| PAAK - Atka Airport - Aleutian Islands, Alaska, USA |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Atka is near the western end of the Aleutian chain of islands in Alaska, around 100 miles east of Adak and 330 miles west of Dutch Harbor. The small town (population around 60 now, down from 90 only 5 years ago; so quickly?) is reliant on fishing. The airport is a mile or so north of the town on the east coast of the island, with a single runway of 4,500 feet of asphalt, and there are scheduled flights by Grant Aviation from Dutch Harbor (included in the AI posted with Adak).

| Schefferville CYKL & Squaw Lake CSZ9 in Quebec Canada |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Schefferville is a town in an area of Quebec that is surrounded by Labrador, the border taking an unusual wriggly course instead of the normal Canadian straight line. One has to presume that there was a lot of political negotiation involved. Take a look at Google Earth to see what I mean. The town was established in 1954 (initially at a site a bit north of the present location, and with a different name) to support newly established iron ore mining. To assist with the exploration for further iron ore and the construction of the railway it seems that there was a forced relocation of native population. Although iron ore mining around Schefferville in its current location flourished through the late 1960's these relocated folk were neglected and suffered "destitute poverty". Through the 1970's iron ore mining declined and ceased in Schefferville in 1982, when most of the 4,000 or so non-native residents left. Since the year 2000 there have been moves to reopen mining in the area and production restarted in 2011, the approximate date of this scenery. The main reason why iron ore mining started again in Schefferville as opposed to any other area in Quebec or Labrador is the existing railway, used for ore transportation. There is no road connection and the airport is the only other means of access for the 250(?) town inhabitants. This population figure is somewhat of a guess, and the town inhabitants are largely company officers who change and move in and out as required by their work. Schefferville airport is to the east of the town. It has a single lit asphalt runway that is aligned 18-36 and is 4,975 feet long and 150 feet wide, with PAPI at both ends. Air Inuit flights connect with Kuujjuaq to the north and Sept-Isles to the south with onward connections to all parts of Canada. There are other charter flights for company personnel. The terminal building has been renovated and the photos show just how dilapidated it had become before this was done. I like it. This scenery also includes Squaw Lake, a float base that is used by Air Saguenay. Or was, as the company was closed in 2019 after an accident involving several deaths. The reason for Air Saguenay establishing a float base here was, once again, the railway, which allowed people to reach Schefferville for a reasonable cost. They could then use the float planes for a shorter distance and reasonable price to reach fishing lodges on the lakes to the north. | El Paso Intl (Fictional New Runway Layout) with FSE File |
|
File Description:
El Paso International is sort of a boring airport... So projectgmax decided to spice it up a little bit by playing with AFCAD and FS Enhancer (C) by Lago Online. We added jetways, cargo containers, 1 truck by the AA gates. You MUST HAVE the FULL VERSION OF LAGO'S FSE FOR FS2004 to use this file. This file includes the AFCAD needed for this add-on to work. To change gate radius please use AFCAD 2 by Lee Swordy. http://projectgmax.projectai.com for other news and information and questions about upcoming FSE files.

| Perpignan-Rivesaltes (LFMP) |
|
File Description:
This a simple rendition of Rivesaltes airport in the south of France. Some bits are unfinished - some fencing is missing etc, but its still much better than the MS default. I make no claims for accuracy, though its a good representation.
Included is a land class file for the area - not perfect but again better than the
default and adds Rivesaltes town and Canet and the nearby windfarm.
This scenery was designed for fs9, fs2004. I used MS default textures where I could, so
these may not work in fs2002.

| RAF Wyton - 1990 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Brian Clarke actually started Wyton last year, in anticipation of John Young's Canberra - but for one reason or another it fell by the wayside. With Derek Taylor producing the paints for 100 Sqn and 231 OCU, Brian picked up the project again and more or less started from scratch.
This scenery is coded for Derek's Canberra's and is hopefully well-enough representative of the base as it was during the 80s, using a little artistic licence as and where necessary.
This scenery uses various MAIW object libraries which will need to be downloaded separately.

| Northwest Montana Landclass |
|
File Description:
This archive includes some simple landclass improvements for the Northwest Montana area. What I have found, is that the default landclass is pretty good, with exception to the towns of the area. There are several pretty good size towns in NW Montana, and they add to the scenery, so that is what I did.....changed the towns a bit. Also included is my landclass for Big Mountain Ski Resort at Whitefish, MT. This is my first attempt at this type of landclass, so it is not perfect. It is not intended to be a completely accurate facimile of The Big Mountain, but it does represent it pretty well.

| Russia & Middle Asia Airports |
|
File Description:
These files enable the FS2002 scenery
collection of Russia & Middle East
Republic Airports Part 1 by Vladimir
Svobodfor - rusnew.zip - to work with
FS2004. Also included are EditVoicepack
files to provide proper names on the
ATC system for the airports concerned.
The new AFCAD files will allow you
to plan routes, and take off and land
at all but one of the airports in the
scenery collection, and ATC will route
you appropriately. Several of the
airports have ILS landing systems.
AI aircraft can be added, and will land,
taxi, park and take off in the correct
locations.
Many thanks to Vladimir for his original
work.

| Real KABQ V1.4 |
|
File Description:
An all new scenery for KABQ airport in Albuquerque, NM. I have removed my terminal building in favor of Charlie Kleissler's very nice terminal building. There is also a new afcad2 that I redesigned from scratch for his scenery with proper parking at the gates. There is a landclass file to get rid of all the autogen buildings next to the airport and to put a more realistic ground texture around the airport. I moved/ redid all of my buildings and scenery to line up with his photo scenery. I also moved MS's default tower to the proper location. Previous Version Had 1100 Downloads. Enjoy.
