly their first raids from Tholthorpe until mid-February 1944. No. 420 Squadron flew 160 operations from Tholthorpe airfield and lost 25 Halifax’s. No. 425 squadron flew 162 operations from Tholthorpe airfield and lost 28 Halifax’s. In all, 119 Halifax bombers were lost from Tholthorpe. In April and May 1945 nos. 420 and 425 Squadron converted to Avro Lancaster’s, which they took with them when they left for RCAF Debert, Nova Scotia, Canada in June 1945. The station closed in June 1945.

YBNS Bainsdale airport Victoria Australia *Update* Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Airport YBNS Bairnsdale is a regional airport in Victoria Australia. NOTE This is an update in that it includes some textures missing in the original. It has 2 runways a long 1101m sealed and lit 04/22 and a 850m sealed 13/31 There is a gocart track and a disused drag strip next to the airport. There is a thriving aero club and training for light aircraft and helicopters. These files are for Flight Simulator X. Made using Airport Design Editor using some objects borrowed from Robert Budd's excellent Baccus Marsh. The standard airport bears only a passing resemblance to the real thing so this scenery is a big improvement and accurately reproduces real world. RECOMMENDED The scenery is designed to interface with ORBX FTX_AU scenery for Australia (payware). It will work without ORBX but will not interface as well with standard scenery.

KLGB Long Beach Airport - Modernized terminal Download

File Description:
The airport I chose is Long Beach Airport. This airport has been around for many years and has had everything from the Air Force One to the 787 Dreamliner land here! The airport is located between downtown Los Angeles and Orange County and offers a great landing for tourists that do not want to land in the fifth busiest airport in the world, Los Angeles International.

Consolidated PBY-5 RNZAF 6 Sqn XX-N Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A repaint for the Aerosoft PBY-5 Catalina in the colors of PBY-5 (Bu08450) NZ4012 XX-N 'The Naughty Nine" of the RNZAF, as it looked while flying with FltLt Guy Rogers and crew from the Solomon Islands in 1945 with 6 Flying Boat Squadron. Following Japan's entry into the war in December 1941, the RNZAF had to switch from primarily training pilots to Europe into a combat force. No. 6 Squadron RNZAF was formed as an army co-operation unit at Milson in February 1942 flying Vickers Vildebeest and Hawker Hind aircraft. At the same time, No. 5 Squadron RNZAF moved to Fiji with Short Singapores and Vickers Vildebeest and Vincent biplanes. Modern maritime patrol flying boats (and more Hudson light bombers) were requested under Lend Lease and when the first Consolidated Catalinas arrived a detachment of men from No. 5 Squadron was assigned to convert to these types as No. 6 Squadron. Before the squadron was officially formed these men successfully completed their first air-sea rescue of a downed US aircrew. From May 1943 No. 6 squadron undertook action against the Japanese. The Squadron also conducted search and rescue missions for allied aircrew and seamen, and undertook many open sea rescues. XX-N arrived in Fiji on 20 june 1943. It was declared surplus to requirements in 1951, and was broken up in Hobsonville in 1952. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Aerosoft
