EGGP Local Landmarks - Daresbury Research Centre and Norton Water Tower Ver 2.0 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This continues the series of individual landmark sceneries for use while VFR flying in the area of Liverpool John Lennon Airport (EGGP). This scenery has been designed to compliment the Liverpool John Lennon Airport Scenery also by DerboSoft. The scenery is aligned to the Visual Flight / Getmapping VFR Scenery published by Just Flight but is also fully compatible with both the FS2002 and FS2004 default sceneries. Version 1.0 of this scenery was previously included in the main Liverpool John Lennon Airport Scenery download (before ver 4.0) and should be removed before installation.

KSRQ Sarasota 2025 Release Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
A complete recreation of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport as closely as it looks in present day 2025. Most buildings were created in Sketchup and converted for FS9 use by ModelConverterX. I provide you this offering free of charge. The airport terminal is quite detailed. I spent the vast majority of time trying to make it appear as realistic as permitted. Unique objects such as dumpsters, garbage cans, fish pallets, gate signs, sidewalks, soda machines, maintenance cans, and much more were modeled and added to the airport. - Michael Lehkamp

Dawson Creek CYDQ in British Columbia, Canada UPDATED Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a revised version of Dawson Creek CYDQ and the floats base CBD3, made primarily to provide one of the parked planes with it's textures but also to improve the apron markings and the AI. The float AI now includes Beavers and I also removed two planes that were not properly showing their textures in my current FS9 installation. The Beavers were included in my post of Nimpo Lake CAF8 and will need to be installed to show up here. This version is complete in itself and can be installed as-is if you do not have the original scenery. Dawson Creek is at 2,148 feet asl just east of the Rocky Mountains, less than 10 miles west of the BC/Alberta border and where the Rockies are at their narrowest. The population grew when the Northern Alberta Railway was extended to Dawsons Creek in 1932, and grew even more more when the Alaska Highway was built in 1942, starting from Dawsons Creek. In the 1950's the town was linked through the Rockies by a railway and a road to the BC interior, and the town grew again. Now it is static at just under 12,000 and once again has become a farming centre, with Fort St John and Grand Prairie winning out for new industry and commerce. The airport is just to the east of the town. The runway is 5,000 feet of wide asphalt (150 feet) aligned 06/24, lit, and with PAPI and approach lights. There is also a water runway for float planes, separately designated as Dawson Creek CBD3. The two effectively operate as one; traffic for both use the mandatory frequency of 122.2 and talk to one controller in one control tower. However, in FS9 the ATC for two separately designated airfields (or float fields) operates as if they are nowhere near each other and takes no notice of near misses between the two lots of planes. As a result I have put them both in un-manned tower mode so you will announce your position and intentions and select your own parking spots, either next to one of the hangars or on the grass. The aprons vary from asphalt, to concrete, onwards to gravel, and then further onwards to some gravel amid the bare dirt; I have replicated this variation as far as FS9 permits.

Dutch Harbour PADU and St Paul PASN - UPDATES Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This has revised runway circulation for both Dutch Harbour (dutchplus.zip) and St Paul (st_paul.zip) to better reflect reality in helicopter and aircraft operation. It is not realistic for a helicopter to land, continue in a straight line along 6,000' of runway, turn at the far end, then taxi back along the same 6,000' to the aprons. Similarly, a Cessna does not need the same runway length as a 747.

This fix incorporates intermediate turnaround points to allow helicopters and small aircraft to turn around soon after slowing to taxi speed and to taxi back to the aprons at the end of the runway, instead of trudging along the whole length of the runway twice. There are some things that cannot be improved; a plane or helicopter will always taxi all the way from the aprons to the far end of the runway before turning and taking off, and a helicopter or light plane will not "land long" to minimise the taxi length. The pictures show different turning points. There are also revised AI bgl's to provide better time separation between flights.

Ontario Small Fields in Canada: #7 Lucan CPS4 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the seventh in a series of small airfields in southern Ontario Canada, Lucan CPS4; plus revised AI and parking for #6 Nixon CNX8 to include a crop spray plane (the Grumman 164) which I have just identified from a photograph; plus a note re an addition required to the different crop spray aircraft (the AT802) config file so that it parks correctly at St Thomas CYQS. Lucan is 15 miles north of London Ontario, and 20 miles southeast of Lake Huron. The airfield is the base for a small crop spraying business and has a grass runway of 3,100 feet aligned 09/27, and with lighting. The overhead cables that previously imposed a 550 feet threshold displacement on the runway 09 approach (up to and including 2010) have now been buried. The lighting is owner-controlled and cannot be turned on from the air. Fuel and oil is available. The crop spray plane is a Grumman G164A Ag-Cat, which was manufactured in the 1970's and remains in use with a lot of owner-operators.

Naknek (5NK) and Naknek South (WSN) - Alaska, USA Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Naknek and Naknek South are two towns close to the mouth of the Naknek River and on opposite banks. King Salmon is approximately 15 miles to the east. The canneries on both banks of the river are the reason for the existence of both towns and airfields, with fishing for salmon being the primary industry of the area. This takes place from the beach by individuals, by small boats in the river and the immediate sea area, and offshore by larger craft. There is a picture of one boat unloading in Naknek which will be known to anyone who has watched the most famous television fishing programme of all, Deadliest Catch. Cornelia Marie is better known for the crab fishing based in Dutch Harbor, but this area too is just as productive though without the drama. Naknek 5NK has two gravel runways and a float runway in the adjoining lake; all three are just under 2,000 feet long. Naknek South WSN has two gravel runways, 12-30 being 3,300 feet long and 04-22 2,260 feet. As the road connecting to King Salmon is on the north bank it is probable that more seasonal workers are brought into the southern canneries by air, hence the longer runway (and with PAPI on 12). Grant Aviation run scheduled flights into both and there are numerous seasonal charter flights. The AI is a further modification of that posted with King Salmon PAKN and includes these flights, and presumes that you have already downloaded PAKN.

Allakaket 6A8 Runway and Taxiway Lighting in Alaska Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Allakaket is on the Koyukuk River in Alaska, 40 miles southwest of Bettles. This posting adds proper runway and taxiway lighting to the scenery, as shown in the screenshots. There will be lights on top of traffic cones visible during the day, just as there are at Allakaket in real life so that pilots can still see them after a snowfall. At night there will be lit lights that properly illuminate the runway for landing, and at a lower level of brightness the taxiway. Put the bgl's into the existing scenery folder of your Allakaket 6A8 installation and say yes to replace the existing bgl's that have the same names. Add the texture bmp's to the texture folder. That's all, and in fact you could try it without the textures in the Allakaket 6A8 texture folder, but read on. Instal the Library objects once and for all by placing the CONTENTS of the Lighting Library scenery folder in your static objects scenery folder and the CONTENTS of the texture folder in the static objects texture folder (which is how I install scenery objects libraries). Alternatively, put them in the scenery and texture folders of your Add on scenery folder, or even in the main scenery and texture folders. They just have to be in related scenery and texture folders that are always active when FS9 is running. There will be further retro upgrades to other recent scenery that was posted with temporary lighting. Say thank you to Greg Putz for making the lighting.
