| Koyukuk KYU in Alaska |

File Description:
Koyukuk is a small village on the northern bank of the Yukon River, around 5 miles east of where the river turns from north-south to east-west, east being upstream towards the distant Fairbanks. The mouth of the Koyukuk River that joins the Yukon is just to the east of the village. The population is now under 100 and living from fishing and the land. During the late 1800's the local population lived off the land and also by the spin off from gold mining in the same way as the nearby Nulato, but when in the early 1900's gold mining activities moved to Nome and Fairbanks local prosperity plunged. In fact, the village only became a permanently inhabited establishment in 1939, when a school was built. The airfield is close by and has a gravel runway aligned 6-24 and 4,000 feet long with PAPI on the approach to 6. There is also a shorter and parallel grass runway that is only used in the winter snows by light planes that are on skis and without wheels. Apart from the airfield itself, and it's buildings, this scenery modifies the local land class, adds village buildings while reducing the village size to reality, and creates a new airfield background. Koyukuk is served by Wright Air from Fairbanks in the east and this is included in the AI provided with the post of Nulato. A note here about my scenery making. This is post number 509 and there will not be many more to follow this as I am almost at the end of the photos I either took or found for scenery purposes. There is a limit to what can be located online and I have already been making use of the little there is; eg Unalakleet. So, if you are near an airport (preferably Canadian or Alaskan) and have a camera..... Let me know.

File Description:
It gives me great pleasure to host the upload of this Alaskan landmark kindly recreated by Don Moser for FS2004 at my request. With only one low quality photograph of the actual church and little to no knowledge of the surrounding area, many liberties were taken with it's creation. Although the church is really there, for the most part this scenery is fictional and evolves more from an ongoing saga involving a nun in the Alaskan outback. FS2004 Scenery-Loney's Alaska vol3. This download comprises of 6 more Alaskan airports enhanced using Rwy12 and EZ Scenery. The airports include Calhoun Memorial (PATA), Minchumina Airport (PAMH), New Allakaket Airport (6A8), Nenana Muinicipal Airport (PANN), Ruby Airport (PARY) and Rampart Airport (RMP). There are some challenging approaches again. Watch out for the trees. Includes AI traffic through Traffic Tools with modified AFCAD files. Rwy12 and EZ Scenery libraries required. By John B. | Nimpo Lake CAF8 in British Columbia, Canada |

File Description:
Nimpo Lake is less than 10 miles south of Anahim Lake, and is a centre for fishing lodges and other "nature" activities such as hiking and hunting etc. As a result there is considerable float plane activity on the lake as clients are flown in, or out, to other lakes that are nearby, or just on sightseeing jaunts. This is the first of a trio of Nimpo Lake float bases, the "official" one that is in the Nav Canada floats listing as CAF8. It is close to the Wilderness Lodge fishing centre, included in this posting. Also included here are the AI Beavers that formed part of the Alaska payware scenery by FSAddon, with kind permission to use them for free scenery postings.

File Description:
Anderson Lake 0AK1 is in Alaska, less than 2 miles southwest of Wolf Lake, on the north side of Knik Arm. It is , like Wolf Lake, an airpark, with houses and hangars adjacent to a single runway that is 2,200 feet of asphalt aligned 08-26. The runway is lit but the taxiways are not. There are hangars and aprons at the western end that are not "attached" to houses, with an adjacent strip mall. There is also a smaller apron at the eastern end. In the first screenshot Anderson Lake is in the foreground (at the eastern end of the lake of the same name) with Wolf Lake visible behind it.

Wolf Lake 4AK6 is in Alaska, some 10 miles northeast of Wasilla, on the north side of Knik Arm. It is an airpark, with houses and hangars adjacent to a runway that is 3,800 feet of asphalt aligned 06-24. The runway is lit but the taxiways are not. There is a second runway that is around 2,500 feet long and aligned 36-18, which is grass and unlit. The C-130 is permanently parked, and seeing it land would have been interesting.
