Modified SRTM Relief 76 m for Czech Republic Download

File Description:
This Czech Republic terrain mesh 76 m (LOD9) is made from the 3arc-sec SRTM. Small voids in the source data were filled by the interpolation. Both the primary processing of the 3arc-sec data and the rendering of the terrain in the FS cause flattening and simplifying of the real shape of the terrain. This phenomenon was partially compensated by the sharpening of the source data. Made by the programs Surfer (Golden Software) and MS Terrain SDK 2000 and 2002. The relief covers the area N51.1523 E011.9531 to N48.5156 E018.9844 in the boundaries of the LOD9 quadrants. This scenery contains only the elevation data. The other elements of the basic terrain as the landclass, locally used airborne photos, vector roads, rivers and lakes are available in different sceneries by other authors and they are continuously developed.

Fronconia NH 1B5 Download

File Description:
This is my first attempt at making any kind of scenery for Flight Simulator. I live in Boston and love getting up into the White Mountains both in Summer and in Winter, so I decided to use my ultimate power of MSFS Eminent Domain and evicted the owners of this small private field right in the heart of the Presidential Range in order to create a fictionalized Pilot's home. It's nothing fancy, but it is a nice base for VFR flights throughout the region. We don't have the drastic vertical topography as many other places around the world here in New England, but I guarantee you that we have some of the prettiest, especially in the fall. I hope you enjoy, and if you have any problems please e-mail me at [email protected] Thanks, John Combs

Europe SRTM mesh part 10: Lower Danube Download

File Description:
Europe SRTM LOD9 mesh part 10 of 13: Covers a wide area centered over the Danube valley from Novi Sad to the Black Sea (42°N-46°N, 19°E-30°E). Includes Balkans & Transylvanian moutain ranges, and parts of the following countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Albania. This Europe SRTM project was optimized for the lowest HDD space use: Each part macthing exactly the boundaries of its neighbors, you'll have a complete corevage of Europe without gap or overlapping scenery. Based on SRTM Data v1 and v2 (3 arcsec, 90m) and sampled to LOD9 resolution (76m). Each SRTM tile was carefully checked and repaired with Blackart v4.02: water areas are now flattened (lighter mesh), and SRTM voids were treated taking advantage of Blackart's sophisticated interpolation algorithm. When required, biggest voids were patched with oversampled SRTM 30 arcsec data and/or manual input.

YWKS - Wilkins Aerodrome, Antarctica Download

File Description:
Wilkins Aerodrome is about 10 km west from Casey Station. The blue ice, snow-capped Wilkin's single runway is capable of supporting large wheeled aircraft. The runway operates during the summer period and is capable of supporting weekly flights from Australia. Australia made aviation history this year with the landing of its first passenger aircraft, an Airbus A319, in Antarctica at Wilkins Aerodrome. The A319-115LR, REG: VH-VHA, is operated by Skytraders Pty Ltd. The scenery adds an AFCAD, flattens the area, and a small amount of buildings. The buildings are placed as close to real world locations as I could get. I only used generic FS9 objects for ease of distribution. The file can be edited with EZScenery. The file also includes a PDF of the most current charts and a KMZ file to view the real location in Google Earth.

Hatay Airport V2 LTDA Download

File Description:
Highly detailed scenery of Hatay New Airport V2 (LTDA) in The Turkey. Antakya or Hatay, as its official name is today, was founded in 300 BC as Antioch-ad-Orontes by Seleucos Nicator, one of Alexander's generals. Antakya grew quickly to become a city of half a million people and, under the Romans, became one of the main centers of the Christian faith. The city survived a massive earthquake in the 5th century killing 250,000 people. It was later fought over by Persians, Byzantines, Arabs, Armenians, Seljuks, Crusaders and Mamluks. The latter literally wiped out the city and it never regained its former glory. Antakya was part of the French protectorate of Syria until 1939, became independent as the Republic of Hatay for a short period and then joined the Republic of Turkey on 23 July 1939.

Ontario Small Fields in Canada: #01 Leamington (CLM2) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the first of a series of small airfields in southern Ontario, Canada. It is Leamington CLM2, a field near a small town of the same name beside Lake Erie. The airfield has an asphalt runway of 3,820 feet, though with displaced thresholds at each end due to electric cable strung along the roads for an effective landing length of around 2,800. Right-hand circuits for runway 19 to avoid over-flying a nature reserve around a stretch of shallow water to the northeast. The intention is that downloaders will add further posts to the first, which will avoid unnecessary texture duplication (for instance for parked cars or planes) and avoid adding yet another small field to the FS9 scenery library. The second airfield will probably be Harrow CGL2, a grass field to the west of Leamington.

Ontario Small Fields in Canada: #6 Nixon CNX8 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the sixth in a series of small airfields in southern Ontario Canada, Nixon CNX8, an airfield 20 miles south of Brantford and 10 miles north of Lake Erie, just west of the small town of Simcoe. It was not included in FS9 as it did not exist then; I do not know when it was first registered, but it was prior to April 2010 (the date of the oldest copy of the Canada Flight Supplement that I have with me). The airfield has a grass runway of 2,800 feet aligned 12/30, unlit. The owner has a small crop-spraying business, and there are also hangars rented to local plane owners. Fuel and oil is available. This scenery post is not necessarily complete in itself and presumes you are adding it to the series of Ontario Small Fields.

Kenmore Air Harbor Inc. SPB, Kenmore, Washington (S60) Download

File Description:
Kenmore's home base is at the northern end of Lake Washington, northeast of Seattle. The base has been there since Kenmore was started in 1945. It is squashed up between a marina and a cement plant and if you want to know more about it then read the very entertaining book called "Success On The Step" by C. Martin Faure, with a foreword by Harrison Ford. You may already know that he is one of their more famous clients. This goes with the two scenery files for Lake Union, posted a while ago. For sure you need Ultimate Terrain, as otherwise the lake won't be in the right place. UT for Canada and Alaska may be sufficient, as it stretches south of the border, but I've never tried it without UT for both Canada and the US.

KDOV - Dover Air Force Base Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
FS2004 Scenery - Dover Air Force Base or Dover AFB (IATA: DOV, ICAO: KDOV, FAA LID: DOV) is a United States Air Force base located two miles southeast of the city of Dover, Delaware. Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing (436 AW) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC), known as the "Eagle Wing", and the AMC-gained 512th Airlift Wing (512 AW) of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), referred to as the "Liberty Wing". It was the only base to solely operate the massive C-5 Galaxy, with two active flying squadrons (the 3rd Airlift Squadron, which now operates the C-17 Globemaster III, and 9th Airlift Squadron) and two Air Force Reserve flying squadrons (the 326th Airlift Squadron and the 709th Airlift Squadron). Just drop and fly. Created to enhance your Flight Sim experience by John B. Loney, Jr.

PAMR - Merrill Field - Anchorage, Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Merrill Field is in Anchorage Alaska, between Anchorage International to the southwest and and Elmendorf Air Force Base to the north. It caters for general aviation and is the land equivalent of the Lake Hood float plane base (see my post) with fuel and numerous maintenance facilities, and several hundred parking spots for small planes. There are three runways, and the longest is 4,000 feet of 100 feet wide asphalt, the second 2,635 feet of asphalt 75 feet wide, and the third 2,000 feet of 60 feet wide gravel. It is a controlled airfield with a modern control tower. There are almost 50 buildings on the field and three quarters of them have been modeled specifically for this scenery. The download includes a LITE version for older computers as there are a lot of static parked aircraft.
